Miranda "The Raven" Banner

After the girl jumped onto her horse, midnight reared up and took off. Miranda fought to stay awake. As midnight ran, he trampled over many Devils. "We're going to have to fight" Miranda called out to the girl who was holding onto her. Reaching down, Miranda pulled out a sword which was on midnight. Someone had gotten midnight ready to flee, maybe one of those dead elves at the stable?

Gripping it tightly, she began to stab Devils left and right. Looking back, she caught glimpse of the girl shotting fire from her hands. It wasn't the time for question so she ignored it. As midnight ran, a devil jumped into Miranda. "NO YOU DON'T" she yelled as she grabbed it and kicked it off into the ground.

Up ahead was there freedom. "Let's go! Faster!" She yelled as she snapped the Regins. Midnight ran faster, unlike he had ever before. "Hold on!" She called out to the girl.

Analee

The witch seemed to be asleep once her visitors left the hut. Analee had quite the adventure ahead of her; what a terrible fate. She was scared and sad, trying to be a big girl, but she shed a few tears at all of this. But, she had no choice: she decided she would try to save her people, or die trying. There was nothing left to do. But what about Auryllac, Talarin's dad?

“My dad will be alright. He knows where this witch lives, I'm willing to bet he'll eventually come here, talk to her, then follow after me.” Talarin said, surprisingly, not feeling too bad about anything. He was a young man, and seemed to be trying to act like an adult, like the knight serving his lady.

“As for this city split in half... she must have been talking about the Divided City, which is actually a series of several cities joined together by walls and aqueducts, but it was all torn apart by a great rift.” Talarin said, then leaned against a tree and yawned, Buruk looking at Analee eagerly.

Analee heard of the so-called Divided City, sometimes her father and the traders spoke of it, apparently, it was a dangerous, lawless, cruel place, ruled by bands of bandits and occasional deserters from militaries. She recalled it was also a haunted place, with sorcerers and warlocks often searching the Divided City's rift for demonic artifacts and ruins.

“It's basically a giant junkyard now, but criminals, bandits, mercenaries, and adventurers sometimes use the ruins as a hideout. I used to go there with my dad and his friends to look for treasure, or my dad would sometimes get hired as a bodyguard, but nothing bad ever happened to us. An abyss runs through the city, splitting it in two rough halves, one side belonging to the Vaal'Amar, the other side belongs to the various half-breeds and beast-folk.” Talarin explained, then looked on ahead, and sighed.

“If what the witch said is true, we're gonna have to go to the Divided City and find clues about this so-called End King, to then save your people from the netherworld and the Dahkbeasts.” Talarin spoke, imitating the witch's accent for ''Darkbeasts''. “Besides, there's a hideout in the Divided City my dad and I used, it was always our rendezvous in case a disaster happened, I'm sure he'll eventually go there. We can wait for him there. Our tribes have been trading together for so long, that we are like family, Analee, so I treat your people as I would my own. My dad always taught me to be loyal, saying that even when you steal or raid people, you gotta be loyal to the end, through good and bad, and that's what I'm gonna do. I know how to get to the Divided City. Or... maybe you have any questions about the Divided City?”

Escaping Fortress Naamoth

Poca fought backwards and sideways on horseback, constantly harassing the Vaal'Amar that attempted to attack Midnight. Miranda, who noticed Midnight was conveniently harnessed and equipped some time ago probably by one of the dead elven stableboys, unsheathed a sword and fought as well, slashing side to side at the many foes, some of whom skipped away to avoid being trampled. Miranda also kicked a Vaal'Amar off when he tried to climb her horse to unhorse her.

With Gulzod going crazy, he distracted (and killed) enough of the devils to create an opening. Miranda encouraged Midnight to run, as fast as he could, yelling at Poca to hold on. The opening allowed Midnight to get into a gallop, moving so fast and strong that Vaal'Amar ran out of the way, and those that got in the way, were struck down, with Miranda and Poca swinging and stabbing their swords, and Poca throwing fireballs and waves at her foes. Just as Midnight ran passed Gulzod, blood splashing in the air, the Orc caught sight of Poca.

“Hey! Poca! You're alive!” the Orc yelled gladly, having thought she was killed by the falling rubble. “Run to the left! Your left! I'll keep these pricks busy!” he continued, running after the horse and hacking those in his way, then spinning around so that he closed the gap behind Midnight, to fend off the pursuing Vaal'Amar.

Having overheard the Orc, Miranda swerved her steed to her left, to run out the space between the gatehouse and the siege tower at the left, which Gulzod suggested. She did so, her steed barely fitting through the space left, but he nevertheless charged through the gatehouse, knocking down a few Vaal'Amar in the way, stomping upon the fallen, and Poca and Miranda felt their legs brush against the siege tower as Midnight ran passed it.

After the tight fit, Midnight galloped away, several Vaal'Amar outside the castle noticing and charging, but they would never catch them. A dozen archers atop the siege tower turned around and shot arrows, but they all missed, as Miranda had Midnight swerve. Up ahead was the siege camp, essentially a series of big tents and makeshift workshops. However, inside the siege camp were several battle boars, each mounted by an armoured Vaal'Amar, who happened to be there.

“Don't let any more of them escape! Kill them!” the Vaal'Amar commander shouted, a big devilish man wearing a bulky breastplate with spikes at the pauldrons, and at that, five battle boars charged, oinking loud.

Although the battle boars were not as fast or agile as horses, the boars were bulkier, shorter, and had greater stamina and endurance. Their riders wore crude breastplates and spiked helmets, carrying oval shields and pitchforks, and having a mace, battleaxe or war hammer at their saddles. At that, a pursuit had begun!

Wolf,
Midnight is being chased by five battle boars with armoured riders; although she cannot fight unless the enemies get up-close to the sides, Miranda can now grasp the reins with both hands to control Midnight with greater effectiveness.

You must control how Miranda rides Midnight, the speeds are trot (jog), canter (run), and gallop (sprint). You control also how Midnight holds his head; use this to get through the paths up ahead as best as you think. The hogs have a max speed of a horse's canter.

Boars and horses have rather good eyesight for animals, but horses can raise their head to maximize binocular vision, allowing them to see distant objects with greater focus, as well as see where its feet are, but horses run faster with the head not raised.

Is there anything else you can think of to help?

Up ahead, Miranda could see a few different paths she could pick:
A simple dirt path going to the right, leading through the forest, with trees along the sides with low branches.
A woody path full of trees, requiring frequent swerving, with branches, logs and boulders here and there.
A hill, rather steep, but leading to a meadow with a creek off in the distance.
A simple dirt path going to the left, winding amidst old growth forests, then leading to an old ugly wooden bridge.

Annie,
Poca cannot fight with her sword until the boars and their riders are up-close.

Pyromancy is a rather short-ranged magic, but Poca can still hurl fireballs upwards in hopes they arch down onto foes, but this will only have a 1/5 chance of success, as the riders can swerve their boars out of the way. You can attack either the rider or the boar. Is there anything else you can think of to ignite in the surroundings?

Hogs are naturally afraid of fire and smoke, but if they feel too much pain, they will be driven into a mad frenzy.

Is there anything else you can think of?

Analee

Analee gave Talarin a nod when he said his dad would be alright and would eventually find them, and she knew it was true. His father was a tough man and if wasn't for him, who knew where Ashe would be right now.

As Talarin began to speak about the divided city, Analee sat down and reached in her bags and began to wrap her hands. The bleeding had seemed to slow down. Analee had heard of the divided city, but had never seen it. Actually, she hadn't really seen anything outside her village. Ever since the attack, her father never let her out to explore. This was the most adventure she has ever had.

"We should head to the divided city" she told him as she finished wrapping her hands. Slowly pushing herself up, she walked over to Talarin. "How far is it?" Analee knew that each of them had to be exhausted. If it was going to take a while to get there, maybe they should stop and make camp for the night.

Annie heard the girl in front of her told her to hold on and she did. She looked around as she was fighting and Gulzod saw that was in prison with. That made her feel relief to see him alive too. She yelled," I am happy to see your alive too Gulzod. Sounds good, please stay safe." She heard someone yelled,"don't let anybody else escape and to kill them!" She knew they were in deep trouble that's when she saw people in hogs chasing them and made her very scared. She realized that her sword won't work because there are still far away so, she shealth her sword and shot fire blasts at the ground so it would block their way to get them. -Dances-

Miranda "The Raven" Banner

Miranda held tightly into midnights reigns as she galloped through the group of Devils. She didn't see who called out but she heard it and quickly vetted to the left. Midnight barely squeezed through the opening. Once through, they made their way towards the gate house. Once they made it out, Miranda smiled but the smile quickly vanished when she saw the siege camp ahead. "You have got to be minding me" she mumbled.

Miranda kicked midnight on the sides to make him go faster. Midnight broke out into a cantor. Looking ahead, she saw different paths. Miranda quickly made the decision to diverge to the left. "Fire those fire ball things" she called out to the girl. She was actually coming in handy for Miranda. Too bad she worked alone.

Miranda quickly glanced back and saw the Devils gaining on her. "Come on boy!" She yelled, kicking midnight once again. Midnight broke into a gallop as they began to make their way down the simple dirt path on the left. Not to far ahead was a bridge. "Think you could use your fire to burn that bridge?" She asked the girl as they grew closer to it. If they could make it past it and burn it, they would be safe.

Poca kept holding on as they rode as fast as they can and shooting fire at the ground to keep them away. She also shot fire at the Devils hoping to kill them or hurt them. She head the girl question. She replied in a painful voice," Absolutely I can. That's a good idea to get away from them." -Dances-

Name: Gareth Wilhelm
Age: 24
Race: Human

Appearance: Gareth stands at approximately six foot three, with dark blond hair and dark green eyes. Overall, he could be described as relatively handsome, save for a scar running from under his left eye to the bottom of his cheek. He also has the beginnings of a beard.

Moving down to the rest of his body, Gareth is considerably well built, and more than capable of handling himself in combat. A few scars here and there prove that he has seen his fair share of combat.

Attire: Gareth's casual attire consists of a simple but well-made green tunic, some brown leather pants, and some sturdy leather boots.

Equipment: Gareth is clad in steel plate armor, no different from what a Gothic knight would wear, and he could easily pass for one if he wanted to (he doesn't.) His actual weaponry consists of a two-handed steel sword, made from high quality steel with a hilt wrapped in fine leather. In addition to this, he also wears a bright red cape.

Abilities: Militia Merchant.

Retinue: Bolag Groshub, an Orc Hunter. Joric Ironfist, a Dwarf Warrior. Darius Arenar, a Human Spellsword. All of which will have their own bios.

Backstory: Gareth was born in the Gothic Kingdom, the illegitimate son to a powerful Duke. But rather than cast the boy aside, the Duke instead took responsibility for the boy, ensuring that he was fed, taken care of, and educated. Naturally, this caused a scandal, and the Duke's wife was livid, going out of her way to mistreat him whenever she could get away with it. Eventually her rage began to fade, but she still looked at him with contempt whenever he walked past. And his actual sleeping conditions were only slightly better than that of a servant.

(continued)
Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.
