“I see your prowess has not left you, even in death.” Tsakirr mentioned, then moved his jawbone around for a second. “But we should leave this spot. The Darkbeasts can still hear us, and will be preparing a better attack. I was told by Morpheus that there is a powerful artifact at the top of your tomb, inside a secrete passage, an ancient device that can manipulate certain aspects of time for inanimate objects. Apparently, it was used to revert items back into their original form from the past, yet would not interfere with the current time. If you wish, we could go look for it, it would probably be useful, but I am willing to bet the Darkbeasts would then have enough time to reorganize another sally from their world.” he continued, then turned his head to look at the fog, which although was slowly fading away, Tsakirr was convinced it was still a potential threat.

What would Gideon decide? Now was surely not the time for asking questions, though Gideon did not know why Tsakirr released him in the first place, or what he planned to do. He could look for this relic, or simply leave the area...

With their summoner dead the remaining Darkbeasts were of little consequence to the pair of Unhallowed, and cleaning them up took little time that soon left them in a shrinking patch of darkness. Gideon's gaze swept across the landscape, scanning, but no longer did the beasts come for them. It was here that the Warlord expected to feel the inevitable surge of exhaustion that came following a rough battle, thus he was surprised to feel no different than he had before the battle had begun. He should not have been surprised, he knew what he was, but memories of war constantly pressured his mind and gave him expectations.

In this situation it was a powerful perk, being dead. Gideon need not eat, drink or even rest; he could march without end and reach a destination long before a living traveler, not to mention cut down waves of foes without succumbing to fatigue. Still, there was much missing that he could not replace, staring down at an armoured hand for a few short moments before Tsakirr's pipe-like voice drew his attention back up.

A decision had to be made, he realized. The Darkbeasts would return should they delay, but Tsakirr's mention of an artifact hidden at the top of Gideon's tomb brought pause to the tactical mind of the old warrior. Fleeing the vicinity would prevent further battle, grant an unspecified amount of reprieve where he could re-acclimatize to the world and learn more of the situation. However, an artifact that could reverse the time-worn properties of objects? The Warlord gazed down at his rusted armour and the worn maul in his grip, then thought back to the many broken weapons that lined his tomb.

Without equipment he would have far greater problems in subsequent fights. But there was another reason as well, buried deep down where he didn't want to admit it, couldn't bring himself to consider it on the surface of his mind; he was Gideon Steelwrought, and he did not flee from a battle.

" We... Fight... " Came his haunted whisper,

raising his gaze to meet Tsakirr's for a brief moment before, turning, he came to face his tomb again. An unpleasant sensation rose up within him at the sight of the crumbling ruins; once this was done, never again would he set foot within this place. He'd had more than enough of it for nearly two hundred years.

The intention was clear; they would find the artifact.

Salvatore heard the sounds of cannonfire coming from the left of the atakebune, and saw a smaller ship. But Nightstar couldn't make out who was in it, so Sally began to transform into his Angel form. Light enveloped them both as wings began to sprout from his back; he had to fly over there to take a closer look...

Then he told the guard who was alongside him, "Do you see that other ship there that just fired a cannon? Whoever that is, it can't be on their side, but if they're an enemy, I should be able to take them. I'm going to have a look at them."

Emily stopped her crossbow fire, and signalled for some of the guards near her to join her at the coast. When they reached her, they moved back behind some rocks near cliffs to hide, ready to ambush them. She murmured, "Alright, people. When the big ship comes ashore, I'm going to fire some gas bolts into the entrance that opens up. Then we're going to rush her from here, and I will lead the charge." The others said quietly, "Yes, ma'am!" The battle boar pawed the ground and snorted determinedly as Emily raised her crossbow, ready to charge.

The Orc was stationed not too far off the coast, on the edge of the woods, and the Apache pulled back a bowstring whose groans were barely distinguishable from the trees. The Apache warned the ork, "I can smell gunpowder. And that ship coming to shore is massive; it's like a fortress. We'd better stay on our toes tonight." The Orc nodded as he brandished a spear and shield, but then they heard a quiet rustle from a nearby bush. He raised his shield in front of him and spear above the shield, and said roughly, "Who's zair?" The whisper of the disturbed bush was followed by the glint of a bottle rising slightly as if to be thrown, flashing across the Orc's eyes...

Name: Nathaniel

Age: 19

Race: Human

Appearance: Measuring in at 6' 2'', Nathaniel cuts quite an impressive figure. His hair is black and wavy, and he ties it back in a ponytail. His eyes are an aquatic green, and on his right cheek is a claw mark from a vampire. He doesn't know what effect this has, but this is part of the reason why he generally keeps his distance from others. He also has a tattoo on his left forearm, of two hands shaking each other, the wrist on the left bearing the letter N and the right hand with the letter M.

Attire: Nathaniel wears a dark grey hooded robe with a red half-moon over the chest, and carries a simple ash staff for hiking. He also wears a necklace with an anchor engraved on it, given to him by his father.

Personality: Usually the loner type who prefers his own company, and normally keeps his distance as he considers himself an outsider. But there is a deeply caring side to him, and if someone is in genuine need he won't hesitate to help out. Quite a staunch man with a unique sense of justice.

Abilities: Novice Sorcery, Minor Hunting, Cunning Guile

Retinue: In his travels, he met a dwarf and a goblin deep in the woods to the southern Viking areas, who are working together to forge the perfect armour. Nathaniel saw an opportunity to test out his enchanting abilities as well as sympathising with their reasons for doing this, so he agreed to help them. In return, they agreed to help him find a certain someone.

Backstory: Nathaniel got separated from his little brother as a child after watching helplessly as his mother and girlfriend were burned at the stake for being witches, and was left terribly affected by what had happened that night. Just before their deaths, he was momentarily blinded by a white light, and through burnished images could just about make out a figure with wings and a halo falling to the ground. He never returned to the site again.

Bio (continued):

Prior to witnessing his loved ones being taken from him, his father had told him that there was a holy order based on a small Helen island known as Astriki, that had dedicated itself to the protection of mankind. But there was something dark twisting its purpose from the inside; a conspiracy of sorts. The members of the order who had dedicated their lives to a good cause were, according to him, being used by something malevolent for its own sinister means, and that some were attacking innocent civilians while convinced that they were fighting on a holy crusade. And now his goal is to discover the fate of the rest of his family, find out what's happening at the order, and protect as many people as he can as an outsider due to his being a Sorceror.

The dwarf, Gargendir, understands the importance of being frugal, as he grew up in a small settlement on a dormant volcano where, while having quite a lot of ores and jewels, they are hard to access due to a dragon living nearby, and everyone had to make the most out of whatever they could find. The dragon is a constant threat, so he journeyed away from the mountains to look for other ores and possibly magic to experiment with. Gargendir has studied many metals and rocks during his time in the mountains, and knows a fair bit about dragons too.

The goblin, Crusp, isn't the most educated being out there, but she has very good instincts that can always be trusted, and she has seen many things on her expeditions scratching a living out of whatever she could forage. She is quiet but very empathetic, and Nathaniel trusts her immensely.

Nathaniel had managed to reach Astriki in secret, and hid out in a small cave before venturing out at night to try and find his brother. Crusp had done a fantastic job in foraging the wood needed for the raft, and Gargendir worked well with placing metalwork in the tiny boat, which he had slowly hauled to shore hugging the cliff behind a rock, away from everyone else. He understood some of the patterns that the Holy Order of St. Ambrose had used in guarding this little island, but the appointment of a girl who was his own age was unexpected. Even more surprisingly, Nathaniel discovered that this girl had fought in wars before, and was a good tactician as well as a fierce fighter. He had to be careful if he were to find him here.

He was nearly there, and had seen the familiar glowing light from his memories of that awful night that haunted his dreams 3 years later. He had a feeling that it was the one he had been looking for, and was about to reach out to him until he rustled the bush and disturbed an Orc who was guarding the woods here. The Sorceror looked up and saw an Apache hidden in the tree behind the Orc, aiming a bow and arrow from the horizon towards the coast, turning directly to him as he crouched low behind his bush. "Damn," he whispered as he took out a bottle containing smoke.

The vial smashed at the Orc's feet, and smoke erupted as Nathaniel weaved past, staying within the fumes as they spread out and moving as quietly as possible. He was picking up stones and throwing them against trees to distract the guards as he crept on outside the woods, heading towards the cape. Then just as he reached the edge of the trees, he swept his hood over his head and got down to the ground, crawling low as the smoke dissipated. It was a very close call, and he couldn't afford to make many more mistakes.

Analee

There was no way to come back unless brought back by someone else. "Thank you for this gift and your guidance" she told Ikelos as she bowed her head in a respectful manner. " no, I do not seek out power, i just look for guidance on this sudden adventure I must embark on." With one final glance, she turned and began to walk away, closing her eyes and thinking of herself. Analee left the dream and woke back tonthenplacr she had laid down earlier.

How much time had passed? She didn't know. She opened her eyes and say up. Buruk was still sleeping by her side. Slowly pushing herself up, she stood and looked around for Talarin. "Talarin?" She called out. Analee began to move towards the sound of running water. She was well rested, maybe it was her chance to wash up.

Walking to the slow moving stream, she took off her dress, leaving on her undergarment, which was another light dress. Bending down, she began to wash her arms and face, washing off the dirt and ash from her adventures she just had.

Miranda "The Raven" Banner

Miranda looked around at the appearance of more darkbeast. Who were they? What did they want? "What do you want?" She asked. Just after she asked, her Raven crowed. She looked up at her Raven and then back at the darkbeast. "Can you speak?" Miranda didn't know what to do. Slowly, she began to step forward towards it, her eyes meeting the glowing white eyes. mirnfa stopped when the darkbeast began to walk sideways, making a circle around them.

Miranda let midnights reigns loose, allowing the horse to take off. "This is going to make you feel a little funny." She told the girl as she pulled her close to her body, looking as though she was hugging the girl. Not taking the chance, Miranda closed her eyes and thought of her home town, the only thing that came to mine.

Before she knew it, they vanished and appeared in a small, run down village.

Poca was unsure what to do about the creature. She already tried to talk to with no excess. She was about to attack the strange creature but the other girl hugged her and they teleported out of there and appeared at a run down village. It was the stranges feeling she ever felt. She looked at the girl and asked in a painful voice,"Where are we?" -Dances-

Gideon

Even though Gideon was a little uneasy at the sight of his tomb, he agreed to look for this relic, which would be quite useful, considering the status of his equipment. The Darkbeasts' shadows continued swirling, and stopped fading away, but it looked like it would soon regrow. Anyways, the two Unhallowed decided to look around.

* * *

Eventually, the two reached the top of the mausoleum, accessed via a stairwell inside the tomb somewhere. It led above the roof, revealing that a large tree had fallen across it, destroying a chunk of whatever used to be atop the roof. The ruins of a steeple lied along the ground nearby, where the fallen tree had smashed it down long ago sometime during Gideon's entombment.

“Hm, maybe the relic had fallen down with the tower?” Tsakirr remarked, but the two would look around up here first.

After rummaging around the rubble atop the mausoleum for a while, Tsakirr sometimes using his psychokinesis to move debris away, Gideon had a feeling. He stepped into the remains of the steeple and knelt at the back of it, paused a few seconds, and then punched through the flooring, masonry breaking apart and revealing a small, narrow chamber, ending with a little altar before a statue of some saint. Atop the altar was some sort of silver bracelet, twinkling with sparks, revealing that the bracelet appeared to be made of liquid, yet remained as a bracelet.

Tsakirr lifted his head briefly, and the bracelet glowed blue for a moment, then levitated towards Gideon, who promptly grabbed it when he could. He stood up and turned around, looking at the relic in his hand while under sunlight. The bracelet indeed looked like it was made of twinkling silvery liquid, yet always remained in the form of a bracelet. Gideon felt as though some of his thoughts were being imagined within the bracelet, as if it was an extension of his mind. Tsakirr seemed to be reading Gideon's thoughts.
