The Founding of House Arenar
Tavia and its inhabitants were created by Aedus the Lifebringer, who fell into a hibernation afterward.
While he slept, new gods and outside forces came to Tavia and began carving out their own kingdoms and empires. These gods eventually began to war with one another, resulting in destruction on a massive scale. Entire nations and races were wiped out in the chaos. If it continued, the world would have been destroyed.
Eventually, a mortal known as Alyssia of the Arenar Tribe set out with the last of her tribe to end the destruction. They embarked on a pilgrimmage which took them to the First Temple of Aedus, buried deep underground. After fighting their way through the monsters which infested the caves leading to the temple, only Alyssia remained, and she was mortally wound.
She fell to her knees and prayed to Aedus, waking him. When he woke, he fell into a rage and banished all gods from his land, then created a permanent barrier to keep them out. Maintaining this barrier would require all of his attention, so he gave a portion of his power to Alyssia, who he charged with keeping the peace between races, and upholding Three Renets.
Alyssia then went on to unite the war-weary mortals, and found the Royal House of Arenar, which stood strong for two thousand years.
Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.
