You have me up until the class system West, which I can see in an actual game but I'm uncertain as to how it would pan out in a roleplay. But maybe that's because I'm unimaginative..

How the class system is interpreted would be left open to the individual - if someone wants to abuse the bishops self-healing and buffing abilities to become a blood knight, then why not? There's also nothing against an archer knight who pewpew's magical swords, or a king who marches first into battle.

In keeping with the RPG spirit, I would like for the thread to have classes and roles. Seventy random powerless people dumped on the kingdoms shores won't help anybody - and tracking different variations of classes (because my class is different 'cause my bow shoots exploding rainbow cats) could be an eyesore. In keeping with that, I challenge you to come up with a reasonable class or sub-class who doesn't fit under those classes I provided.

In regards to things like levels and xp, I've learned this is where forum roleplays used to err. While I would like for them to exist, they'll likely only be a conversational topic or occasionally used for drama (ZOMG that boss is level 80 and we're only level 5!).

The game will also likely be on a grander scale than modern games, with an endless numbers of rare skills, items or effects one can obtain. If you can imagine it, it's probably a reward from some well-hidden sidequest or dungeon/raid.

... I really hope I haven't overcomplicated it. O_o

Honestly Annie that's made my night. Kudos.

I hope you don't use such shoddy grammar when you post!

I can't promise you anything, I feel inspired to write at the same time of day that I am tired enough to make casual mistakes. My 3/4AM posts are truly abhorrent to look back upon, as I miraculously replace the words I want to use with words not even slightly relevant to the topic or similar to the one I had originally intended to put.

So Angel, will that Into the Fire post be coming out soon, or is there still a while to go?

Just asking because I don't want to be waiting around for something that still has an hour to go.

I've written up everything I need for Hag Coven and March of Darkness. I'm writing for Encampment of the Empire now, and seeing as Azi doesn't appear to be around, I can post that and write Bowels of the Earth after so that you've got something to see. Though as Inferi has alluded to, I might be a little while, so maybe popping back in would be your best option.

Yes that is confusing.

You've appeared in an fantasy medieval-esque kingdom in the body of your (possibly half elf) avatar. However, trouble quickly arises - allowing for an ample opportunity for you to use your new abilities. You are quickly recognised a King, Queen, Bishop, Knight, Rook or Pawn - a hero summoned to this land to save everyone from the Demon hoard every 2nd month.

Each piece has a unique ability, for example, Knights have innate magical resistance while Bishops and Queens have excellent magical capabilities. All of these pieces are supposed to serve to protect the king, who happens to be the only piece capable of permanently killing the demon lords.

Outside of this, it would be your typical roleplay in a world large enough that anything might happen.

Does that simplify things? O_o
