Sergeant Gary Riley

Having never been the central security office before, Gary took a few seconds to look around. He had expected to see a bunch of camera feeds and monitors, which was exactly what he saw, but he had also expected a bit more, considering it was one of the most restricted areas in the facility. Oh well, people are bound to spread rumours about places they can't reach, and there was no use getting disappointed like some kid who got to visit his father's workplace for the first time.

And there was none other than Michael Talbot himself. Ever polite, the man did not bother to greet them, say their names, or even turn to look at them. Gary of course kept these thoughts to himself.

And then Talbot dropped the bomb.

"
You three are going to the lower levels. There's something I need you to confirm.
"

Then there was a pause, and Gary realized the man was waiting for questions. "Just the three of us, sir?" He asked, breaking the silence. What he wanted them to confirm was pretty easy to guess. Gary assumed it was whether or not the subjects had died. As likely as that was, these were no ordinary humans, and no ordinary subjects either, so Gary wanted to make sure he had back-up before going down there.
Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.

Annie said in a nevous voice,"oh ok. what do you mean the process doesn’t normally take effect this soon?" The strange energy kept growing faster and faster with strength in it in her. It felt like the strange energy will come out of her any seconds and that made her more scared about what's going on with her because, Her mutation has shown up. She was trying to stay calm about all this but slowly it's not working. -Dances-

Red had never been a morning person, so it came as no surprise to anyone when she didn't immediately show up in the dining hall for breakfast. True, not all of the subjects dragged themselves out of bed to eat with everybody else, but at least with Red there was a certain guarantee that she wouldn't be showing up any time soon. Of course, it never did help that she was rarely asleep before 1AM, let alone the amount of energy she gave off on a day to day basis.

But today was a little different from the norm, as it turned out. On the other side of level 5 from the dining hall, snoring away in the comfort of her pleasant little room, the young woman lay upon her bed without a single conscious thought. The covers were kicked off, her pillow had managed to wedge itself between the mattress and the wall and her limbs were splayed out every-which way while the girl's head dangled precariously over the edge of the bed.

So... That was no different from the norm. What WAS different about today was that Red had a nightmare.

...And as observed, she could be quite active in her sleep.

It was a good thing near-enough everything in the room was practically indestructable, else there might not have been much of a room left that morning. Small fists slammed against the walls and bedframe, shaking the solid surface and rattling the highly reinforced metal. Through the night sharp, solid CLANGS had sounded from her room, keeping her neighbours up far longer than they would have liked. Still, YOU try waking the girl who could benchpress a truck from a restless sleep and see if you walk away.

Anyway, all of this rambling aside, Red's foot pushed off the wall in another restless motion, promptly shoving her upper body off the side of the bed and slamming her head onto the ground with a dull thud. About ten seconds passed before a light grumbling rose from the woman, confused muttering giving way to a particularly loud yawn as the rest of her body slumped down onto the floor.

A further few moments passed before she finally rose up into a sitting position and rubbed her tired eyes, blearily looking up at the wall where a clock was mounted. Red squinted slightly, apparently displeased with what she saw based on her frown, but another yawn broke whatever tired complaints she was on the verge of making.

" Stupid clock... " She grunted, pushing herself slowly to her feet and taking some shaky steps towards her dresser, smacking her lips. After a brief struggle with her night-clothes, during which she got the top stuck over her head for a few moments, Red pulled open the dresser and sleepily tried to pick out some clothing, apparently completely forgetting that there was literally no kind of choice available. Well, unless you counted the choice of jumpsuit of bareness.

A further paragraph of describing an adorable, half-awake redhead struggling to pull on a simple jumpsuit later Red was dressed and out the door of her room, zombie-walking in the general direction of the bathrooms. One quick splash of water later and all was right with the world, as the boundless joy that was the red-haired midget was awake and ready for another day of being awesome.

And of course, what better way to prove how awesome she was than to stride into the dining hall with a wild grin and a wilder appetite? BOOM went the doors as she shoved them open, the 'light force' she used probably not what others would call light considering how they slammed into the walls with a resounding crash, but neither they nor the walls themselves were harmed.

" Mmmmmmornin'! " The terror declared before making a beeline for the serving trays.
I am Inferi.

Cogito Ergo Sum

The dark-haired girl charged into the door hands first, as if gambling her running start would make the metal flinch. She banged on it twice, fruitlessly, and unfurled her aching fingers to scout for a weakness. It defied what she thought of a door; it was an entirely featureless surface, slightly recessed from the adjacent walls and defined by a continuous bold seam. It was futuristic, but not in a way that she could appreciate right now -- its refusal to immediately yield reduced her to hitting it again.

Dr. Vellian's call was enough to make the girl shoot a look over her shoulder. Deciding what the doctor had said was briefly incapacitating, since the girl barely heard the woman over her heart and fists in choir. She tossed aside the possibilities when it felt like her siege was faltering -- still, two of those syllables tickled her subconscious, and her brain stem lingered on how the doctor addressed her even as she adjusted her efforts to the panel on the wall.

Although it was as obtuse as the rest of the technology in this room, she guessed it operated the door. She tapped on and picked at it to no avail.

Her frustration redoubled its efforts to infect her. Nothing she could easily do was working, but if she gave up, she wouldn't be leaving this room. She turned around. The room was still machinery and miscellany, and none of it was helpful to anyone who was in a hurry to leave. Empty on options, she settled on the first thing that didn't mystify her: a chrome IV pole, taller than her, that stood next to a nearby bed. It was unused, although some surgical tubing was looped around one of the four long hooks at its peak.

She dashed over and seized it, wheeling it back to the door where she grit her teeth and urgently lifted it onto her shoulder. Immediately she teetered to one side, almost sent to the floor with her deceptively weighty halberd.

As troublesome as it was to even keep seated on her shoulder, it felt suitably dangerous. She clumsily aligned herself near the panel, contesting her grip on the pole's haft. The surgical tubing came loose and flailed about.

"
Let me out!
" she demanded, and swung. The peak of the IV pole sailed toward the control panel with impressive momentum, lifting the dark-haired girl onto one foot, and struck with a stunning clang . She recoiled -- the immense vibration almost made her drop the thing, but she nonetheless centred herself for another strike as soon as both her feet were on the ground. One of the metal hooks had been compacted by the force.

Not bothering to measure the damage, she took another swing, visibly more ferocious than the last.

Jack was standing now, his expression a little bewildered. What the hell did I sign up for here? It had seemed like a good deal at the time when he accepted to come here, but now he seemed to be stuck in a room with a strange doctor, some little girl, and a lunatic. Now that I think about it she kind of reminds me of my crazy ex from high school, Jack thought then shuddered at the memory of the relationship.

Jack stood next to the bed a little bit on edge and watching the girl bang on the door warily. His mind had been boggled since he woke up, but memories were starting to come back with what the doctor had said. She had mentioned that the little girl might have been feeling strange because of a mutation. Right, that*s what he came here for, so he should have undergone some kind of change. Then came another thought, so would the lunatic trying to break down the door.

Everything was still pretty hazy, but if the girl at the other end of the room was some kind of superhuman then this could get real ugly. I wonder if I can tap into whatever mutation they gave me, if that girl turns on me with her make shift polearm. Jack tried searching for anything that felt different, anything that could be some means of using whatever mutation he acquired. Nothing felt different other than the haze around his thoughts and a slight ringing in his ears.

The maniac girl struck the key pad once, the clash making the ringing in his ears worse. The girl raised the impromptu weapon again. Jack felt the adrenaline building. He had just woken up, he was still dazed, and he seemed to be stuck in a room with a number of strange people, one of whom was on a rampage. That’s when something took a hold in his mind.

The haze around his thoughts cleared and a flood of sensory information came in. He felt as though he was trying to pay attention to too many things at once. Feeling overwhelmed he tried to focus, tuning some of it out.

The others in the room would see Jack slump down on the bed he was still leaning on, his eyes open but unseeing as if dead. He was still breathing, but in an unconscious-like state. Simultaneously a vague shadowy figure would appear between the door and the girl.

Jack saw through the projections eyes only to see that he was suddenly very close to the other girl and in the way of the swing. He took control raising the projection’s arms in a defensive manner; however, the shadow was too unrefined and not enough of his power had sunk in. If the girl continued with her swing it would pass through the projection, dispersing it, and Jack would come out of his trance a few moments later, in shock and gasping as though having just been underwater.

Doctor Samuel Martin

Doctor Martin arrived right after the two guards, and lined up next to them. The guard's faces were new to him, considering the only time he talks to anyone is to get something out of them. He had not taken much interest in the room, because he knew he might be in trouble. Then Talbot spoke, and his words rang through Sam's head. He had not been in the loop about the lower levels, and everyone he asked had a different story. It didn't really bother him to much until now that he had to go down there.

~Just do your job Sammy~ He thought to himself. Sam could hear the concern in the guards voice. He looked young, as does everyone in Sam's eyes, but he had his war scars. He didn't know the guards so he was also a bit worried, but the fact that its such a small team set his mind at ease. Its a lot easier to move and not draw attention in small groups. ~I'll probably be sent down to collect samples, and these guards are just insurance.~ He thought while adjusting his coat.

"What are we going to need, and what are we allowed to bring?" Sam said while scratching at his beard. This would give him a better idea on what he was going to do. It was only a matter of time before they expected him to contribute to the project. ~Why would he choose me, i do just as much as anyone else, unless he looked at my file and deemed it suitable. If he had wanted a doctor with military experience then this job could be a lot more dangerous than i thought.~ Many questions filled Sam's mind, but he didn't feel quite right asking them so he stayed quiet.

As the sliding door opened to grant them access, Miles couldn't help but wonder about some of the tech they used down here. For all his engineering experience, there was a ton of stuff he daily, but he had no idea what made it tick. Though most of the time, he just didn't want to risk a discharge for messing with a light switch or a shower head.

They stepped inside, and the central security office seemed like, unsurprisingly, a security office. Just a mess of computers and monitors. He took a quick glance at that three-screen display, his curiosity piqued for a moment, before Miles turned to Talbot. Of course the man got straight to business. Gary's guess had been pretty spot-on.

"You want us to head downstairs and see if those subjects are still kickin'?"

----

Dean stepped out of the showers, rubbing his head dry with a towel. His stomach was grumbling for lack of breakfast. Everyone else was probably at the dining hall right about now. He quickly got dressed and headed down the hall.

He entered the dining hall just after hearing some loud crash. Sure enough, that freakishly strong redhead chick was heading for some food. He followed after, picking up a napkin and a plate.

"Hey Red." He said with a yawn.
Ramsay Bolton is the king we deserve.
