Afraid not with the avatar tethering. However, this rewrite will allow you to take away most things an admin can do, and only leave them with avatar rights.

if i read that correctly, admin+ is still required for to summon the avatar. This is the thing i was looking forward to the most, as 3/4 of my clan is spammed with admin+ just so they can summon the avatar.

No, this is a fundamental rewrite of the way the entire clan system works. Only admin+ can write to that clan data.
While reading all fifteen pages, I assumed that being an avatar warden was a blanket permission to the whole rank of Admin, however after re-reading the first page again, I see that we are able to award this privilege per member, phew!
At the moment, all our full members are ranked Admin and Avatar Warden (per our Warden agreement), veterans and managers are ranked Organiser and our council ranked co-ordinator. Please can I have another rank so I can honour our managers for all the hard work they do? Pretty please? Or as someone suggested, create a new rank based on Admin but named as Warden perhaps?

This was really one of the changes I wanted to see so that we can utilise existing ranks who can have avatar privileges. Since that is not possible, can we have another rank as mentioned above?

Although we have not had any problems with our members abusing this (knock on wood), it is good to have this fail safe finally. Thank you Mod Maz!

I appreciate Mod Maz's hard work and will be happy with whatever additions she can make to the rewrite regarding Avatar Wardens. It's apparent she doesn't have all the flexibility she'd like within the game engine to give us everything some of us had hoped for.

The forum posts seem to show that this rank is being used by many clans primarily as a means to allow clan members to host the clan avatar. If you made this change and also provided the additional permission check boxes you're currently working on in the rewrite, this might solve a few dilemmas we've had concerning wanting to give avatar warden permissions to clannies without being forced to include other clan management permissions as well.
Just an idea I had that I wanted to share.
Possible, but totally misleading, as not all clans will run their clan that way. Indeed, not all clans have avatars! As the rank is capable of so much more, I won't be doing this.
