As the items glistened under the sunlight, Analee heard a cry, and then Bane flew by, landing on a branch. She judged she had enough ingredients to make whatever kind of potion she wanted, or a poison. She still felt a little light-headed, memories still feint and blurry. The dark elf man looked up at Bane, then back to Analee, briefly putting his forearm forth to gesture for her attention.

“Oh, and I'm Auryllac Satlagean, by the way, longhunter from the Vrisostomo Clan, a tribe of dark elves far to the north of here. You probably don't remember me, I first saw you when you were a little girl. I was hunting wolves and beasts with your father, just before you were attacked by some sort of lupine creature. I still take it as a personal failure on my behalf.” he said, then looked around.

Analee wanted to speak, but could not usher a word. She still felt dizzy, as if her brain wanted to go back to sleep, yet she did not feel sleepy anymore. The man shuffled his backpack.

“My clan recently started trading with you Wood Elves, and then all of a sudden, your people started shouting, and you just ran like hell, as if possessed, keeping your eyes closed. You continued running, so we ran after you; heh, your pet wolf seemed to think it was a game! This is the third morning, believe it or not, glad you finally stopped.” he continued, then looked around. “Looks like I'm the only one who made it this far, and damn, am I tired.” he finished, sitting down then rubbing his eyes.

Analee felt rather strained, her legs starting to sting with pain. Had she really ran for three days? At least this dark elf man, Auryllac, was kind enough to have carried her gear this entire time. But, she soon felt the discomfort fading away, and heard Bane chirp, the falcon ready to swoop down and land on her shoulder once she got up. Buruk looked at her attentively, wagging his tail.

“What's your name?” Auryllac asked.

Analee gazed at the man before her as the shadows faded. She had seen his kind before, as her fathers tribe and the dark elves traded on many occasions. She seems frozen as she watched him, unable to move or talk as though she was slowly coming out of a trance.

She continued to watch him Ashe unrolled the cloth, revealing her personal items that he said she dropped during her sleep walking. Sleep walking? There were times she had woken up in different places other than the place she had fallen asleep. Did he say for three days? Analee Was beginning to become lost in her thought just as a cry broke through the silence.

Analee slowly was going to push herself into a standing position but quickly stopped as a wave of dizziness overcame her. Her body began to slowly ache, sore from her unexpected travels. She slowly looked up at babe and then back at the man as he gestured for her attention. She listened. His name sounded familiar to her but she couldn't recall any memories as of yet. She felt mentally drained. But why? If she had been sleeping as long as he said she did, wouldn't she be well rested?

Ignoring the pain, she slowly pushed herself to a standing position. Her clothing had rips in it, most likely caused by branches catching on them. Her arms and legs dirty and scratched. She looked down at the man, Auryllac he said his name was. "I'm Analee." She slowly spoke out, her voice dry and cracking. She felt her stomach growl. When was the last time she ate? What was the last thing she remembered.

Closing her eyes, she tried to recall her memories. Slowly they broke through, a little hazy. She was with her father as the dark elves arrived. She remembered seeing Auryllac and then nothing. Everything went blank, dark. She opened her eyes quickly. "Thank you for following me" she began. "But I'm ok. And I wasn't alone" she told him as she glanced down at Buruk.

“Analee, right, that's your name... at times, I just can't remember names.” Auryllac remarked, then nodding to her comment. “You're welcome. Good thing your pet wolf followed you, he must have protected you during your run, too, and scared off any unwanted attention. At times, I thought I'd lost track of you, but I just kept going. I am exhausted.” he continued, then leaned back a little, just wanting some rest.

Obviously, neither of them really knew what had happened, but something quite different and remarkable happened. Hopefully, Analee's father was not freaking out too much. What would Analee tell her people? It was quite an odd dream, and at times, more of a nightmare. Perhaps she would have a chance to interpret her dream somehow.

“I don't think I have any energy to make another three-day trek back to your village, so if you'll forgive me, I think I need a little nap.” Auryllac said, leaning his back against a root of a world tree, then exhaling slowly. Analee did not have to ask him much, sensing he was quite spent, and in desperate need of rest.

Analee had slept during the past three days, but her body did feel the stress of constant movement. She heard Bane chirp, then Bane swooped down and landed on her shoulder, cocking his head, as if making sure she was OK, then chirped aloud.

Considering her sack of herbs and the vial, perhaps Analee could start making a potion to help the situation? She could also venture out to seek for more, stronger herbs. She was, after all, in the middle of nowhere, and would need some supplies, and food. There surely would be some berries, fruits and edible plants around, somewhere, and she may even stumble upon some wild game; her pets may help. There was also a little lake and a few streams off in the distance, and an archway now ruins.

“Be sure to tell me if you go anywhere.” the dark elf mumbled, his eyes closed and hands clasped over his chest.

Now what?

Analee watched as Auryllac laid down, resting against the world tree. He looked exhausted. She was thankful not to be alone, that someone had followed her because she didn't know where they were. She wasn't allowed to roam alone or far from her home ever since she was attacked all those years ago.

Inhaling a deep breath, she steped forward slowly, the pain from over worked muscles shooting up her leg. She winced in pain but kept as quite as she could, trying to hide any sign of pain. Analee didn't want to be seen as weak and fragile as everyone in her tribe made her out to be. "I'm going to go down to the stream" she said softly. Analee didn't wait for a reply from Auryllac.

Walking carefully, she made her way through the overgrown weeds and grass of the forest. The stream was close by, the sound of running water growing as she walked. Buruk followed close behind and bane sat on her shoulder.

Analees mind wondered while she walked towards the stream. What could she make if this dream? And Auryllac, did her father send him after her? Her father! He must be worried sick. She quickly shook her thoughts away once she arrived at the stream. Bending down, she cupped her hands and lifted cool water to her lips, quickly drinking it. The cool water burned as it moved down her throat, yet she couldn't stop drinking.

After finally getting her full of water, she gazed around at her surroundings. "A golden root" she mumbled quietly to herself. Leaning over, she picked a yellow flower looking herb. Analee knew what this herb was, hearing about it from her father but not ever getting to actually see one.

Standing up, she moved over to a nearby rock and pulled out her supplies that Auryllac was kindly enough to have brought back to her. With this herb, she could make a drink, a potion, that would help fight off physical exhaustion. Analee quickly got to work. She grinded the root and mixed it with water, and slowly poured it into the vial.

Analee held up the vial and gazed at it. It was filled with a yellow liquid. "Come on Buruk" she called out as she turned to make her way back to Auryllac. The least she could do was give him this potion, she was after all well rested, a little sore but rested.

Slowly, she knelt down next to Auryllac. "Here, drink this" she said softly, holding the vial out for him to grab. If he drank it, he would start to feel well rested and energized within a few minutes time. "It's golden root, it will help with your physical exhaustion." She gazed at Auryllac as she knelt there. She never seen a dark elf up close before. There charisitcs were beautiful to her.

After handing it to him, she stepped back and say against a tree. "Did my father send you?" She asked.

---------

Back at the woodland tribes village, her faster paced back and forth. "It's been three days and not a word in her wereabouts!" He was growing I'm patient. Where was his daughter. She was his only child, she was next in line to take over at tribal leader. "Gather up a group and find her! And don't come back until she is found!"

“Uh-huh.” Auryllac mumbled as Analee went off. When she came back, she gave the dark elf a potion.

“Hunh? Yuh, uh, thank-you, thanks. Golden Root is a rare ingredient, you have a knack for this stuff, eh?” the dark elf said, and then drank the potion. It would take a few minutes to finish, but Auryllac felt better, the potion healing him of his exhaustion. He exhaled and relaxed.

“I still need a few minutes of rest, but yeah, we should head homeward pretty soon. I'm so stiff and sore, and it's only gonna get worse tomorrow. Hopefully, my son won't go out looking for me, that boy just isn't a huntsman...” Auryllac commented.

Then, a distant shriek-like roar from afar sounded, echoing twice, Buruk turning his head, and Auryllac forcing himself awake and picking himself up.

“That shriek... sounded like it came from a very, very big bird, probably hungry, too.” the dark elf remarked, and then a group of white-tailed deer appeared, prancing away, probably having been spooked from the shriek.

If Analee was quick, she may be able to hunt one of the deer, but then again, the roar-shriek sounded a bit too close for comfort. Then again, food was nice to have. She speculated that if the source of that shrieking roar was heading her direction, it had a 1/3 chance of actually reaching this spot, but if she killed a deer, even if the creature did not find her, it would certainly smell the spilt blood, even if the deer did not flee very far after being hit by an arrow.

Meanwhile, back at Analee's village, her father wasn't happy, and sent out some Wood Elves to search for his only daughter. He did not realize he was being watched, at least not yet. Elves had an affinity to nature, and had excellent eyesight, and he soon had the feeling he was being watched, yet did not notice anything out of the ordinary. Perhaps he should investigate?

Analee say there as he drank the potion. It wasn't the taistest position but wasn't the worst. "we should be able to rest here for the time being. It seems safe" she commented. Deep down she knew that her father was searching for her. Would it be best to stay put? Or to try and make it back? She looked back at Auryllac. He had a son, a family he needed to get back to.

"I think I saw some berries" she began, only to be interrupted by a distant shriek like roar. Analee stopped mid sentence and gazed it that direction. She slowly stood up, her bow already in hand, her other hand placed on an arrow. Analee watched as a group of white tail deer appeared. She quickly pulled out and arrow and took aim.

Analee held onto the arrow, moving along with the deer. Slowly she loosened her grip and relaxed, lowering her arrow. If she would kill a deer, it would draw that bird creature to them. For now, she would stay hungry. After all, there were berries by the stream. And where there is water, there is also fish.

"Maybe we should move?" She asked softly, still gazing in the direction the deer came from.
-------

Analees father stood looking down from his home, a home that was placed in the high in the tree. He gazed down at his people below. Somethjng didn't feel right. Something felt different but he didn't know what it was. Turning, he made his way down the stairs that swirled around the tree, making his way down to his people. He may not know what was causing his uneasiness but he was going to find out.

He walked through the village, listening and gazing around as he did.

“You're right, we should get going. I think going down the stream would be a good idea, we might find some fish later on, too. Chances are it will take up to four days to get back to your village anyways. Let's go.” Auryllac mentioned, passing the empty vial back to Analee, and at that, the two elves decided to start the journey homeward. Analee had put her tools around he waist, and the roll of cloth Auryllac folded up and put into his backpack.

As they walked downstream, the same shrieking roar sounded again, but it was quieter than last time, so at least they were getting farther away from the creature, probably a large predatory animal. Buruk let off a slight growl but kept his mouth closed. Even though he was smaller than most wolves, he was nevertheless loyal, and would attack anything. Bane remained perched on Analee's shoulder, keeping an eye out.

“I'm starting to feel rejuvenated, your potion really helped. Thank-you for making it for me.” Auryllac remarked.

So far, the walk homeward was smooth and easy!

* * *

Analee's father had quite the nice house, one in a tree, with stairs going all the way around the trunk. It must have been a beautiful place to sleep in. Feeling uncomfortable, he went outside to investigate why he felt a little uneasy. However, he found nothing. He had walked towards the outskirts of the village, and was about to turn around and head home, until he had a feeling he was being watched.

Upon a closer look, about a few dozen feet away, he saw what appeared to be shadows forming on the surface of some trees. Even though there was ample sunlight shining through the canopy, the shadows remained, and darkened the area, shadows growing larger. When he blinked, he saw:

The creature just stood there, gazing back with its big round white eyes. It was a Darkbeast, a creature from the shadows of the netherworld itself, but they usually were not associated with demons. The Darkbeast eyed the elf attentively...

Analee took the vial and placed it in her beg, along with all her other belongings. Turning, she followed behind Auryllac, Buruk walking by her side. "Bane, fly ahead and make sure it's safe" she told her bird. She lifted him up into the air. Opening his wings, he took off and flew ahead. If there was something up ahead, he would peak her twice on the hand, unfit was safe, he would peak her once.

As they made their way down the stream, the same shirking sound echoed, more distant than before. "It's ok" she said as she slowly patted buruks head as he let out a soft growl.

"It was the least that I could do" Analee responded. "You after searched for me and didn't stop until you did." The sound of the forest relaxed her. The sound of birds chr opine and water running was like music to her ears.

"You mentioned you had a son" she began, wanting to break the silence that had fallen between them. "Have I seen him?" She asked. Over the past few years she had seen many dark elves as their tribes started trading. And he mentioned that he was present in the day she was attacked. Did they have a past that she didn't know about or remember? Analee looked towards the sky for any sign of bane.
-------

As Analees father turned to start walking home, he stopped. Somethjng wasn't right. He felt as though someone or something was watching him. Turning, he looked back at the trees. There before him were appearing shadows on the trees. The sun broke through but the shadows remained, seemingly growing larger. "It can't be" he said to himself as his eyes grew wide.

"A darkbeast" he whispered as his eyes meet the two round white eyes. He wanted to turn and run but was stuck in place by fear.

Name: Salvatore, or Sally for short (not his real name)

Age: 16

Race: Human

Appearance: Sally has ear-length hair that is black and wavy, and his eyes are a clear aquatic green that give a sense of great empathy and kindness. He also has a fairly slim build and is 5' 10'' tall, maintaining an upright stance in spite of a slight limp from an attack by a young Pantherian. In addition, Sally has a tattoo on his right forearm, depicting two hands shaking each other, the wrist on the left bearing the letter N and the right hand's wrist with the letter M. He doesn't know what the tattoo means, however.

Attire: He wears a wreath of olives on his head - a symbol of purity - and a white robe with green stripes running down the sleeves, and a silver seven-pointed star on the chest. He also has yellow Romanesque shoes that he wipes with violet essence in a blessing ritual before his shifts as a night guard for the Holy Order of St. Ambrose.

Personality: A quiet but very kind individual with a strong sense of justice, Sally has a tendency to see good in everyone, and tries to find a way to resolve problems without violence. In fact, he won't resort to violence unless he is defending himself or his comrades. He also tends to be shy around people, and has a somewhat curious streak to him as well.

Abilities:
1) Ieromancy - Angel's
2) Astromancy - Minor
3) Cavalry - Light

Retinue: Sally's mount is a unicorn which he named Nightstar, standing at roughly 5' from hoof to head, and has minor psychic abilities which allow her to predict the opponent's moves slightly and tell which way to go.

Backstory: After a traumatic experience, Sally can't remember anything about his past, even his real name. He suffers nightmares as a result, and has a feeling that he has a brother out there and wonders who that might be, but he still has no memories prior to waking up on the small island of Astriki, just off the southern Hellenistic coasts.
