"Truly, you must introduce me this merchant when we get back home," said Dentro, "I would certainly like to purchase some of this for myself."
"Of course I'll introduce you," said Chris, "But for now, don't we have more important things to talk about? Something is clearly on your mind, and if I had to guess, I would say it was about those pirates."
"So it's that obvious?" sighed Dentro.
"Pretty much," replied Chris, "But for now, I'm curious, what is this artifact that they pursue? And why does it pose a threat to Guthix?"
Dentro leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes. For a while, Chris was certain that the old man had decided not to say anything else on the matter. However, after a minute, the old man's mouth opened and he spoke. "Have you ever heard of the Fist of Guthix, Chris?" he asked.
"No," said Chris, "What is it?"
Dentro took a deep breath and replied, "Long ago, an artifact existed; it was known as the Fist of Guthix. It enhanced Guthix's already great power to a point where he was invincible. However, while he slept, the Fist of Guthix was found. First it was used by Saradomin, and then later, Zamorak used its power to become a god.
When Guthix awoke, he seized his Fist once more and sealed it away, hoping that no one would ever again use it to disrupt the balance..."
"So that's what they're after?" interrupted Chris, "The Fist of Guthix?! An artifact which can turn mortals into gods?!"
"I wish it were so," said Dentro, noting Chris' understandably confused expression, he continued, "There is an artifact more powerful than even the Fist of Guthix, the Monolith, and it is that which the Coven seeks... Guthix's power stands guard over his Fist, but the Monolith's power is so great that none of the gods can use their powers on the continent it is hidden in. As such, not even Guthix knows where it lies."
"But what is this Monolith?" asked Chris, "And how can it be more powerful than something that turns mortals into gods?!" "He appears in the Form of a Man with many Countenances; and he hath a Book in his right hand. His Office is to teach all Arts and Sciences unto any; and to declare the Secret Counsel of any one."
