No. I can't.

As I understand it Code is a tricky and canny beast - it lies in wait for you sometimes so you think you have your prey captured and then suddenly it Strikes! Crippling you with a venom of enormous potency that you must conquer before you begin your hunt again. Q&A is similar as sometimes even the simplest of things will prove foul and fetid when a tester examines it.

It is one of those things that until it is done you cannot tell how long it will take, definitively.

I both agree and disagree, reasons listed bellow.

I sort of agree as said by multiple users that there are too many inactive Clan Leaders (and Clans for that matter!).

When myself and another established my current Clan as our previous one went inactive, we had a hard time deciding on a fitting name due to every name we liked being taken by 3-5 Member Clans :(

So in the retrospect of kicking inactive Leaders (and presuming you'd kick a whole clan if they were were inactive) I'd agree on this note.

Only thing that concerns me is the method you will apply into kicking the inactive leaders, do you have any ideas as of yet on possible methods you plan to use?

I for one like the idea as said by another user "Vote System by Admin+, leader has x amount of time to accept/ decline on weather he wants to loose his Leader rank". (maybe have it so 60% of clan needs to be in favour of vote?)

This method seems most plausible due to it giving the leader a chance to accept/ decline.

I'd also suggest that the "leader" receives an e-mail informing him of a vote being made to ensure he at least knows about the vote happening.

On a side note;

With the new 'companion' app, would it be possible to accept/ decline the "vote" encase anything has happened in real life & we're unable to get to a computer?

Most if not all people always carry around a mobile, tablet or any other form of hardware.

Well, that's my opinion on things. I'm really looking forward to where this goes!

I am not prepared to set out any stall yet as to how we intend to do it - I think most of the design will be what is actually possible in the comms between various modules, rather than what is perfect from the UI design point of view. But until Mod Maz has put more flesh on the ones I am not ready to discuss it.

I understand that this is a last resort situation, and an emotive subject for those in the position of being in a clan without leadership.

My major concern is that the wrong person could be chosen to lead the clan, someone unwilling or unable due to work commitments to fill the boots left by the removed inactive clan leader.

My suggestion to counter this would be a visit by a J Mod to the respective clan chat and information given a week before any action to remove leadership is taken.

I appreciate however if the clan is time zone or region of the world specific this may not be possible, but at least an attempt can be made to give the information.

Sounds like anything Mod Maz might have in mind wouldn't help your clan Belldandy 22 as he/she isn't exactly absent if he/she logs into the game once a week, even if it is just for updates. However if you'd like some advice I'd let your clan mates know that their worries about the clan leader deleting the clan are unfounded. Tell them like you told us, how much you trust him and then you will find you don't have half the problem you seem to think you do. =) It seems you communicate often enough with the clan leader so that he/she made his feelings known to you about the possibility of handing you the clan. I think you will have to live with that.

This isn't really a case of an absentee clan leader who hasn't left someone to take over. I think your clan leader is abundantly clear that he/she doesn't want you to have ownership at this time.

This might be a far-fetched idea, but with this new system that may or may not be put in place, is it possible to completely disband inactive clans? Sure, a leader is MIA and he gets replaced, but what if all 5/10/20/however many people in the clan haven't logged in for a while. It would certainly help clean things up on the clan-list and allow us to see just how many active clans are out there. Plus, I know in the past I've gone searching for clans to contact for wars and stuff via the clan list, and there seems to be more completely dead clans than active ones.

I am prepared to be shut down on this idea as well :)
