Clan owner of Viking Clan
4 years, 3 months (Estimate, confirmed to be over 4 years though)
Comment: I'm the original owner. My brother and I used to share equal custody over the clan in 2010 (Days of the friends chats), but the FC we used was my chat, so I am technically both the original and current leader.

Ceecs
Clan Owner, Ceecs Clan
2 year, 17 days

Comments ~ I have founded the clan after I got disrespected with the leading of the clan I was in before and we did not shared the same points of view on certain topics like bots. After an argue they banned me. It was not my intention to start a clan but many of that clan left the clan and asked me to make one. So I did then... The name is cause I didn't know a good name then not cause i have a huge ego :P

My goal when I created the clan was to help people with Runescape by providing them knowledge. To get tier 7 citadel and to keep our clan avatar active! Which all have been suceeded.

Like all clans we had our ups and downs. We had a few times that some admin+ ranks left with a certain amount of people. Not so long ago also... But we always had enough loyal members left.

Now we are a clan with 450+ members with atleast 300 active ones. A maxed out citadel and few events a week! We are also since a few days the highest ranked dutch speaking clan! So we can officially call ourselves the best dutch speaking clan!

The way to achieve that was long and hard but it was worth it. I hope that I can lead my clan for many more years!

I've been a deputy owner of Targaryenn (I'm here as a representative, rather than owner) sometime since the beginning of this year. Our clan was founded June 2013 when a small group of us left a bigger clan that we had been involved in for a few years to start one of our own.

As far as clans go per se, I've been involved in the leadership of another community clan for around 3 years (being the clan owner itself for over a year), and have had organisational roles in pking/warring clans dating back to the outset of RS2 many years ago.

Been interesting to see firsthand the way that clans, and the role that they play in the player community, has changed and evolved over the years.

Clan Deputy of Overloaded XP
~ 3 years leading

Comments: I joined the clan at its early stages back in summer 2011 before citadel update. I became admin rank fairly quickly after taking on a 50-member recruiting challenge. I was owner for 6 months after we obtained tier 7, and help move our community from just a citadel based clan to just an overall open skilling community.

We changed our rules, ranking structure and internal processes to help reflect that. We have 2 different owners since I stepped down (due to leaving for college and other in life obstacles), and they have done a wonderful job.

I like to see myself as someone who tries their best to preserve the clan's mission, keep a stable environment for the well being of the community, train new owners as they come from time to time, and run our clan's member tracking system.

I've technically done a little of everything depending what time period we are talking about. From recruiting, hosting events, making new internal changes, etc. My main duties nowadays are usually just back-end administrative stuff (As that is all I have time for with full time job). I generate the kick lists for our current owner and update our monthly member rankings throughout the month and help give constructive criticism to new ideas. I strive for innovation and communication in everything we do. :)

HI I'm Vic!
Currently, as of about 2 month, Deputy Owner/Co-leader of New Age Assassins.
Was Owner for 1 year and 1 month before I had to step down because of some IRL stuff that came up, plus I had been suuuperrr busy with college and all that fun stuff. Before that I was a Co leader for about 2 years, so overall I have been a leader of NAA about 3 years. I have been in NAA about 5 years now, I joined December of 2009

Just like many other clans, we have out ups and downs, but it has been a huge center of my RS playing and I don't think I would have enjoyed(and still enjoy) runescape as much as I do if i wasn't in a clan :)

Jamez - Deputy in KOS (Edit: Leader 12th Feb '15)
At a guess: Nearly 3 years.

My first clan: Pugna Mihi, welcomed me as a new P2P player and helped me learn the basics and I slowly worked up the ranks, until an argument split the clan in two. This was horrible, but brought some of the quieter members out and created new friendships. Of the two subclans, I was in SKC (Skillin, Killin, Chillin) and although it was a nice community, it was never the same as PM. After a while, I became the only one online in SKC and it got pretty lonely, so when my friend (Smudgiiz) asked if I wanted to join her clan, I jumped at the opportunity. Immediately loved the people and the sense of community that was much like I had felt in PM. I rose up the ranks quite quickly, being allowed to host my first event after about a month. In such a big clan, I was pleased to have that responsibility so quickly. I got invited to war for the first time and happily got involved and practiced and improved, enjoying every minute of it.
I have recently recruited 3 of the Deputies of Pugna Mihi to KOS (it felt great to have the gang back together). I love the KOS community and feel at home in the clan. Without KOS, RuneScape would get boring very quickly; I'm glad I joined.
By the time I was a co-ordinator, the long-term leader of KOS felt she had to stand down. Although they never left the clan, they are dearly missed and we would love to see them again.
Since then, we've had two strong leaders and we reached rank 1 P2P RCW. Through the good and the bad times, this clan has been amazing. I joined this clan as a newbie, and am now comped, with everything I could want. Thank you KOS!

Could not agree more with this quote:

The hardest part of being a clan leader is to become good friends with people but having to see them go. So many old faces are now gone and I often wonder how they're doing.
