Hello everyone, long time no see. First off, I want to say thanks to everyone for posting and keeping this story alive while I've been gone. It's also great to see at least a few people still reading this story despite how old it is!
It was May 22, 2007 when I first wrote this story, over five years ago at this point. And now I'm aching to pick up my pen one more tine and finally write the sequel and finish the story!
However, I'm not really sure how to proceed at this point. This story is old and definitely needs rewritten, both to improve its quality and to change a few things around to fix some issues with the plot. I could go back and completely rewrite and repost In Bad Company. Unfortunately, that would take some time, and I'm not sure if the story is even worth rewriting at this point.
Honestly, I don't feel like most of what happened is even that important to the story. I kind of want to start over completely from scratch with a spinoff/sequel. What do I mean by that? I would start a new story that takes place after the events of In Bad Company, starring, Kargil, Kane, Roven, and Garth. Although technically a sequel, it would be written in a way to make it completely stand alone, so you could read, enjoy, and understand it even if you never read the original.
Right now I'm just trying to figure out how best to go about implementing the above idea. I'm thinking about starting the story off leaving things intentionally vague, and sort of just slowly alluding to and building up past over the course of the story. I think that would be the best way to proceed.
I'll post here whenever I have the story up. (That is, if I ever have the story up, but unlike some of my past ideas and plans I feel really good about this actually happening) I'm not sure about what the title will be, but I'm thinking about calling it "In Worse Company". Someone originally pitched that title idea for the sequel years ago as a joke, but I'm thinking about rolling with it.
