Two, they seemed to still be affected by the normal motions of attacking, being unable to simply stop a swing if it went somewhere ineffective. Three, the force of the strikes held more force than he suspected Miyasi could muster physically, hinting that her physical capability was either greater than it seemed or had nothing to do with how she fought. Finally, he could tell that, were he fighting one of these swords, it would probably be a victory for him.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t.
The first few swords were simple, and their swipes at him were deflected with the superior size of his blade and the strength he was able to put into it. For a moment, it seemed as though he might actually be able to get close to them, and maybe have a chance of stopping their escape. That moment quickly passed, however. As the third and fourth swords came down, he was able to bring his blade up once again to parry, but as he did there was a strike on the back of his knee as one of the swords he had knocked to the side came back around to hit and knock him off balance. It was the side of the sword he was struck with, so only minor cuts above and below were what he received, but the combined force of the swords from above and the push from behind forced him to move back to catch his balance and prepare for the next hit.
Three of the swords did not move in as he stepped back, and the two from behind him swung around so that they were once again in front of him. The other three, however, did not pause, and moved in from both sides and the front.
Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.
