Poca listened to the conversation between Raven and this stranger. She kept following the group. She looked around and amazed how beautiful it was. She trusts Raven but unsure about this stanger but kept following. She heard what the stranger said to raven and herself. She said with a smile,"Sounds like a good plan to me." -Dances-

Gideon

After the arm began pulling back, Gideon let go of his halberd and now wielded a military pick and a large breitschwert. He leapt out the window and drove his military pick into the wrist before the palm, spike embedding as much as possible. Sabatons pressed against the limb while he held onto his pick, and climbed his way upwards while slicing his way up with his blade, intending to carve this damn thing apart. Although it could not be felt, shadowy smoke flowed out, perhaps the equivalent of blood.

Meanwhile, Tsakirr continued his spinning attacks, his demonic magic also shredding the exterior of the shadowy arm, and constantly cutting into it, the two Unhallowed somewhat working together, though Gideon was the main carver in this attack. The arm and its finger-arms writhed, swiping side to side, Tsakirr dodging its attacks, but the arm did slam down upon him, Gideon holding on regardless. Tsakirr's demonic magic fluttered down upon he being knocked down.

Tsakirr now pancaked into the ground, the arm was too damaged to raise itself easily, so Gideon continued his carving, hearing wet thuds as his blade disconnected tendons, ligaments and joints. Thus, Gideon felt he could soon sever the forearm however he pleased, seeing as the opening he made was now big enough to allow him to enter the limb. The arm now disabled, unable to move much and only manage to lift by using it forearm only, Gideon could carve it however he wished...

George,
You can control how Gideon defeats the arm; after it's defeated, the remaining ends will slide back into the shadowy portal, and the rest dissolve into smoke.

After, you can investigate the shadowy portal from where the Darkbeasts emerged from, or continue to speak with Tsakirr for more conversation, or do whatever you wish.

Poca and Miranda

Eventually, Hawk seemed to accept Poca as part of this trio. Neither Hawk nor Miranda seemed to have heard Poca's suggestion of crossing via the slanted tree, but Poca changed her mind and followed along.

“You're not even gonna help me cross this river?” the Arbor asked, looking up while sitting down, but everyone didn't seem to care about him. “Waww, waww.” the Arbor wheezed, watching the three walk on. “Hm... I just have to think, and put more effort into this... I can't swim, but I can float, wait, no, that wouldn't work, and those bushy animals won't let me across...”

Up ahead, the dam looked decent enough to cross. Miranda and Hawk were the first, followed by Poca. They heard another mrowing growl coming from the trees behind them, followed by clawing noises and shaking branches. At the same time, they also heard some splashing, coming from the other side of the dam. A few seconds later, several Arktoideas appeared, popping their heads out from the edge of the dam (the side where the river ran into), their paws on the dam, and they all shook themselves strongly, fur flicking water about.

The Arktoidea was a race of mammalian creatures, who evolved like humans, and were quite short, around four feet tall, in the likeness of weasels, otters, and badgers, or whatever. They sniffled and wiggled their noses. One of the Arktoideas slightly picked himself up, so that his chest pressed over the ledge of the dam, revealing he wore some mail armour made from bronze, which made sense, as bronze cannot rust.

“What are you doing? Get off our home!” the mail-clad Arktoidea squeaked angrily, then made a growling shout, and a few seconds later, three more Arktoideas appeared, jumping out the water and landing atop the dam, wearing bronze mail armour for the torso and head, and armed with wooden shields and bronze-headed axes.

“Mmhhihaww-waw-waw-waw wwaww wow!” one of the Arktoidea-guards threatened with very unimpressive vocalization of some sort. The Arktoideas looked more like big teddy bears than threats, but their beaver-like front teeth looked painful... It didn't seem the Arktoideas would let anyone pass their turf easily...

“See? Told you.” the Arbor cheeped from the distance, barely audible.

Perhaps there was a clever way through this situation? Magic may be useful.

Analee

When Talarin looked back, he blushed as well, but was glad that his blueish skin helped hide some of it. He briefly rubbed his nose with his sleeve.

“The plan? Uhh, well, I guess we keep going. We gotta save your stolen people one way or another, by finding this king or whatever, so I'm willing to bet folks at the Divided City would know more about his whereabouts. Lots of people explore the Divided City just for ancient relics, I'm sure they'll know something.” Talarin spoke as Analee drew in the ground with her stick.

Timeskip about a week...

The travelling wasn't too fun, with Talarin at times having to climb tall trees to look ahead and see what was up. But, both the elves were hunters, and Analee could sense where to find useful herbs and plants, so they remained fed and healthy on a diet of poultry, berries, and edible plants. It was quite fun, without having adults to keep kids back or at home, and the two teens rather enjoyed the adventure. They would see various kinds of animals and weird plants once in a while, so overall, things were fun. Buruk and Bane also helped in hunting, catching smaller game.

The ruins of the Divided City were eventually visible, as some were quite huge, like ruins carved into small mountains and having rivers running through them. The ruins seemed to be the outskirts, which were heavily forested and overgrown, the canopy having batches of thick, long vines.

Sometimes, Talarin crossed rivers by swinging on branches, Analee following suit, Buruk swimming as he was a strong animal, but sometimes nearly was lost to the current, so Analee would threw a long vine for Buruk to bite onto and drag him to the riverside, and the journey continued.

Suddenly, the two elves heard a roaring noise from the skies, so they instinctively looked up, as did Buruk. Up above was some sort of flying ship, looking like a small battleship, about a hundred feet long and thirty feet wide at the centre, the ends narrowing. The battleship had walls and a roof, but apparently flew through the air on its own! It had holes here and there, with canons sticking out them, and flames and smoke fuming out a few holes. Lots of smoke drifted out the top of the ship, which seemed to have a large opening, though whatever it contained was not visible.

The flying ship seemed to be crashing, as it gradually descended, size and weight breaking through some branches, until it soon disappeared beyond sight, breaking through the canopy a few hundred feet away. Talarin just stared without saying anything, having never seen a flying ship, and not knowing how to react...

Wolf,
Analee can speak of investigating the crashing flying ship, or continue the journey, or anything else you can think of.

Gideon knew that his victory was at hand... Pun not intended. His blade tore into the shadowy limb with gusto, ripping through the equivalent of tendons and muscles that further weakened the construct. Eventually the great hand dropped atop Tsakirr, smushing the other Unhallowed into the ground, but was unable to lift itself after doing so due to the damage inflicted upon it. Thus the battle was now nothing more than a choice of how to bring it down permanently.

Tearing his broadsword free of the drooping mass of shadow-flesh, now far more horizontal due to its hand's fallen status, the Warlord sank the spiek of his pick into it once more and pulled himself around to climb atop the limb, planting his boots firmly onto the surface and standing atop it like a conquering hero. He allowed his pick to drop from his grasp, instead taking hold of the broadsword with both hands and driving it down into the wrist once again. With the strength behind the blade now practically doubled it became a far simpler task to carve to the sides, ripping through the weakened mass and slashing out through the side.

Again he brought it down, slashing through the opposite side, driving the blade into it and through it again and again until the hands was completely severed. Gideon had no need to perform flashy moves or unnecessary theatrics, choosing only to finish the battle in the most efficient way available to him. With one final stab the weight of the hand could no longer be supported by what remained, and the last of the flesh and tendons snapped as it completely collapsed. The Warlord jumped down from atop the fallen limb before it began to dissipate, both ends quickly beginning to get dragged backwards into the dark portal they had appeared from.

With no further immediate threats there was a chance for them to reorient themselves, leading the warrior to reach out and help up his fellow Unhallowed from the sunken handprint in the ground. Behind him, likely called upon in the

subconscious of Gideon's mind, his armaments drifted out from within the tomb in what almost appeared to be a marching order. They levitated down as he finished helping up Tsakirr, only then turning to see them planting themselves in the earth before him, lined up with their blades and heads sunk slightly into the dirt, handles raised into the air.

It had not been obvious before with the shattered remains of them all lining his tomb, but there were far more weapons than any one man would hope to use in a lifetime. Swords and daggers of all different lengths, mighty axes and heavy-headed maces, polearms, hammers, hefty shields and vicious scythes... Had it all been visible in full glory during the immediate opening of his tomb, it would likely have appeared as more of a well-stocked armoury. Seeing it all before him, restored and whole, brought mixed feelings to the former Warlord.

However, such an armoury would no longer be able to serve him. Without a place to keep his many weapons, only what could be fit on his person, he would be forced to leave most of them behind in this old, forgotten place. No doubt there would be far more combat in his future if his awakening was any indication, but now the quiet Unhallowed was forced to decide what he would carry with him from here on out.

It was... A far harder decision than he had ever expected.

The Four Mercenaries

It had been Darius's suggestion to come to the Divided City.

Gareth, upon hearing more of it, had agreed. Such a place would have great dangers, it was true, but for mercenaries that always meant opportunity - brigands that needed to be slain, and many down-on-their-luck but otherwise healthy and strong men to enlist. Between Gareth's steady income and the aforementioned opportunities, they would easily be able to raise enough men to form a good sized group.

Now, he almost wanted to curse Darius's name as he stared down a dagger, glaring through his visor at the piece of common gutter trash who so casually threatened him.

And then Joric intervened, splitting the filth's skull in two. Gareth immediately went for the two-handed sword on his back, prepared for the other men to swarm them, but then a whole new group of horned strangers joined the fray!

Gareth drew his sword with a shing , steel glimmering in the daylight. He advanced towards the nearest brigand, who had been briefly distracted by the new arrivals, and swung his blade between neck and shoulder, cutting deep into the cutthroat's flesh. He kicked the worthless scum off his blade with complete and utter disdain. "Kill them all!" He shouted.

Unfortunately, in the time it took him to deal with that one man, two others had recovered from the initial shock of the surprise attack, and turned to face him. Bolag's arrow quickly found its way into the man's throat, the Orc grinning viciously at the sudden escalation of violence. Then Joric charged in and bashed the other man with his shield before spilling his guts with his axe. "You're all over the place!" He shouted.

Darius, meanwhile, had seized the opportunity to summon a fire elemental. Immediately recognizing him as a mage, three men charged towards him. Bolag quickly brought another down with an arrow, but the other two moved in to attack Darius!

Darius reacted quickly. He ducked under a swing from one man and parried a lunge from another. However, such a maneuver had thrown him off balance, and he would be unable to block the next swing.

Suddenly, a torrent of fire breath washed over one of them. The man screamed as his clothes were quickly set alight. The other turned, surprised, which gave Darius time to recover, and he wasted no time in running the attacker through with his sword.

Bolag had been able to fire off two more arrows, bringing down one man and wounding another, before being forced to bring out his two axes, mercilessly hacking away at his opponents.

But despite their initial successes, and boundless confidence, the four men knew they were outnumbered and facing off against impossible odds. They and Darius's fire elemental quickly closed ranks together, forming a small circle, and they held that position, attacking any who approached them. "When I yell 'step', take one step in my direction!" Gareth yelled. "Step!"

The entire group, Gareth included, took one step, moving slightly, but not much. Gareth parried another attack, before kicking his foe in the knee and running him through. "Step!"

Their plan would immediately become clear. Each step brought them closer to the edge of the mob, but since they all moved roughly the same distance and in the same direction, it allowed them to stay organized and fight as a unit, without being overwhelmed one by one.
