Garth pointed the blade of the scimitar in his left hand down and flung his hand towards Kargill. A metal whip-like chain with sharp pointed teeth detaching from around his protected wrist and hooked Kargill's staff snug around the center. The assassin pulled back his arm and the staff propelled out from Kargill's hands and landed with a thud on the ground behind the assassin. He pulled his hand back once more, and with a flick of the wrist, sent the chain flying back towards Kargill with immense speed. A red haze of blood and a yelp of pain filled the air as the weighted chain tore into the elf's forearm, which he instinctively held up in defense.
The chain once again returned to Garth and he moved forward with a sudden burst of speed. He let loose a low stab to the legs with his first scimitar while simultaneously attacking with a sideways slash from the second. Kargill expertly flipped his sword around and just managed to stop the two attacks. The elf held out his open palm and several balls of flames discharged from his hand and towards the assassin. Again, the magical attacker wavered and splashed against an unseen force.
"What the hell?” Kargill asked, backing away from his opponent.
“I may not be much of a mage, but I can sure put up a good barrier,” Garth laughed.
“Can you take his barrier down?” Roven asked the amazed Kargill.
“I can, but you will have to hold him off for a minute," replied Kargill. He pulled out a vial of liquid poured it onto three of his throwing knives, muttering an incantation the entire time.
"My pleasure."

Roven bolted towards Garth and swung his heavy weapon around like a pocket knife. Sparks flew as the blade clashed into the assassin's defenses. Garth countered with a quick stab, but it could not pierce Roven’s thick dragon armor. He let out another swift jab with his blade, again barely scathing the surface of Roven's armor.
The two fighters backed away from each other. Roven was dumbfounded. Even with the obvious size and equipment differences, Garth was able to match his strength tier for tier. The world around the two just seemed to fade away. All they saw was each other.
Roven stepped in towards Garth and used a mid-level sideways attack. Garth blocked the massive sword, but was knocked off balance as Roven assaulted Garth with a clobbering punch from his shield followed by a low kick. Garth fell to the ground as his feet swept out from under him.

Garth drove his heels into the earth and backwards crab-walked away while he held up his free scimitar in defense. Roven let out a flurry of quick slashes at the downed Garth as he tried to get back up on his feet.
He managed to get his feet under him and he charged at Roven with an amazing speed. Roven let out a cry as Garth cut him deep across his shoulder and his bicep. He could hear the sickening slicing as the scimitar penetrated through his flesh and muscle.
The assassin turned for another strike, but was cut off as a tingling pain ran up and down his side. Protruding from his protected chest were three throwing knives. The almost invisible magical barrier around Garth waned and disappeared.
Garth knocked Roven to the ground and set his gaze upon Kargill. He bolted towards Kargill and attacked with a sideways slash. Kargill jumped backwards but was unable to completely avoid the blade, leaving an incision across his torso.

Garth lunged out at the dazed mage with both of his scimitars, clipping Kargill’s shoulder and scarring his crystal sword as the mage tried to block the attack. Kargill just seemed to ignore the wound. He was too caught up in the moment to feel the pain, too focused on recovering the crystal in his father's staff to think about anything else. He hurled his body passed the assassin and dove towards his battle staff. With his natural elfin speed, he easily beat Garth to the weapon.
Kargill retaliated with his newfound weapon, leaving a crushing blow into Garth's hip. He pulled back and lowered his staff and sent a jolt of lightning into the assassin. Garth felt his muscles twitch violently as the electrical current surged through him. Again and again he lowered his staff, sending thousands of volts of electricity through the assassin.
This did nothing but further anger Garth. He knocked the elf's staff aside like it was nothing and delivered a powerful round-house kick right under Kargill’s jaw. Garth then stepped in between the elf’s legs and used the hilt of his scimitar to knock Kargill to the ground. He felt pain surge through his lower back before his could strike the elf down. He had been pierced from the side by Roven’s broad sword. It had punctered through his first few layers of armor and into his ribcage. He could hear the snapping of cartilage as Roven’s round shield connected with his nose, knocking the assassin off his feet. Before Garth could react, a pillar of ice sped towards him, the tip of it protruding from the ground like a shark's fin. It rose up from the ground at the last second and caught his entire body in the attack.

Garth lay on the ground, dazed by the pain. His nostrils filled with smoke as he realized the ground all around him had been lit on fire. Thick smog met with the smoke and began to infuse all around him. Curse that elf. Kargill and Roven stood outside the contained circle of smoke. Kargill was using a combination of his smoke and fire magic in an attempt to suffocate the assassin.
As the smoke began to settle, Kargill and Roven were surprised to see the assassin standing upright in the center, seemingly unharmed.
Kargill fired several more blue spheres of magical energy at Garth. Garth held out his scimitars together in the shape of an 'X' and braced himself for the blows. Kargill was like a machine gun, hitting Garth with a constant stream of magical attacks, yet the assassin held firm. Kargill could feel the energy be draining from his body with each individual attack. Exhaustion soon overcame Kargill, and he took a knee on the ground. He was panting heavily.
“Is this guy invincible or something?" Roven muttered to Kargill. "He just won't stay down."
Garth just stood their. Hate was brewing inside him. How dare these fools dare stand against him? He slid his left scimitar into its sheathe and replaced it with his dagger. He did not want to use it, but it looked like he had no choice.

Something about Garth had changed; Kargill could see it plain as day. Roven was unable to sense it seeing as he was a human, but Kargill could clearly see the aura around Garth's body begin the change.
Roven lowered his soldiers and sped towards the assassin. Roven was only a few feet from Garth now, ready to take him to the ground. Garth dropped to his back and grabbed Roven firmly by both of his shoulders as he came near. The assassin jammed his foot in Roven’s stomach, and then threw him into the air. Roven crashed into the ground and violently rolled several times before finally stopping.
Garth walked over to his down foe and jabbed his dagger in between his two upper ribs. The warrior cried out in pain as the blade punctured through his armor and grated against his plates of bone.
“Stop right there!” Kargill yelled. A pillar of ice emerged from the ground and sped towards Garth, growing taller and wider by the second. The giant amount of ice shattered into a million sparkling crystals as it smashed into where the assassin had been standing a moment before. Kargill shielded his eyes as a flash of light nearly blinded him as the direct sunlight pierced through the ice crystals.
The ice settled and Garth was standing unharmed; ice crystals dotting his armor. He had placed a barrier up at the last second to block the attack.

Garth moved away from Roven and sprinted towards Kargill at top speed. He let out a fury of blows with nearly godlike speed. Kargill crossed his weapons to block the countless attacks. He saw an opening and let out a failed stab with his sword. Garth pressed down near the hilt of Kargill's blade with his dagger and jammed his knee into elf’s side with all the strength he could muster. Kargill lost balance and stumbled backwards several steps. Garth ducked his head as the elf lashed out with a blind attack. There was a flash of red as Garth's cut down the length of Kargill's torso. His blade skidded across Kargill's chest cavity and all the way down to his hip.
The two turned as Roven got up and let out a large grunt. He spun around and threw is shield at Garth with all his might. The circular shield whizzed pass the side of Garth's head, barely missing by an inch. Roven locked his now free hand around his broad sword and moved towards the assassin.
The two double teamed Garth. The assassin was unable to get an attack in with the never ending stream of blows. Garth let loose a wild sideways sweep of his scimitar and leaped backwards from his opponents. Roven quickly closed the distance and attacked with an upwards strike. Garth narrowly dodged and ducked his body under Roven's arm. He made a slice into his skin as his blade streamed across the warrior's side. Roven's spun his sword around and stopped Garth's follow up attack. He pushed away from the assassin and joined beside Kargill.

Fatigue was beginning to overtake Roven and Kargill. This epic battle seemed like it would never stop. Roven reached down towards his side and removed his blood stained fingers. He was wounded kind of badly, but he'd push through it. Both fighters were soaked in perspiration from head to toe. Garth was in better shape than the two, but the battle worn assassin was still feeling the effects of his wounds and fatigue.
Kargill placed his sword back into its sheathe. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a lone crystal seed.
"You can sing crystal?" Roven asked.
"Not exactly," replied Kargill. Magic flowed through his body and into the seed. Images of death protruded into Garth and Roven's minds. A picture of a bloody covered battlefield flashed into their minds, hundreds of men on each side, striking each other down for an unknown cause in the name of the Gods they made. The imaged then changed to that of a mass graveyard with gravestones as far as the eye could see. Finally, the battle ended, and they were snapped out from the graphic scene and back into reality. The images were so vivid they nearly lost track of where they were. It was akin to awakening from a horrible nightmare.
Kargill's crystal seed had changed shape and was now a circular disk made of indigo crystal with jagged teeth lining the edges. The elf held up his staff and a sphere of magical energy slowly formed at the tip. It continued to grow until it reached over one meter in diameter. Kargill winded up his arm and threw the magical attack towards the assassin. Garth simply placed his palms together and prepared another barrier.
Kargill had anticipated this. He spun around and threw the crystal disk towards Garth. Garth had to stop preparing his barrier and dodge to the left as the disk spun past his body. As he dodged the projectile, the magical sphere clipped his left side, violently jolting his body backwards. He made a loud grunt of pain. It was time finish this fight.

“You will die for that!” he screamed. “Do you know who I am? I am Garth Nova! You are all just cockroaches compared to me!” The entire countryside seemed to quake at Garth’s anger.
Roven and Kargill went into full gear and moved towards Garth with astounding speed. Garth flicked his wrist and the metal chain detached from his wrist and hooked Roven around the ankle. His feet were swept out from under him and he landed onto the ground with a hard thud.
Kargill attacked Garth with several simultaneous blows from his sword and staff. Garth easily deflected them all and crashed through the elf's defenses and stabbed his scimitar deep into Kargill's stomach. Garth slowly began to move his scimitar deeper and deeper, enjoying the slicing sound as his scimitar pierced and tore at the mage’s flesh. There was no sweeter sound to Garth than the sound of Kargill's blood curdling screams.
Kargill’s vision slowly grew black. The pain was so great he prayed that he would just pass out. Garth slowly turned the handle, the wound opened even more and the blade grated against Kargill's insides. Kargill dropped to his knees and fell to his back, barely even able to see. Garth removed his blood covered scimitar from his dying victim.
“Now you know that happens when you mess with Garth Nova,” he whispered into the ear of Kargill.

Roven stood up to find his friend lying on the ground and Garth standing over him with his scimitars. Kargill was not moving.
“Get away from him!” Roven roared. He grabbed his battleaxe with his free hand and swung axe at the assassin, who crossed his weapons in defense. Garth’s scimitars buckled at the force of the massive ax. Roven brought up his broad sword and began pounding on the assassin’s blades. Sparks flew as their weapons collided again and again.
Roven soon had Garth on the run. The assassin could not even get an attack in with the constant flurry of pounding blows. Dual weilding such heavy weapons would not slow this juggernaut down. Roven put all of his might into one swing of his axe. The force of the battleaxe against the scimitar broke the weapon free from Garth's grasp and it was sent flying to the ground. Roven let out another roar before sending a crushing blow at the assassin.
Garth narrowly dodged as he rolled to the side and drew his second dagger with his now free hand. He placed the balls of his feet against the ground and used them to spring towards his opponent. Roven slashed down at Garth as the assassin brought up his two daggers and drove them through the warrior's torso. Roven’s broadsword stopped inches from Garth’s face as the two daggers were rammed into his chest, one under his left arm and the other right below his shoulder.
“Now you too know what happens when you mess with Garth Nova,” the assassin told his new victim.
