Lol loved the line " We are not looking for suggestions on this one - rather we are looking at what is best code wise in allowing us to improve on in the future."
Translation - we do not care for Clan leader opinions on how Avatar gathering in the Citadel will work. Your experience, how as Citadel managers you wish to manage the build, and your thoughts as to what will / will not work are totally irrelevant to us. As with the Avatar = pets you will get what you are given and be happy about it or shut up
Edit - admit to feeling jaded - after so many promises broken and false starts over so many years I no longer believe in either a future that considers what we as players want or what is in our best interests
Some decisions are based on game health over all - these are often things that players do not have visibility over, such as the number of DB calls a process is making, changes to the coding environment that make a previously used instruction no longer appropriate or legacy scripts that cause significant issues when we look at addressing new content to specific game areas.
It is a significant issue with Clan code that chunks of it are very problematic when we look at making any changes to those features - design, development and testing all become a massive challenge and it makes even small changes very difficult to make.
The major reason for the changes to the Clan Avatar are to free it from a number of these issues. This does mean the functionality will change and it is certainly the case that some clans will not prefer the way the Clan Avatar will work. However the feedback to the proposed changes have largely been positive and where there have been good points made about the design we have considered them carefully as to what we can include or can't include in the changes we make.
We have read all the feedback, several times over. It has not been ignored - some has been included, some of it we do not agree with and some of it we might agree with but cannot implement as part of these changes. But we have not ignored it.
