After playing the beginning of Dragon Age Origins as a commoner Dwarf, I have come to the following conclusion.

The Dwarfs of Thedas are jerks.

After playing Dragon Age 2, I've come to expect dwarves to be jerks in general.

Fun fact. "Dwarves", the way of spelling for Dwarfs in a fantasy setting, originated from Tolkien's book, The Hobbit. Funny thing is, Tolkien himself admitted that 'dwarves' was a typo on the publisher's part, and many reviewers pointed it out as well. Yet somehow the term stuck. Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.

Today's RP Tip Request:

How do you generally deal with situations where characters know each other prior to the creation of the character?

My question stems from Infinity, where it can be assumed that all characters earlier than 75ish have already met. More specifically, I just realized that George's character Red and my character Josie are subjects 22 and 23; they've been in an underground facility together for quite some time now. I'm not sure how to go about writing a post where they interact for the "first time".

My posts so far with Westenev have implied that the two characters have talked a bit before and are at least friendly. Is that the assumed situation with everyone?

if the other rper/s haven't hinted at or established any kind of relationship you have freedom to do whatever you want. people will almost always roll with w/e you state (that they're enemies/friends)

it's easy to decide if you think about what kind of company your char would keep. are they more introverted or more extroverted, etc.

as a rule i'd say it's good to have at least one person your char dislikes. what matters most is that some kind relationship can form, either b/c two chars are on speaking terms due to being friends or because they're enemies and their antagonism makes stuff happen. chars should be mutual foils for all other characters

the ideal is to eventually have an opinion on everybody imo. indifference is usually uninteresting

Where would the world be if Alexander the Great hadn't partied himself to death?

Or been poisoned. Depends on what you believe, really.

Anyways, where would we be?
