OMG Hockey, I hated that Sheep herder quest with a passion
. But I think it was in my pre-penguin days so I wonder how I would do with it now. The only thing with those blasted sheep is that they definitely had contained borders. You don’t see sheep wandering the Ardy marketplace.
As for the music, I only wonder if some lag might be involved for some overlapping areas you mention Eli. I know that if I move to a completely new area the "old" music is still playing for a few seconds, or also when I log out suddenly the music is still playing on my speakers although the screen is blank.
But I do think music is a good comparison and quite interesting to look into as well. I have often been wandering in Wildy and suddenly unlocked new music for no apparent reason (i.e. I wasn’t in a building or specifically marked area). It happened to me in Karamja two days ago too.
I am still intrigued to find out which penguins’ wings have been clipped with the latest update. Jagex said some were wandering too far, and they fixed it. Does that mean certain clues we had before will never be given for some again?
EDIT: *wishes Jagex would introduce the "penguin prod"*. LOL can you imagine?

Was looking through old threads for stuff and before they fall off page 50 and saw that Brooks has posted in v12 that Larry had gone nuts and was giving out 11 clues. Unfortunately no one posted clues on that thread for that week. Not even sure if this helps, but might be of interest to look back at your notes.
Odd? 11 clues?
There was a Neitiznot and a Jatizo penguin that week, so 2 penguins sharing the same clue. If the desert was going back and forth between the north/south desert clue border, then that'd bring it up to 10 clues, then some other penguin must've been on the border too
?
Yes, with a penguin close to a clue border and crossing it many times, as they like to do back and forth movement, the clue can change many times also in a short period.
I witnessed once a clue changing from "near Ardougne" to "near coast, west of Ardougne" several times in just some minutes and I found the penguin wandering between Witchaven and Ardy.
About getting more than 10 clues on v12 and about music borders
I checked the v12 thread. Brooks had posted her info of more than 10 clues about 30 minutes from reset. (reset 18.39 - post of clues 19.08)
From that weeks penguins there are 2 possible that could cross a clue border (or couple) withing that 30 minutes. One is White Wolf Mountain and the other Baxtorian Falls. Desert penguin was respawning south of the smoking well, so it most likely did not have time to roam to northern desert on east side of river Elid.
On White Wolf Mountain a pretty small area on the far north on lowests path of the mountain is "where Imperial guards train" clue area. Rest of the mounatain, including respwan spot, is "near mountains of wolves" and Taverley is "kingdom of Asgarnia" clue areas.
The Baxtorian Falls penguin respawns north of the Barbarian Assault near the coast. As Boomer has stated on a previous post, there most likely are 2 different clues for that area: "between Fremennik and barbarians" and "near an oupost of barbarians".
My conclusion of the clues for that area is not yet anything but an assumption as there has not been a Bax penguin for many weeks. I have not been able to test the clue borders with actual penguin locations, but I'm basing my conclusions on the music borders.
Barbarian outpost area has 2 music borders and 3 different music on an area from the north coast to the bridge going over to the waterfalls. The music for the most northern parts is Lighthouse and it changes to Legion 4 squares from the north wall of Barbarian Assault. Acording to the Music Guide on Manual Legion is music for Barbarian Outpost. Legion changes to Voyage 3 squares south of the bridge. Voyage is music for on top of Baxtorian Waterfall, raft area.
Continued...
I am assuming that the northen part, including respaw spot, is part of the "between Fremennik and barbarians" clue area. That area changes very close to the respawn of the Bax penguin to the "near an outpost of barbarians" clue and farther south, but still not very far, is one more clue border before the bridge and the clue changes to the "somewhere in the Kingdom of Kandarin" cue.
If this is true, then the Bax penguin could very easily get 2 different clues and most likely the third also.
I'm not sure where this penguin was found and when, but as it is named Baxtorian Fall im assuming it is either found near there or it had roamed there very soon. On a post made by Jeffsterz the Bax was said to be trapped inside the quest start house South of the Barbarian Outpost already about an hour after the reset, so pretty soon after Brooks clue information.

On some previous thread, a ranked posted that one time they kept getting northern and southern clue at same time from Larry, which caused people to there were two desert penguins when there was only one. The person said that they found the penguin on the ridge in the middle of the desert (which, coincidently is north of the spawn point
). So it's possible the penguin roamed onto the ridge and kept getting alternating clues.
This probably doesn't help/matter much, as there are several possibilities for the clues that were bordering, but since you didn't seem to know the border was there, I hope that part helps out at least
(Sorry, don't know the poster (It may have been Hockey) and I have no clue as to the V number, so sorry for lack of citation
)
But, of course I may have mis-remember what the person said, and the border may not be there at all.
I have heard earlier also from someone that the border betwen norhern desert and southern desert could be running along the rift.
I have tested it couple of times when we had a penguin in the desert but not an Al Kharid penguin. At one point the penguin was trapped along the north coast west of Shantay but I kept getting southern desert clues.
But last time when we had two penguins in the desert and not an Al Kharid penguin, I got northern desert clue and when I went to check Al Kharid for a possible roamer penguin, I spotted one of the desert penguins just east side of the Soceress' house. From the map you can see that desert area reahcese north of Shantay. Two days later I was with a group trapping one of the desert penguins west of the mining spot north of Uzer. I asked Moon to check Clues from Larry and he was giving northern desert clue at that time.
From those three occasions and looking form the map, I have drawn the border between northern desert and southern desert running just north of the Shantay Pass.
But ofcourse I must try to find out the clue for the rift area. Maybe it does have something odd in it.
