~~~ Urgent PvP minigame issues ~~~

A few days ago, I played some Soul Wars and Castle Wars. Then I remembered why I hadn't played them in a while: they are impossible to play. These two, but the other PvP minigames as well, have some serious issues that need to be addressed ASAP. Below is a list of, in my opinion, the most pressing matters. Some points are already present in these minigames' respective entries on page 1/2, but no harm in repeating. Clan Wars and Duel Arena are excluded from this because you can pick your own opponents there. TzHaar Fight Pits are included though, but they have no pressing PvP-related issues as far as I am aware.

All
Ban weapons and armour above level 80 or 85. Minigame hybrid armour should be the best, and it is empirically evident that players with full sets of level 90 armour are practically invincible.

Fist of Guthix
- Correctly drain the Hunted's defensive stats and make them unable to hold anything other than the Stone of Power.

Soul Wars
- Make the entry portals more restrictive, to ensure balanced teams.
- Ban friends' chats from the game. Add an option for clan vs clan games instead.
- Make activity bars deplete inside safe zones too (only paused when in ghost form) to combat afk'ing.
- Make the avatars more powerful after each kill.

Castle Wars
- Add an activity bar that depletes inside safe zones.
- Ban friends' chats from the game. Add an option for clan vs clan games instead.
- Some players will hinder their own team by taking the flag and hiding somewhere. This has to be fixed somehow.

Stealing Creaton
- Fix EoC bugs (weak familiars, magic without runes, ranged being weak, damage-dealt-score being based on pre-EoC values).
- Damage players that stand too long at the enemy base (see page 25).
- Add activity bar that depletes inside safe zones.

Deathmatch
- Give free runes.
- Add an activity bar.
- Allow hybrid armour to be used.

Wanted to add my support especially in terms of the Castle Wars & Stealing Creation changes. Used to be two of my favorite minigames now they're unplayable because they're both dominated by FCs.

I tried to play Castle Wars a little bit ago. I got flamed, reported, and harassed because I hate the audacity to leave spawn and try to actually play the game.

Literally just add an activity bar, it would solve a lot of problems. Maybe not all of them, but anything would be more tolerable than FCs prearranging victories and rigging the games and flaming anyone who wants to play it properly.

I think they could go a darkscape approach for this: Diminish the power of t80 and higher eq (except for minigame hybrid - and maybe also other pvp armour like superior ancient warrior sets) in minigames. This way players still would have progression by using higher leveled items, but not an overly insane advantage

Banning was the wrong word to begin with, really, since players who have no other armour would have a problem. I meant cap their effectiveness at level 80ish, with the exception of minigame hybrid armour. Including e.g. superior ancient warrior sounds good too.

If the DarkScape approach is sufficient diminishing such that even level 90 armour is only marginally better than level 80 (and minigame hybrid is the best), then that should be fine too.

My suggestions:

All:
*If the armor cap is a hard cap, then armor affected by the lv80 cap should not degrade.
*Improve the stats of all Castle Wars Armour sets while in Castle Wars. Profound Decorative should be on-par with Minigame Hybrid Armour.
*Rename Minigame Hybrid Armour.... It's current name is confusing, especially since it is not hybrid type .

Castle Wars:
Since the activity bars stops AFK'ing, making the Trimmed Comp Req a bit easier too seems fair.

Stealing Creation:
*Add a "no-combat" option when playing FC matches. Both clans must agree to this, obviously.
*Maybe don't add an activity bar. The reward your get is based on your performance, so it's not really needed. Maybe add a point threshold that you must hit in order to recieve thaler.

Pest Control:
*BAN. PORTABLE. SKILLING. STATIONS.

Soul Wars:
*Make it easier for teams to reclaim the graveyard on their side if it is taken.

1) Ah, brilliant, thanks.
2) A defender could easily set up a barricade or pummel it. It might be a bit annoying, yes, but it's certainly the lesser of two evils when compared to the current situation of mass afk'ing AND harassing people who play normally.

For SC, the base camping problem would have to be solved first. If that all works, an activity bar or something similar can be added to combat afk'ing. Obviously being forced to leave the base to get killed is not desirable, whence the priority to fix base camping, but on the other hand, you've got little else to do. :P

3) No but I didn't say it was, they are only a real problem in Soul Wars and Castle Wars. Since SC has a separate clan vs clan option, this should not be a problem there.

The Great Orb Project:
- Redesignate a world to be TGoP-themed


For minigames like GOP, a designated world could make a big difference?
Even if it is a single world for multiple named minigames, this could help players find teammates/competitors.

Just yesterday it was challenging to find anyone to play with, despite GOP being spotlighted.

Of course, it could partly be interest or lack of, but hopefully with thousands of players online at any one time, there must be half a dozen up for a game? :)
