By ignoring clans, they kill their own game. MMOs could not exist without their community, and for a community to flourish they need a clan system - guilds, clans whatever they might be called in their respective games. It's just how it is.

You really think that this forum would exist if you were correct?
Or that citadels, clan chats and so on would have been added if this was true?

How do you think the Staff who make an effort for clans - like Maz, MattHe and others - will feel when they read this? Inspired to help a bunch of whiners who don't appreciate what they've got, or even attempt to understand the complexities of making changes to what is a huge and complex code base?

Sorry, but this kind of negativity is not just annoying, it's self defeating and plain rude.

We are praising matthe and maz, as they seem to want to help, but the rest of jagex seem to do nothing, or very little. Any suggested clan updates are either worked on by maz during tapp, or not at all by the rest of the team. MrBrokenBow - Former Leader and Founder of

I have followed this thread with interest, for what I hope is obvious reasons, but I don't understand this one. What J-Mod communities are you thinking of that we are trying to replace clan communities with? Mod MattHe | Former Community Manager, now in Events & occasional Lore Monkey

Respectfully, your "following this thread for obvious reasons" is a tad vague, at least to me.

The more I read, the more I have mixed feelings. A very large part of me agrees with Andras, Marinabella, and others. (
though I don't understand her J-Mod communities comment myself.
) Because though they may sound ungrateful, there is a bitter truth to their claims.

The other side of the coin
As Archaeox has painstakingly pointed out is: it is a lot of work, and some of these are projects that may not be done within a few days, or even a few weeks. I can accept that, and I can certainly respect Maz and Matthe for doing the best they can.

So here we stand. We are a few months before 2016....God where did the time go? But most disturbingly, this thread sounds closer to a Hari Kari grouping then a excited bunch of clan owners and community supporters. Other's with authority in Jagex need to step up to the plate, even if it's just for this next year, so just a few things can be made right. Overall something we all agree to.

In the end, since people seem to believe I am getting my hopes up, I would like to say I am. Not in the way you think, I have to stay positive, because I play and enjoy this game almost solely for it's epic clan communities. As do many others......

Yet it sounds like the "many others" have long tossed in the towel. And that's a problem if not now, soon. Somewhere something is being missed, and it is murdering clan morale.

Maz and Matthe are not Jagex, they can only do what they are permitted to do by their employers, we only get what we get because of them and no one is having a go at them i think you totally misunderstand what people are saying.

Its not bull, Jagex have neglected clans. I dont think they understand how important they are to the game, like someone mentioned earlier in other MMO's they understand how important clans are to an MMO and dedicate a lot more time and resources to helping them. I really dont understand why Jagex do not.

They have also damaged clans in a more indirect way by allowing PVP to be in the state that it is in atm, PVP clans use to be thriving in RSC and early runescape now we just dont see many of them.

Its come to the point where the list of improvements are so so many, leaves me banging my head on the table trying to understand why.
