We have had a number of requests in the last couple of months to remove inactive clan leaders and hand the leadership of the clan to someone else; while we understand the difficulties created for the clans who are in such a situation we have had a series of (lengthy) discussions and have agreed it is not something we are happy with doing on an ad-hoc basis. Instead we would prefer to put an automated system in place for dealing with it so that everyone knows where they stand and it cannot be subject to any preferential treatments.

Of course that system would require dev time so I shall just have to sneak it onto the Queen of the Squirrel’s list :)

Edited to Add: This is in reference to clan ownership and the associated admin powers, not membership of legacy leaders in the CLF.

It is role of lists in life to get longer. It does not mean you should not keep them though, in my experience :) Mod MattHe | Former Community Manager, now in Events & occasional Lore Monkey

I do love a good automated system. Like the name-release one! ;)

Seriously tho, I do like the idea, but can't say I'm sure if it's really worth it. There's no cap to the amt of people that can have access to the forum and I don't see the harm in dormant people keeping their access.

Before I carry on, what criteria do you currently think would constitute inactive?

Ok slightly confused. I read your post Mod Matthe and read it as replacing inactive clan leaders as leaders of their clan. I presume this would be done by when last logged into Runescape. Personal opinion - a good idea, absent leaders are not leading. Then I read Johnny Depp's post which talks about access to forum??? You are talking about removing clan leader's from head of their clan? If so what inactivity period is being considered?

Anyway definitely support

@Johnny Depp - this is for actual Clan Leadership, not CLF.

We have not decided on criteria yet; that is something we would look at in detail the closer we got to any dev work. Given the length of the Queen's list I don't envisage this being immediate.

Oh, wow, I misunderstood! Sry. Definite support in that case. Even without you being able to shed light on the criteria.

there are so many variations you'd have to take into account when implementing this...
Does the clan work perfectly fine with an inactive leader, do they want their inactive leader replaced, is the clan inactive fullstop, is the clan leader on their OE, or has the leader been ill in hospital for months...
