One thing that isn't mentioned is where/how the buff will be active, is it everywhere or will it be attuned towards certain worlds, and do you need to have the pet/override summoned (at least 1 person) to receive the buff?

EDIT: From what I understand from the replies on the original thread, anyone can summon the avatar (as a pet/override) and would receive the buff from it. I'm not sure about worlds though, but with this logic it seems to be more of an individual-based buff now rather than a global one (so everyone would need to have it summoned if they want to get their own buff).

Good question! I hope it's going to only work on home worlds but I'm guessing it will be for any world.

Whilst I truly very much appreciate Clan content getting some development time, I am unhappy with the direction of this Clan Avatar rework.

To add insult to injury, Mod Moltare's thread essentially states that the only feedback you're really interested in is how good the XP boost will be.

It feels like you are reducing the Clan Avatar into yet another monotonous XP-boosting tool when you should be improving its diverse range of existing benefits.

I feel the rework does not correctly address the problems players have outlined with Clan Avatars, and I will justify why here.

Original message details are unavailable.
- Clan Avatars are a clunky pain to summon, track, recall and administrate for clan members. Codewise they're an unpleasant exception in our summoning code, our clan code, our pet code, our combat code and our gameplay code.

I have never had a Clanmate complain about going to the Citadel to summon a Clan Avatar, and I would argue it's a non-issue. You have to go somewhere to summon most familiars; a Pack Yak for example you have to summon at a bank.

Clan Avatars are no longer a pain to track and administrate. The noticeboard shows who has them, and the Clan Citadel stone allows us to recall them. If a Clan's communication can't keep track of Avatars with just these features then I'd argue the problem is with the clan, and not the system.

Your solution surrounding the pet interface and attuning yourself to the Citadel is convoluted and completely changes how Clans interact with their Avatars; something which they have grown accustomed to over the past years.

Your solution also defeats the premise of the Clan Avatars. Clan Avatars are supposed to be a way of getting Clanmates to play together; one person summons it, and everyone else joins them in-person (or on the same world) for the XP boost. It perfectly fit the spirit of a clan. Giving every Clanmate their own personal Avatar completely removes this important aspect of Clan Avatars.

- A tiny percentage of players interact with anything but the 3% XP buff.

Make the buffs better and make them all work server-wide. Myself and other players have given plenty of suggestions to improve the buffs.

Unless I'm misunderstanding, as there is little-no mention of other buffs in that thread, your solution is to delete them and reduce the Clan Avatar an XP-only tool?

- Clan Orts are less than ideal. Nobody who plays has a shortage ever, they're certainly never used to heal the avatar in combat, and even with their conversion to a currency the whole affair is unpleasant to interact with.

Use them for something else? Don't delete them. :|

Make them a random drop whilst you Skill in the Citadel and let Clanmates use them as currency to buy new rewards from a Citadel NPC.

Rewards could be stuff like a portable Avatar bonus which stacks with the regular Avatar bonuses.

- The gathering-in-citadel buff is notionally better regarded than its equally unused peers but its usefulness is poor next to the XP buff.

Make the buff double your gathering speed (which in turn would half your XP gained before cap.) Some of us don't care about the XP, but want to get capping over with as quickly as possible.

Original message details are unavailable.
- (Due to the above) there's currently no incentive to improve the habitat to its full potential.

This doesn't even make sense as an issue?

The Habitat only has three Tiers, and there is plenty incentive to improve the Habitat to its third tier - you get a third avatar!

Original message details are unavailable.
- There's currently no benefit, outside citadel plot XP, to maintaining fealty with your clan.

There doesn't need to be. But if there does need to be, why not use the above system I recommended which gives Anagogic Orts as a drop in the Citadel which can be used to purchase rewards from a Citadel NPC.

Higher Fealty = Higher rate of Orts = More Orts to buy rewards with

Higher Citadel tier = Higher cap = More Orts per/week earned from capping

Please don't go ahead with this rework. Focus your development efforts into the places we asked for it, which was only two places:

1) - Let anyone Summon the Avatar as we currently do. (Don't change how we summon it)

2) - Improve all of the buffs (except for the XP boosting one, that's fine as-is.)

You don't need to completely change how the Avatar system works, and (what looks to be) deleting half of it.

Ill start with the options, i think b) is a clear winner looking at the feedback so far and is also my choice. I would go far as to say maybe making it 6% we have to think if that an extra 2% is going to be incentive enough but either way its good.

From the feedback ive concluded there are currently 3 usefull buffs on the avatar, xp boost, resource gathering and the healing, will these all remain and be an option on summoning? Ive not fully grasped how gathering will work with this atm.
