I have to agree it kinda bugs me that East Ardougne is stuck looking like a mess forever. Construction seems like the best way to rework it and it shouldn't bee too hard to make it look more livable while still having renewable construction content either through the contracts or something more area specific.
If they expand contracts to have more places then it'd probably be a good idea to have the ones you get affected by the agent you talk to so you won't have to run across the map quite as much, a bit like how slayer masters have different task lists. Not necessarily making some exclusive to a specific agent but more like weighted odds or something.
Miscellania's underground areas also seems like a good place for construction to tie into a rework of the area, as it would be nice for the kingdoms to look more like actual kingdoms people live in rather than just a pair of castles and some people doing job here and there.
The sawmill could get a mix of woodcutting and construction stuff too with a closed off storage area set aside for Gertrude's cat.

considering how dead these forums have been lately anymore, has me wondering if there is any real hope for any kind of major changes that we've been asking for.
We've asked for various other proteans to be added to the game for how many years now? We also asked for them to be changed up as well, and here we are finally with them being added and somewhat adjusted to make things a little more...balanced in terms of utilization?
With the massive delay in things, one can only hope that we see some more diverse changes come to this game before the remaining thousands of players decide enough is enough... *heavy sigh*

Or...they can make houses have some utility to the game like in several other MMO's.
That was the whole point to this thread. I seriously doubt that they're going to do another world event any time soon...the Tuska event went off without a hitch and it was TOO op the first few days, and they altered it to basically be not worth pushing forward for.
Look at it from a veterans perspective here...lots of us that remain faithful to this game (while taking occasional breaks) find ourselves doing repetitive tasks for the sake of nostalgia.
I know several people have created skillers just to have something more to do and take a gamble with the RNG again just for the sake of sakes...if that makes any sense.
My whole construction overhaul idea is for this exact purpose.

While most of its facilities aren't too useful for me (townhall, chapel, upcoming kitchen with the exception of whenever I'll encounter that one web in the future again - albeit that's basically a bugfix sold as reward space), it's massively useful for players, who still have to skill prayer and cooking and it massively upgrades the construction skill to give an actual reason to go up to 99 other than being able to wear the max cape one day. And other than that it also gives construction way more purpose on lower and medium levels. As great as the POH in OS is - the skill itself basically is pointless before level 70 - with the exception of some rare niche or QoL features.
I am really looking forward to more buildings and somehow constructions feels 120 ready by now - especially when to could bring even cooler things with let's say a fourth tier of buildings.
