I think the root of our frustration is not the lack of new features for clans but rather the lack of support for current features that are hurting or have the potential to hurt clans.
As it has been stated, prior to the year of the clan we managed to do pretty well for ourselves. I wouldn't venture to say clans thrived but the community was larger and so we were larger. Even prior to the friend chat update all most clans needed was a recruitment thread. With the additional of the original clan chat (now friend chat) we did even better because we could all talk and hang out together even while we trained.
Then the year of the clan happened and we were given a vast number of new features including a new clan chat, a physical home we could customize to our liking, our own private forums and a way to micromanage our members responsibilities across the board. It was great and we loved it (most of us).
The problem now is that as the game progresses, as content is released, and as oversights from the big clan update are coming out, updates for clans to keep these new features relevant are growing fewer with more time between them. Examples;
- In the friend chat we were able to click problem members to give them a time out. Now we have to mute and entire rank, kick them from the clan entirely or live with it. This should have been added with the original update but it wasn't.
- Clan permissions are great but extremely restricted. We do not even have the ability to dictate which rank is allowed to kick from the clan. It had to be hard coded in that a single person could only kick up to two people from the clan a day. Many clans even had to restructure their entire system just to be able to use the permissions because they were so inflexible.
I won't get into the updates and fixes that were promised to us but didn't happen because Maz and her team didn't have the resources, but you get the idea. We were given a new system that is turning out to be inflexible and broken.
