"And finally," she spoke, telling Balor all. "I joined the Resistance to end your ways. I heard and saw with my very own eyes the destruction and sorrow you... and all of our kind have caused to these people. I saw no other way, if my words couldn't get through to you, then perhaps action could. So I came to them to fight for change and break this seemingly endless cycle of madness."

Once Elena's mouth finished moving, the time to take in all that had been said came to be. Balor's face was at a complete loss for words, his eyes were widened as he couldn't find the ability to digest all that his sister told him. Though he wasn't a fool, he was able to understand completely what is was that she was telling him.

A shroud of silence fell on top of the two. And time was lost as they just stared at each other. A half of a minute passed without a single sound being uttered. "I'm the reason that you left... and the reason that you fight." thought Balor, attempting to grasp the words Elena just told him.

Elena then shook her head once, confirming her brother's belief. Her soul then too began to pour water out its windows. "I love my brother with all of my heart..." Elena stated, her eyes then closed. "...and yet at the same time, I hate him with everything in me for what he has done."

Balor's whole body then began to quiver as he heard this stunning piece of information. A lance of truth pierced his heart and crushed him to the point where his whole body was completely numb. He thought his ears were deceiving him, attempting to play a trick on his mind. But this was no illusion -- this was a reality unlike any Balor had ever faced before.

Balor's eyes then began to fill with water, tears of sorrow streamed down his face. The tears then truly began to come down, this was an emotion the king himself had never come across in his entire life. A soft sob that occasionally came from the king turned into a long and heart-wrenching moan. Balor covered his face with his hands as he began to cry hysterically.

He screamed, his painful wail was heard throughout the world. It echoed across the castle, alerting all to the sudden change in their majesty. Once this pain became very present on Balor, his sister quickly threw her arms around him as an attempt to consult him. Balor's hand-covered face laid on top of Elena's right shoulder.

Elena's eyes closed, her face became a tightened mask as she tried her very hardest to keep herself composed. But her brother's agonizing wails did a number on her heart, tugging at its strings and ripping them apart. The door into the room rattled, the doorknob twisted. Popping in through the room's jaws was the uncle, Momus.

Once his light blue eyes took hold of the situation, they were pulled back as his mouth stood ajar. His ears swallowed the sound of the king's cries, pulling his heart apart like a torture rack. The old man closed the door behind him as he attempted to grasp what was playing out in front of him. "Your Majesty..." he muttered at a soft tune. "Princess Lucia... did you...?"

Elena's head turned to the left, her pale blue eyes gazed back at Momus. "I told him, uncle..." Elena stated. "I told him everything."

"Dear Dias..." gasped Momus. He then closed his eyes, clenching his hand around the doorknob behind him. "Please forgive my intrusion." Momus had recoiled back into the previous room, saddened but not surprised by his king's reaction. Once again, Elena returned to attempting to console her only brother.

The sun took one final peek upon the shattered hearts of those inside the castle of Governanti before letting out its very last shine. With its final breath, it crash-landed back down upon the corrupted land and allowed its other self to be released. The silver sun rose to power, greeting everyone who would enter the outdoors during the dark hour.

Hours had passed since the confession and Balor -- throughout those hours -- was unable to control himself. Though finally within the borderlines of two days, the king had finally been lulled to sleep. He laid there in the place where the only person he loved once slept. He seemed so tranquil, as if those emotions he felt before were all just a part of a horrific dream.

Elena placed a letter on the table where Balor's armour was placed. She had acquired all of her weaponry and equipment. She then turned towards the bed, her lost eyes took a look upon her brother's face. Her eyes then closed, burying the feelings deep inside of her. "Forgive me, brother," she mumbled softly, throwing her hood over her head. "but this is no longer the place where I belong."

Elena then looked away from Balor and began walking towards the door outside of the room. Her hand clenched onto the door. But before she left, Elena took one last look upon her sleeping brother. While her heart wretched, she knew that deep down that this was the best decision she can make.

She then exited the room, leaving the memories behind. With her head looking down, she closed the door behind her. She then looked up and saw her uncle staring back at her. He stood there with his arms closed as if he were waiting for her. Elena didn't seemed surprised at all to see her uncle there. This instead brought to her a rather curious interest as to what he had to say.

Outside the adamas gates of the castle, a figure approached. He wore a long, dark brown cloak and his head was concealed underneath a cloth hood. He looked up, his purple eyes shuffled along the face of a tall and enduring kingdom. " Now, " thought the purple-eyed young man to himself. " how do I get in? "

Human guards stood side-by-side with the gates that allowed any to enter the castle. But then both stared rather curiously at the hooded shape. With a click of his armour, the knight to the left took a step forward. "Raphael," softly named the knight. "is that you?"

An alert sparked out from the head of the hooded figure. He turned his head downward, looking back at the knight. Indeed, the face underneath the hood truly was that of Raphael's. His mouth became an uneasy, light smile that shook like jelly. But then his face became quite earnest as he took a step forward.

The knight to the left smiled as he confirmed that he was correct about the identity of the one before him. "I knew it!" he exclaimed. "It's been almost a year! How ya been?!"

Raphael's right hand reached up towards his face. His index finger scratched the center of his right cheek. "I've been better." Raphael answered honestly.

The knights surrounded Raphael like a crowd of fans around a celebrity. "Hey," the knight whispered. "Is it true what they been sayin'? They're sayin' you killed King Divus!"

Raphael closed his eyes and shook his head. "I would never even contemplate that for a single moment." he explained himself. "Balor made it up so that he can take the throne. He was actually the one to kill him."

"Ahh, I see... that would explain it. That Balor has always been a snake." spoke the knight to the left. "So, son... what brings you back?"

Raphael's purple eyes reappeared from the flesh sheaths that they were hidden inside of. They gazed upon the knights he once befriended. "To take someone back," the silver-haired young man fiercely replied.

The knight to the left crossed his arms. "You mean Princess Lucia?" asked the knight. "They've been saying all kinds of things to the people. Apparently, the resistance had "kidnapped" the princess six years ago."

Raphael's eyes strayed away. "So, it really is true," he spoke quietly. "I knew she looked familiar... now I know why."

The knights then began to depart from each other, taking back their positions. "Anyway, you're out to get her back, right?" the knight to the right said. "Then just go on in and get her back."

Raphael rekindled his focus and determination. He confidently shook his head. "Right!" he replied. He then bowed his head. "Thank you." After the knights acknowledged his respect, they pulled apart the gates. Raphael then bolted forward, rushing quickly passed the two knights.

With the gates closed behind him, Raphael rushed towards the adamas walls that surrounded the kingdom. " If I remember correctly, " spoke Raphael to himself. " Princess Lucia's room... it's at the left side of the kingdom. " Once close enough to the walls of the castle, Raphael's body then leaped forward. Flying off of the ground, his hands grasped upon the adamas spikes like a latch.

Slowly but steadily, Raphael began to scale the wall. His hands reached up and grabbed hold of ledges and small parts to hold on to. He climbed up the wall, making his way towards a window on the fifth floor. As he approached this window, he realized that for some reason this window was already opened. It was an oddity, the answer to this mystery eluded Raphael.

But still, it was an opportunity that this young man could not pass. He charged for the window as fast as he could, surging up the wall at a neck-breaking pace. Finally, his left hand reached up and clenched onto that window's ledge. He then pulled himself up and over it, entering into the kingdom slyly.

He stood slightly hunched over as he had to regather himself after the climb. But as he did that, another strange revelation would once again crashed over the shores of his mind. The hallway that was usually teeming with the buzz of life was not so. The Loyal Knights that were sworn to protect those of royalty were present but in a very different way.

All of them were laying upon the floor, they seemed to have been knocked cold. Raphael was shocked by this event, unable to fathom what exactly was going on. But then, a strange wind blew by him like a train had passed him by. He then turned his head to look behind him. The image of a familiar man sitting on top of a building waving hello to him then appeared in his eyes.

There, on top of a two-story building, sat Calvin and Libitina. Calvin was the one who waved at Raphael, smirking as joyfully as anyone could. Libitina stared apathetically up at Raphael. Unable to understand this, all Raphael could think about doing is waving back. His left hand then slowly rose up to back the height of his neck and began slowly swaying left and then right.

Calvin then stopped waving his hand and then raised his thumb, giving Raphael the thumbs-up. Raphael didn't know what to say, so instead he continued his invasion. Raphael began running through the hallway as fast as he could upon this quiet night. He didn't know what to expect but he knew he had to get her back no matter the cost.

Back towards the confrontation between the two of the royal family. Elena took a step towards her left. "Uncle," the archer called. "were you expecting me?"

Momus closed his eyes. "Yes, I was." he answered. "And Raphael as well, who should be here in a minute or so."

Now that was something that surprised Elena. A light seemed to flicker in her eyes. "Raphael..." she named, quoting the powerful noble. "... is here?"

Within the frame of a half of a minute, the rush of footsteps hitting carpet echoed throughout the hallway. Turning the corner into the hallway in which this meeting played out, Raphael appeared before them all. This truly did take Elena by surprise, her eyes widened. He saw the two speaking with each other, which set a red flag waving in his head.

He quickly reached for his blade, readying for a battle. Momus raised his right hand like a crossing-guard telling a person to stop. "Relax yourself, human." said the uncle. "I have no intention of battling you or even stopping you from taking Princess Lucia back."

Raphael seemed confused, puzzled by the words given to him. His hand slowly loosened off of his blade. He then began walking towards the two, his mind boiled with thoughts. "If you have no intentions of battling," returned Raphael as he drew closer to the two. "then what are your intentions?"

Momus then began walking the way that Raphael came from. "Walk with me," he said to Raphael as he passed by him. Raphael turned towards Elena, seeing what her opinion was. She shook her head, telling him that he can trust Momus. The two began walking behind Momus.

Momus turned his light blue eyes to his left. "Raphael," named the man. "on the final days leading up to your fall, did Divus ask you anything out of the blue?"

Raphael, with a serious look stitched on his visage, shook his head. "Yes, he did." Raphael replied. "He asked me to become king."

Momus closed his eyes. "I see," the noble acknowledged. "so he did know..."

"Huh?" Raphael spoke, unable to grasp what Momus means.

The uncle then reopened his eyes. "As to why I'm letting you go," continued Momus. "it's because there is something you need to know."

Raphael was then caught on the hook of intrigue, his ears listening well to what Momus had to say. "What is it?" he asked.

"That's something you can't know until you're ready," the man stated. "until you've met Astrid."

That name was a dead-ringer to Raphael, his mind popped with the memory of Telvern referencing to that same name. " My, you do have Astrid's eyes. " Telvern's voice spoke out from the memory, wildly waving through Raphael's head like a mosh pit. He almost seemed lost, his eyes strayed away from the two as he became devoured by thought.

Elena crossed her arms. "That name is familiar," Elena said, trying to remember that name. "Oh, yes... that was the name of one of the human servants."

Forcing his way back into the conversation, Raphael looked back up at the back of Momus. "Who is Astrid?" he asked as quick as the strike of a viper.

"Your mother," answered Momus.

Raphael was shocked by this, learning that his mother was still alive. He quickly rushed over to the side of Momus, his eyes never looked so intense. "Please," he begged for the answer that he has always desired deep within his heart. "where can I find her?"

Momus did not turn toward the very tense Raphael. His arms laid flat at his side. "If I told you, your search would lose meaning." the noble responded. "If you truly wish to find her, think for yourself."

Raphael understood well what Momus was trying to say. A search without unveiling the answers out yourself would truly make it lose feeling. "Then I have another question," continued the purple-eyed young man. "who is Telvern Thaddeus?"

Momus' eyebrows raised, surprised by Raphael's naming of that very man. "Interesting," thought Momus, turning his eye to Raphael. "how have you come to know him?"

Elena looked up at her uncle. "He's a member of the resistance." she answered quickly. "Though, it doesn't surprise me that he knows more than what he has given."

"While I don't know what bonds Telvern with all of this," the old man continued. "what I do know is that you both should not trust him."

Raphael was taken aback by this. While he felt that Telvern needed to give an explanation, he still felt that somewhere he could still trust the young genius. Raphael then looked before him, the three were walking down stairs. They approached the entrance room with all the guards laying unconscious on the floor. "Sir," said Raphael as he consumed and considered Momus' words to him. "exactly what happened to them?"

"I had them dealt with to ensure your safe entrance." he answered without hesitation.

Raphael raised his left eyebrow. "Couldn't you just order them to not attack?" the young man asked.

Elena shook her head. "No, he couldn't." she responded. "Members of the Royal Family lose all command of voice once the next generation of royalty assumes the throne. Their authority becomes that of a normal god."

"I see," Raphael understood. The three stopped just in front of the large double doors that led out to the world. They both stood side-by-side just in front of these doors. They twisted around and glanced back at Momus. Their hands grasped the handle of their respective side of the double doors.

Momus crossed his arms. His eyes looked onto his brother's daughter. "Stay alive," said Momus, his eyes then cut to the left and gazed upon the silver-haired young man. "both of you."

Elena put up a soft smile, shaking her head up and down once. "It was good to see you again, uncle." Elena returned.

Momus paid her back, smiling gently back at her. "It was indeed very good to see you again... Lucia." corresponded Momus, agreeing with Elena. His light blue irises were then pulled to her. "Please take care of yourself."

Elena repeated herself, shaking her head to confirm that she had carried Momus' words into her heart. "I will," she assured.

Momus turned his back on the two, his smile still very present on his face. He then began to step away from them, walking back towards the stairs that brought him here. " If only you were able to see what she has become... " wished Momus to himself. " You would be so proud of her. "

As he walked up the stairs, his ears caught the sound of the doors into the castle open wide. Just after the sound flew softly like a paper airplane, it gently slammed shut. Elena and Raphael hastefully moved their legs towards the gates that allowed Raphael to come through. "Psst!" whispered Raphael to the guards in front of the gate.

They jumped out of their skin, quickly spiraling around to see exactly what was the source of the sound. They noticed that it was Raphael and the person who he came to rescue. They were shocked, surprised by how easy it was for Raphael to retrieve someone who is not meant to be kidnapped.

They gulped anxiously, they then leaned forward to show respect to the young princess. "Y-Your Highness," they meekly acknowledged, an apprehensive sweat dripped from their forehead.

Elena shook her head. "Please," she responded. "I am not your superior, I am your equal."

After bowing to her, their heads popped up. They looked up at their princess, who generally seemed earnest about what she just said. They recoiled their bodies back up, standing straight up. They were caught off-guard by this humble response. They then realized that their questioning was costing the two's time.

So, they quickly pulled themselves back together and reached their hand for the arms of the gate. It opened before the two who then began to walk out of the boundaries of the castle. Elena then looked to the two and bowed. "Thank you," she gratefully thanked.
