Flying through the black air was some sort of giant bird, with feathers as if massively elongated fingernails, a mouth full of long curved teeth, and a long tapering beak. The mighty bird glided through the darkness, always gazing down at her, always knowing her thoughts, always knowing what she was going to do, yet never doing anything. For, the bird was cautious, and a much smaller bird flew after it, holding something in its talons...
Down below, she felt something, something that was deeper, darker, hidden. It felt like she was staring at herself, as if she was ready to emerge from water after holding her breath, yet she was the water, and whatever below her, wanted to arise from her. She felt as though it was staring at her, a feeling you get when you think you are being watched, yet you do not know why. Whatever it was, it knew her.
As it emerged from her body, it was revealed to be a tree growing out from within her body, the branches and roots bursting through her flesh, and instead of growing leaves, grew forth eye balls, hearts, lungs, livers, spleens, bladders, and then the bark began bleeding. It felt as though the tree was forcibly making her body become inside-out while growing out of it.
The tree was ancient, forever watching as the silhouettes of monsters arose, transforming into trees, and then were chopped down by shadows and made into bows and arrows, shields, walls, towers, churches, and furniture. The Elves? She then felt the silhouettes of Elves use saws and axes against her body, feeling them cutting through the branches and bark, her blood gushing out, and the organs on the ends of branches shaking in fear. For, the tree was always inside her, containing her potential, but many were against her...
