I made more edits. Added abbreviations list, updated table of contents, clarified that axes cannot inflict +1 Durability Damage to metal shields but Crushing weapons can, for example.

Also added a table that helps suggest Damage of firearm projectiles:

Before I comment, I just attempted to shoot a scale armoured barberian five times in the body with a revolver. Range was 10m.Unfortunate, really. Anyways, would you mind running a few rolls for me?

Gunman vs Barbarian

Relevant Data

Barbarian and Gunman assumed to each have 10 CON, Barbarian has 5 DEX and Gunman has 5 Aim, all other Attributes irrelevant. Barbarian equipped with 3-pound battleaxe and unspecified Scale Armor. Gunman only has Revolver and Attire.

Revolver 9, -4 DMG to CON, -.5 Accuracy per consecutive shot, Accuracy defends on Dexterity of pistoleer, DEX assumed 5 = 5/10 chance to hit

10 metres = Melee Phase, no Accuracy modification

Other: historic revolvers fire with great velocity, that being the reason Revolvers do 9 DMG. However, due to many historic accounts of revolvers failing to subdue target, Revolvers do -4 CON DMG if connects.

Scale Armor (assumed not worn over Soft Armor) has 6 Pierce Defence, but Revolver does 9 DMG, so Revolver can Pierce Scale Armor. Scale Armor not bulletproof; cannot prevent penetration by bullets.

Durability:
Body Armor 40
Limb Armor 30
Head Armor 30



Melee Phase

Barbarian charges Gunman from space of ten metres. If Speed is 16, Barbarian can reach Gunman in 1 second, assumed that there is at least two seconds of time between the two. Trigger takes about 1 second to pull, so two shots of Revolver allowed this turn.

Gunman fires at Barbarian’s torso, Barbarian has 0 AGI = cannot dodge, Gunman has 5 Aim = 5/10 chance for Gunman to hit, so number 1 - 5 = success, any other number = miss. The # randomly chosen is 2 = hit = 9-4 DMG to CON, Barbarian has 5 CON. Scale Armor -1 DUR = 39 DUR. Barbarian in critical condition, but not being tired, stats are not penalized. Gunman fires again but now has -.5 accuracy for next turn, but since random number generator does not have decimals, no changes. Next # is 6, so Gunman’s second shot misses.

Barbarian swings 3-pound battleaxe, 5 DEX = 5/10 chance to hit, # rolled is 6 (6 again? Or did I not click on generate number?) = miss, the Barbarian literally misses his swing.

Since no other action is described, turn ends.

Crucifix Phase

Crucifix = +10 Accuracy for Revolver, as Revolvers can be used at point-blank. Since both are face-to-face, they will attack each other at the same time. Gunman fires, 5/10 DEX + 10 = 15/10 to hit, so 100% chance to shoot. # chosen is 9 but this was not necessary, seeing as Gunman had a 100% chance to hit anyways. Barbarian swings again, # chosen is two, thus Barbarian deals 3 DMG to Gunman’s torso, Gunman now has 7 CON. Second gunshot deals another 9 DMG, overdamaging by 9-4 points = Barbarian immediately shot dead.

The Gunman, wins!


Added new feature:

Improvised Weapon
This occurs when a tool or object is used as a weapon, even though it's not intended to hit things. Improvised Weapons deal Damage equal to half its weight.
For example, pistol whipping would do DAM equal to half the pistol's weight, because a pistol is not made to hit with.
A chair weighing at four pounds, if used as an Improvised Weapon, would deal 2 Crush Damage, as chairs are not designed to hit people.
A fallen branch weighing at six pounds, if used as an Improvised Weapon, would deal 3 Crush Damage, as branches did not grow to be used as weapons.

However, tools such as a pickaxe, sledgehammer, hatchet, or mattocks, would not suffer a halved Damage penalty, because they are already designed to hit things with anyways.



Also added this to Build,
Total weight of handheld equipment (weapons, shields, guns, etc.) cannot exceed 1/5 of your body weight.

Updated Firearm Damage table again, has a bit more details.

OK, did a few more edits and improvements. Will continue doing tweaks and additions here and there, but I may not have enough time to reconstruct the duel sequence.

If anyone has any ideas for Abilities, which tend to cost Stamina, or have ideas for Perks, which are constant effects, feel welcome to post them.

I wouldn't count it as dead if I were you just yet. George is who I'm waiting for, and since he said he'd post once he could there'll probably just be a bit before that happens. Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.
