The Clan Leader Discord should not be able to advertise on the Clan Leader Forums. In these forums only jmods can dictate what the clan leaders do. No clan leaders, not even forum mods, are able to lock or hide posts here in CLF.

This should carry over to the Clan Leader Discord if it is to be advertised on here. It is a third party application being directly advertised on the forums. Discord is an instant messenger and by sharing account names on the forums it is sharing personal information:

"For privacy and safety, players must not ask for personal details such as full name, email address, instant messenger handles, telephone number, home/school address or age. Players also must not post anyone's personal contact details (including their own) on our in-game chat or forums."

Since it is not Jagex regulated it should not be posted on here nor be permitted to have an access thread, if the access to this forum is regulated by Jagex as well.

It also takes Jmod attention away from the CLF. Since the creation of the discord, the clan leader forum has been slow in activity, and slow in terms of jmod responses.

It also brings to question that if one group is allowed to advertise their clan leader forum discord on here, why cant others? Also why should one discord receive more jmod attention than the other?

Salcos, there is a Clan Discussion channel in the official RS Discord, if you want to bring up any ideas there. I've not really seen J-mod interaction there recently, but it's a start to communicating with Jagex outside the RSOF.

Aside from the reasons you gave, by Jagex's OWN RULES , Discord server threads have to be posted in the Community Home forum.

Why is CLD being given special treatment?? The fact that a community-run server requires CLF access is no excuse for them to ignore the rules.

If I created a Discord server for the Rants forum, would I inherently be given special treatment and be allowed to post it in Rants? Hell no , I'd be expected to conform to the forum rules like anybody else.

For the record that was a trial - Mod Meadows has since (over a month ago) locked Community Home so only Jmods can post again. As seen in the post below:

I've closed up CM Home so only FMods and Jmods can post on it - going to see if this helps it.

Like I said in my post when I opened it, it was an experiment - and it may end up being reopened again in the future.

The rules for the forums generally are relaxed in all the private forums, including the CLF and HLF.

In this case, why try to bring down something that is practical and useful both for us and for the Jagex Staff who use it?

Try to put pragmatism above pedantry.
