After felling the two elven soldiers, the devil approached Poca. Poca retaliated by swerving her sword right and left alternately. This resulted in a consistent flurry of attacks that would also parry, however, the devil had a glaive sticking in his body, so the shaft was sticking out and got in the way a bit. The devil turned, presenting his shield forth, blocking Poca's lunge for his heart. He then swung his war hammer sideways, intending to smash Poca's head, but since she was so short, she managed to duck and skip to the side, dodging the attack; the war hammer continued in its swung, causing the devil to spin with it a little.

Poca would not be able to defeat the devil in a head-on charge, due to he having a shield and being so big, and since his shield had spikes, it would be risky charging him at the front. For the time being, the devil's attack caused him to twirl a bit, leaving him slowed down for the moment...



Annie
Don't forget about Poca's major pyromancy; not only can fire burn, but its brightness can blind foes as well if aimed in front of the eyes.

The devil's shield is made of wood; if it catches fire, it will burn, forcing him to drop his shield.

The glaive is still rammed through the devil's chest, and so being a slight obstacle to frontal attacks; Poca may be able to manipulate the shaft to cause further harm.

Wounded, bleeding and wielding a very top-heavy weapon that is difficult to control, the devil is clumsy and weakening; if Poca can fake an attack or distract the devil in some way to make him swing first, she may be able to skip around passed the war hammer and attack from the sides. Alternatively, exposing yourself to a vulnerable position may entice the devil to charge recklessly.

The armoury has many weapons in its racks, more than enough to throw at the devil.

Analee

The tree-demon made an appearance that frightened Analee, and its roots went after them as well. Talarin ran with Analee once she grabbed his arm, but she fell, but got up. The demon's roots sunk and retracted by into the tree, and the demon continued crawling after the elves, Buruk running at the tree-demon and barking at it while running around. Analee yelled, wondering what the thing was.

“I don't know! Some sort of tree-demon!” Talarin yelled back, hearing the tree creaking as it crawled after the fleeing teens, its smile turning into a grin as its ember-like interior gleamed and smoked. The tree-demon seemed to be a strong phytomancer; covered with bark, it'd be quite a difficult opponent to chop down.

Roots from other trees emerged from the ground, rising to serve as obstacle for Analee and Talarin. Talarin stopped, turned around, and threw his javelin at the demon, hearing the javelin thud against its wooden body, but nothing really happened. The Dark Elf then withdrew his hatchet and started chopping at the very tall roots that flicked in his way.

It was still a decent run to the witch's hut, and the consistent roots kept getting in the way. Analee felt the roots rise as high as she was tall, feeling the roots poke into her hair and face, try to wrap around her limbs, and just be a nuisance. She heard the tree-demon laughing and breathing heavily, its body consonantly creaking as it moved.

Buruk bit the tree-demon's roots here and there, and every time the demon tried to attack Buruk, the wolf would quickly dart off, avoiding the tree-demon's arms and roots. Irritated, the tree-demon pushed an arm into the ground, and ripped out a root, holding it like a whip, and he flicked it forth, and struck Analee in the back of the neck. She cried out from surprise and pain, then the demon's whip wrapped around her neck, pulling her off her feet!

Feeling herself drag backwards, Talarin jumped upon the whip, grabbing it with one hand and chopping at it with his hatchet, his weight stifling the whip. The tree-demon laughed aloud, pulling on his whip with both hands, the movement causing Analee to drag through Talarin's legs and trip him. The lad fell over and hit his head against a hard root, and was somewhat stunned for the moment.

Suddenly, Buruk leapt upon the tree-demon, biting and pawing at his face, and distracting him. Analee felt herself stop, but the root-whip was still around her neck, tight enough to stay on, but she could still breathe.

Analee recalled she had an axe and knife with her. Her psionics allowed her to emit forceful bursts of power from the power of her thoughts, and provided mental projection. She could not read the mind of the tree-demon, as it's magic was a greater tier than her psychic abilities, but she had to act quickly before Buruk got himself hurt.

Poca saw that the devil was going to smash her head with its war hammer but was able to duck and skip to the side the attack. She saw the war hammer continued in its swung, causing the devil to spin with it a little. She used that opportunity to splash some oil from her container on the devil as she went deeper in the armory. She started to throw daggers,spears,axes, and any other weapons she can find to throw at the devil hoping to hit it. As she was throwing weapons, she shot fire wave at the devil hoping to burn it and blind it. -Dances-

As Analee ran, she could feel the roots picking her neck, tiring to wrap it's roots around her. What could she do? She had never seen anything like this before. The next thing she knew, the demon tree pushed into the ground and pulled out a whip.

Analee heard the whip as he pulled back to flick it. The next thing she knew, she felt pain as the whip made contact with her next. Analee cried out in pain. It was unlike anything she had ever felt. Suddenly, the whip wrapped itself around her neck. Analees legs were still moving as she was pulled backwards. Her hands reached up around her neck as she tried you'll the whip from her neck.

She watched as Talarin jumped up on the whip and try to break her free. The tree demon let out a chilling laugh as he pulled thenwhopnwoth both hands, causing Analee to be pulled beaneath Talarins legs, causing him to fall the ground. "Talarin" she mumbled softly. She could barley breath but atleast she could.

While Buruk was distracting the tree demon, it gave Analee a moment to focus and try and figure a way to get herself out of this situation. Reaching around in her side, she fumbled around for her knife. What would a knife do against this demon. Closing her eyes, she tried her best to project imagines into the demons mind. But if what? The only thing she could think of that would help was brightness. Evil seemed not to enjoy the sunlight.

Poca threw a plethora of weapons at the devil: daggers, axes, spears and whatever else struck its shield, and rarely struck his legs, or bounced along the rim of the shield and flew off somewhere. Preoccupied with blocking the projectiles, and still impaled by a glaive that induced bleeding, the devil received a wave of flames to the face. Although he raised his shield at the incoming heat, the fire flowed over the rim of the shield, and burned the devil's face. The heat and brightness forced him to close his eyes with a growl, leaving him blinded for the moment...

The elven soldier knocked out by the devil earlier groaned, and moved a little, but was still dazed.



Annie,
Blinded by the fire for a moment, Poca can now attack the vulnerable devil; remember that he is still carrying his shield, so the left half of his front is still protected.





Analee

Pulled off her feet and having a whip around her neck, Analee was in a struggle. Buruk still pawed and gnawed at the tree-demon, growling, and Analee attempted to use her psychic abilities to interfere with its thoughts. She didn't know what happened, as the tree-demon was beyond her, but it was distracted further, turning around for some reason, and Buruk leapt at it, clasping his jaws over the demon's face and holding on midair! However, the demon kept holding onto his whip, but now had no control of it...

Talarin shook his head, dazed, but would soon recover...



Wolfpack,
Analee can use her knife or axe to cut through the whip, it looks thin enough to not be too hard.
Mental projection allows the psionic to cause handheld items to materialize out of thin air. Since Analee dropped her bow when she fell unconscious from the Darkbeasts, and now had it again, she seems to have unconsciously summoned her bow back to her by the power of her thoughts.
Default psionics enables the user to emit mental blasts of forceful energy, similar to what Jedi and Sith utilize in StarWars.

Analee was in a struggle, the whip still around her neck. Buruk was still fighting the tree demon, distracting the demon from Analee. Closing her eyes she tried to think of a way to free herself. Suddenly, out of thin air, her axe appeared in her hand. Tighting her grip, she began cutting at the whip to free herself. The whip was fairly thin so it didn't take long for her to cut through it.

With one final cut, the whip broke and Analee fell to the ground with a thud. Inhaling a deep breath, she quickly unwrapped the whip from her neck. Pushing herself up, she faced the demon, who currently had its back facing her. What could they do? She didn't know her full potential at her psychic ability.

Buruk let out a whine as the tree demon finally reached him, tossing him to the side. "No Buruk!" She yelled. She lifted up her hand as though she could stop the demon from hurting Buruk. As she did, the tree demon moved back a few feet. What had just happened? Did she do this?

Poca saw the weapons that she threw at the devil wasnt hitting him because of that dang shield. It made her very frustrated. Then she saw that her fire hit it and made it blind even its a moment and made her very happy. She took this opportunity to get she move to the devils right that wasnt protected by armor and stabbed the demon as fast an elf trying to hit its hip that it wont be fast enough to block her attack. As she tried to stabbed it in her hips, she drew a dagger and tried to stab it in the neck. -Dances-

Her axe briefly glowed white, and appeared in Analee's hand, so she freed herself by chopping through the root-whip, and then realized she had a little more potential with her psionics than she realized.

Talarin got up, a little dizzy from hitting his head against a hard root when he fell, but able to stand. The many roots that once attacked everyone seemed to subside in activity; when the tree-demon was distracted, the roots stifled in efficiency. The tree-demon's jaw made a cracking noise as it moved around, then the demon howled, crawling forwards with its arms, constantly creaking, its interior of embers brightening up, smoke and cinders flowing out the demon's mouth.

“Here he comes!” Talarin shouted, but was unsure of what to do. He gripped his axe in both hands, hacking at the now-stifled roots trying to grab his legs.

The javelin Talarin threw into the tree-demon was still stuck in its body. Analee noticed that embers slowly dripped out where the javelin penetrated. If she could somehow forcefully cause the javelin to suddenly jerk in either direction...

Poca's pyromancy kept the devil blind, so she cleverly went to the right side, where the shield did not cover, and stabbed into the devil's side with as much quickness as possible, and also cast a fireball at it. Although very short and lithe, Poca's smallness meant she was quick, and the blade plunged up to the hilt; aiming for the neck was too high and too risky, so she instead rammed her dagger into the devil's abdomen. The fire she cast blasted, burning the devil and setting his robe on fire.

The elven soldier sat up, still dazed and hurt, but alive. He saw that the devil had been pierced by two weapons now, so the devil's internal organs were damaged enough to cause him to fall over, still burning. Poca pulled her sword out of him. The devil somewhat kicked his legs as he burned up. If Poca wanted, she could take his shield for herself.

“Hey you!” the eleven soldier said as he picked himself up, using his glaive as a crutch. “Whoever you are, I could use your help. The courtyard is crawling with enemies, but the double doors here are blocked off.” he continued, then looked at the dead elven soldier, “I can't help him now... We need to run back up the stairwell and fight our way through the interior, before the Vaal'Amar swarm the entire place and kill us all. Let's go!” the soldier said, not giving Poca a chance to speak, then immediately jogged to the stairwell and went up it.
