“I guess we can eat at the pub.”

“They have terrible food though.” Ko complained.

“But is only a few steps away, and besides where else are we going to get cheap food?”

“So Ana darlin’, ya hear me alright?”

“Oh God, not again.” She said aloud shaking her head. Ko did*’t even bother asking, he just tilted his head down.

“So I was gone get me some eats, but I figured I’d invite ya, and Ko too if he’s around. I think everyone else is busy.”

“Oh.. Sound like fun, where?”

“Ya’ll know that itty bitty little elf town, I hears they got some unique an’ spicy grub to try.”

“I like spicy food,” “Ko, you like spicy food?”

“I’m a fan, yes... why do you ask?” She smiled and explained to him what Forrest had said. The two had only one problem... how to get there in a reasonable amount of time? It’d be several days of walking even with a teleport. They did*’t have any of those elvish crystals to try and use.

“Overlord, can you teleport us to Anastasia’s friend “Forrest Nateur?”“ Ko asked out of the blue.

“He’s just a squid, he can-* The two found themselves being warped through what looked like the ocean before landing sharply. Anastasia fell on the ground in front of Forrest, but Ko was able to catch himself, and the Overlord was un-phased.

“Errr... Howdy guys.” Forrest wasn’t quite sure why they were both soaking wet, or why there was a squid in a bowl next to Anastasia, but he figured these questions would be answered without asking. Helping Ana up, the three made their way to a small, family owned restaurant, receiving more than just confused looks about the Karamthulhu Overlord, many people appeared to be visibly upset or worried.

“So this is my new familiar.” Anastasia explained to the hard working man.

“Oh right, you’s been working on that uh... Summonin’? Yeah that.”

“He is fun to look at, moderately helpful. I could do worse with a mindless slave.” She shrugged and a waiter took their order. Accepting the special, they patiently waited at a bar like table. They watched as the tall blonde haired chef skillfully and artfully diced and chopped up a variety of animals and vegetables with his Chef’s Knife.

“Excuse me ma’am.” he began as he tossed a wine bottle in the air, catching it upside down by the neck of the bottle, and splashing it into the sizzling pan to create a roar of flame for a brief second.

“Where did your pet come from?”

“Summoned it.”

“Oh...” He suspiciously watched it sit there, doing nothing. He waited as the food finished cooking by juggling three knives. It was a fun, and impressive sight. The food was served still steaming with a side of water. It was a big beautiful dish filled with peppers spices and a huge variety of colors and smelled wonderful. After a few bites, they learned it to be spicy and filling. The Chef uncomfortably watched the squid play with a fork that had fallen off a table. It seemed to wonder from table to table seeing if there was anything amusing to be found.

"Lady I think your pet is making people feel uneasy.” he tried politely to get her to take it outside, or just tie it a chair.

“What is he doing?”

“Well..” he pointed with a knife. It was on top of an abandoned table eating the left overs.

“Is that a problem?”

“It’s unsightly.”

“So is the blood on your apron.” she remarked.

“Just move the squid, people around here think they’re a sign of bad luck.” he sounded aggravated.

“You’re an annoying man, you know that?” Forrest watched the whole conversation closely, and waited for the elf to say something that’d give him the rights to break his jaw. He never did. Taking the scraps from the table, and removing her belt she tied him by the bowl to her chair, and left the plate by her feet. The costumers were starting to leave, or glare at the three as they ate.

Several people began making rude comments, Ko did well at ignoring them Anastasia as well, but not Forrest. After only a few minutes, the relatively short man stood up from his seat.

“Would any you folk like to come up here and say that to my face?” He waited patiently, many people bowed their heads down, and any who did*’t, he made eye contact with until they did. That is until two rowdy elven men took him up on his offer.

“I said get your stupid human selves out of town, you hard of hearing human?” his friend laughed behind him.

“Naw, you about to be.” Forrest punched the young looking elf in his ear, and he dropped like a stone.

“Anyone else?” The elf boy’s friend dragged him away, looking panicked.

“Sit down.* Ko said quietly.

“They started it, i’m just giving them what they want.” A man tossed a cup at Forrest. He caught it and placed it down behind him, shook his head, and finally sat back down. Another cup smashed on his back. He calmly stood up, pulled his shirt apart, and beat the senses out of the man who threw it. The entire place turned into a rumble with teeth and blood flying every where. The three made their escape after a wall of water forced the angry rioters aside from the doorway. From there they were able to make a self teleport to Falador.

“Your goddamn temper Forrest!” Anastasia shouted with a laugh. She wouldn’t deny it was fun watching him beat the brains out of people.

“Hahaha... that was a close one.” Ko added in.

“Look at that! Some moron’s tooth got stuck in my knuckle.” He pulled it out, and put in his pocket. “I betcha Lowe’ll like it.” Forrest himself had taken some blows, but bore no bruises or cuts, other than the knuckle. “But hey guys I’m sorry I ruined lunch and all that, but I don’t let people push me or my friends around. I gotta get a new shirt, and get back to work though I’ll see ya, awright?”

He departed from his friends, refreshed he worked out all his anger for a while.

“Crazy isn’t it?” Ko asked quietly.

“Can be sometimes.”

“How do you get a tooth stuck in your knuckle?”

“You swing, really hard.” he laughed lightly, and the two decided to head home, and clean their selves up, they were both a mess and tired. It was an uneventful rest of the day, that is until Azura arrived at the apartment at about dusk. She had only decided to briefly stop by to inform them of the fact everyone wanted to crash her place in about a week, just to have fun.

Else where, later that night.

Strolling through the streets of Varrock, Dief, a swordsman, and Elder were searching for something different than the normal loot. “What about that one?” The swordsman called out.

“Nah, we can find better... Oh, that one?”

“Hell no, look at that face.”

“Oh geez, where did that come from?” The three searched for hours with no luck at all. The moon had went over the horizon, high into the sky, and was starting to fall back to the other side of the world.

“The sun will be up soon, we’re ending this search for now.” Elder made sure his hood was firmly in place. He made sure it did*’t move from over his head by having it laced to the jacket by some specially made golden laces. “Something smells very nice.” he commented out of no where. The two

men tried to smell what he did, but failed to. They walked towards it, and there was the source of the smell.

A beautiful, though completely inappropriately dressed woman was wearing a very expensive, sweat scented perfume, from the islands of Karamja.

“Dayum.” Dief wasn’t sure how he was supposed to approach her. A very short dress combined with fish-nets and high heels gave the impression she probably walked the streets for a living.

“What is your name?” Hissed Elder, grabbing her attention from her own fingernails. His two companions just stood there, and tried to seem impressive. She instantly recognized The Vial symbol, and with a smile, answered his question.

“Roxanne.” Silky smooth voice, she seemed perfect for what they had planned.

“Nice to meet you.” The swordsman bowed. He wore a visible chainmail with a sword strapped over his back, she wasn’t sure if she should be honored a warrior bowed to her, or if he was just being a smart ass. Dief remained shyly silent.

“Come with us.” Ordered Elder, he had no personal interest to be had with with her, but she would do the job he had mapped out, or at least he thought she would. Dief liked her big hips, but had no clue where he would begin trying to speak to her, but he figured he could just charm her over given the time. And if Elder was interested in having her work for them, he’d have time. But something else crossed Dief’s mind, the sun was just beginning to rise, and Elder was hastily leaping back into the shadows. Maybe Elder wasn’t a demon or wraith like he had originally thought, but something that doesn’t like the sun. He would get a list of creatures like that later.

As morning came into full swing, Anastasia woke to good smelling food, and Ko wasn’t in sight. Good, he made breakfast. Making her way into the kitchen, she did**t see him any where. But there sat two plates of food on the table. She began to eat, and heard more noises... peeking under the table, the Overlord was eating his own plate of a food greedily. She did**t understand, none of her other familiars had ever seriously seemed like they needed to eat, but he ate three times a day like a person should. She had yet to see him flicker or shake like the other familiars, whose spiritual connection could be weakened for a moment or two, causing them to fade slightly. She also was surprised he had remained summoned for so long, most disappear in a few hours.

“Hey, when did you cook?* *o emerged from the bathroom, he had washed himself.

“The squid did it.” she could get used to this, maybe Pikkupstix wasn’t going to find windows mysteriously broken. She giggled, but then maybe the sun won’t rise, either.

“I’ve got a lot of business to attend to today.” Ko mentioned.

“See you tonight.” She replied. He excused himself from eating earlier than normal, and was quick to get himself dressed and off out the door. She wasn’t sure why, but he left wearing a suit. She began to think, the brothers were on their typical slaughter-week. They’d normally spend an entire week killing things for profit before settling down to blow it on food, and repeat. Azura was suddenly obsessed with her magical gemstones, Lowe was no where to be found, off having a mid-life crisis. Forrest was working, Ko was working too. She sighed, those were the only interesting people she knew. So now what? She wondered. Thinking again about Lowe’s midlife crisis, a day of exploration did sound nice.

She dressed ready for anything, and packed a day’s worth of food and water. She opened a large map and scanned it, where did she want to explore today? Better question, where did*’t she want to explore today? “Come on, just you and me today.” She told the Overlord, as it finished eating. It hopped a long behind her, and latched onto her leg as she casted a teleport spell.

She had learned the spell from Azura, it teleported you... but not to any specific location. She found herself in a tall grassy field, with mountains in the distance. She had packed a jacket, those would be fun she bet... but she had seen many grassy fields with mountains. She used the spell again. This time she landed knee deep in ocean water, a foreign island that did*’t look very big before her. The Karamthulhu Ovelord tugged on her leg, it had anchored it’s bowl with rocks and wanted to go swimming. She tied her backpack high on a tree, and removed her over clothes. She loved swimming, this seemed like a good idea. The water was warm, and crystal clear, but the sun was no where to be found. She swam out farther into the ocean, she had no fear of somehow drowning. She was a fantastic swimmier, and there was a squid that was forced to try and protect her gracefully darting through the water next to her.

She dived under the water once she was about fifty feet out, and took a look around. A barrage of beautiful sea life of a rainbow of colors was no where to be found, under the crystal waves was nothing. Just water. She pulled back above to take a breath, and was rather confused, how could there not be any sea life? The squid tugged on her foot, as if urging her to dive again. She took a deep breath and took off beneath the waves, it swam in front of her, and continually turned around to make sure she was following. She followed as far as she could, and saw a very vague outline of what she thought could’ve been a building. But once again the lack of oxygen called her away to the

surface. The Overlord seemed frustrated and tried to figure out what to do, but they couldn’t even talk to each other, so she was clueless as to what it wanted her to do in the first place. “Deeper.” abruptly echoed in her mind, the Overlord was starring intensely at her during that moment. She tried to ignore it, but it happened again, more assertive this time “Deeper.” how much alcohol has she had today? Just one shot, no way she’s drunk “Deeper!” the voice seemed angry... where was it coming from.

“You want me... to swim deeper?” she directed her question at the Overlord, a few seconds passed.

“Yes.” it wasn’t even a gendered voice, not even a human voice. It wasn’t something that spoke human often, or ever before, it was something that simply understood what human words were, and what order to place them in.

“I can*t.” she shrugged, and wondered if there was any fresh water on the island to wash off with.

“Try.” sighing, she took a deep breath, and sank beneath the waves, back into the gloomy dark abyss. She noticed lots and lots of rubble and what appeared to be ruined buildings, with only one intact. She saw eyes poking out of crevices in the underwater landslide, not in pairs, just single eyes. Pushing on deeper, she felt concerned; there was no need to breathe. She couldn’t figure out if she was drunk off her ass and dreaming, or if some kind of supernatural... something was going on.
