"Griselda's decision to carry a body with her was perhaps not the smartest move."
She is using the body as a shield to prevent being put on fire by the spellwarrior. If all he needs to do is point a few fingers to engulf someone, a portable shield of some sort is the only immediate protection from the fiery pointing.

"while her armour would protect her from cuts, it would not protect her from movement or blunt force."
Plate armour has excellent defence against blunt force trauma.
I don't know what the lack of protection from movement is about, though.

Yes, but bodies are heavy, and you're only using one hand, and you're also dragging this thing across an unsteady deck while people are attacking you from more than one side.

But it's not impenetrable against blunt force.

That said, blunt force isn't particularly relevant in this situation, given that most people are wielding blades.

Poor wording on my part. What I meant was, if someone or something that is sufficiently heavy comes flying into you at a high enough speed, it can still knock you over.

Annie,
I'm okay. Waiting for the inspector to come over and inspect my wood stove. Once it's inspected, it will be legal to burn fires in it. Just in time for winter. Will finally be able to cook and heat traditionally. Split a bunch of wood yesterday, found pine and spruce pre-cut stump-size logs piled off the road, so I figured to take em home. Now, I have less chainsawing to do. So yay.

NotFishing,
Okay, thanks for clarifying the points, I struggled this time. I will try to post tomorrow night.

Hmm, if I wanted to put Elyssia back into the story, would I pick up where I left off, or simply discuss her reasons for arriving late here and simply have her turn up?

I mean, Elyssia is basically a little princess, so she definately wouldn't catch the group in a long distance walk. The only thing I need is motive to travel the roads alone(?) at night - given that she has no combat skill, perhaps she could bring healing items from the tavern? Though, I guess I could understand if the Tavernkeeper or the cloaked woman had other ideas, or couldn't spare the time or resources.
