I look forward to the proposal of this. Though I was meaning this forum when I spoke of inactive people, cleaning out clans themselves would be beneficial. Say if a clan gets less than x number of active people then the active ones can be notified to join a new clan and the old ones get removed from the clan. Then that clan would disappear. It's not much of a clan when everyone is dead. The active clans could use those active people.

The main problem I see is that there are so many different points of view on this subject. You guys just need to put your foot down and pick a course of action. At the end of the day if a clan is active and the people are active they shouldn't be opposed to anything.

I am nervous about being inactive & made my deputy clan leader only to find that he handed me back leadership and is taking timeout of game.

Trying to get people in my T7 clan to do things is hard as like me they are lethargic

and the best motivated players find it easier to swap clans and coexist .

Having a clan of 200 solo skillers whos best attempts of a clan event is spontaneous sinks or an odd bossing group .

Most of clan are busy in rl and play to relax . If i vanished from game i hope the clan would keep running .

And think That after 2 months inactivity i should be removed but i have 7 deputy leaders . so who becomes leader .

~

Is 5 active people a clan ? ~ i think not
Is 10 people a clan ??~ only if active

How can you say if a clan is active .

My brother is a clan deputy in a clan but hasn't played for 3 years.

I remove ALL inactives after 3 months unless they ask in a forum /fb to be kept in clan

Great idea, thank you. I often see threads on the forums asking to remove their inactive leader. I imagine that inactive leaders would be a huge problem for clans especially with updates like today's where only the clan leader can assign who uses the notice board message thingie. For clans who have an inactive leader, updates like this are basically useless. :)

I was thinking if clan leader goes inactive for x-amount of time, someone admin+ can go to clan camp and ask for a vote to remove the leader.

The main thing is: is there a way to calculate last logged on? There must be? since log in screen says "you last logged in ..."

I've always wanted a "last online" tool tip on friends.

Anyway assuming you can track last log in... An admin+ goes to the clan camp and asks for a vote for should they remove the leader. This then sends a yes/no chat box to all admin+'s/everyone online regardless of where they are. Depending rank limit is set select an appropriate minimum needed to vote. so for example if everyone votes set there needs to be a minimum of 10 votes or 10% of clan and the vote needs to be a majoirty.
Ho Ho Ho!

with regards to a vote;

I would say the leader should be-able to choose who has the ability to start a vote, and who can vote. I think it would be best to allow only certain ranks to vote, as a rogue admin could initiate a vote, invite a ton of other accounts and kick the leader etc.

Furthermore, if its automated to remove the leader after x amount of months etc., the issue of place-holder accounts, such as clans that use an account so none of the leaders have the top position needs to be taken into account.

I like the idea of a vote, after a set amount of time. But would need to allow the leader to set who can initiate a vote, and who can vote (so new recruits, cant jump in just to vote).

So that would allow the clan to choose how to handle things should the leader disappear, instead of Jagex enforcing a rule upon us, best to leave the ultimate decision on whether to implement this to the clan itself. Upon release, it could be set as all clans could start off with coordinator+ ranks can initiate, but only admin+ ranks can vote. (so as to allow those who have been waiting a long time to do it on the update day etc.)

Perhaps even a warning for the clan leader, once a successful vote has been completed, given 2 days to respond to it etc.

Just my thoughts anyway :)

Obby.
