Inside of it, within its own heart, its very center, was a glowing orb of cerulean light. Its appearance was shimmering, but subtly, faintly. Its body so enchanting, so eye-catching, so gorgeous. Occasionally, the pulse of cerulean would run down the skin of the human heart-shaped piece of adamas, a pulse that went from the center to its edges, then disappeared.

Lamia's investigation of the object concluded, finding this piece of adamas rather... intriguing. Not exactly sure what it was, but she knew that something was different about it. Raphael's right hand cautiously and hesitantly crept upon the object, carefully latching upon it one finger at a time. His fingers touched down, and clasped the heart entirely in his hand. But the very moment his hand grabbed entirely upon it, an immense feeling overpowered Lamia.

Like static, like a strike of lightning rushing through from the blood vessels in her hand. From her hand, it rushed up her arm, then through her shoulder, then dug deeply into her chest. It then stormed straight up her neck and into her head, Lamia could feel something forced its way into her mind. Its electrifying hands ripping open the doors, causing her to clench Raphael's hand onto his head.

But whatever entered her mind was not hostile, not at all, she quickly realized this as the sudden shock abandoned her. It offered her something, feeling as a strange clarity and wisdom seeped into the very corridors of her mental space. From the back, Soter watched on, completely incapacitated. His luscious green eyes subjected to this scene, appearing unwilling to just lay there and spectate.

He saw as Raphael rose, clenching onto the human heart-shaped adamas and gazing down upon like his eyes couldn't let go. "N-n-no...!" Soter finally managed to speak, Very painfully -- almost sorrowfully -- did he mutter, his voice squirming and stuttering in the anguish. His only hand left, his left hand, desperately outreached towards the scene which antagonized him.

The right side of his face forced into the floor, his cheek pressing against the cold metal floor. His eyes staring upon the only part of the room which held light, staring upon the place which wounded him so. It took an immeasurable amassed army of strength to just push those two simple things out, the agonized, grievous messenger watching on with eyelids pinned to his forehead.

He began to feel weaker, and growing weaker still. The room grew darker, being enveloped by shadow. Yes, even that light from the moon-like star above gradually blackened. Soter tried to fight it, tried so fearfully to battle it. He just wanted to protect his masters, his creators, but alas... They had all but vanished, dissipated from this world, this life.

This seemed to be the case for Soter as well, beginning to feel himself too dissipate, slip away. His vision grew blurry, everyone and everything becoming indescribable distortions. His consciousness fell apart, an unstable tower finally toppling. His vision blackened, losing all sense of reality. His face as he fell unresponsive represented the sort of agony he had suffered, a broken mask of a shattered man.

To what happened outside of his body was an answer he couldn't grasp, feeling himself be laid into the cradle. His pain alleviated, his mind finding comfort and relief in the darkness. It numbed him, deprived him of all need to think, to feel, to care. The blackness and chill of absolute death caressed him, a frigid but loving embrace.

But... that image of Raphael, of Lamia, would not be the last thing he saw. No, Death would not have him yet. His will fought back, breaking out of the arms of the cold one. His vision was restored as a result of his fight, resynchronizing bit-by-bit-by-bit. His vision like watching something through a fractured screen, feeling like he couldn't have been out for very long.

His eyes staring back at the place, the place under the barrage of the pale blue light and ethereal purples and pinks of the milky way. He found that Lamia was no longer there, no longer standing at the center of the room. He had to find her, he had to obey the last command issued to him. His ears heard a muffled mixture of softly spoken voices echoing around him, they must be around.

He had to rely on his eyes, scouring the area to find Lamiaquil'a. It didn't take long, not long at all. All Soter had to do was look ahead of him, finding the Lamia-possessed Raphael just beside the beaten genius. He had awoken, it seemed, sitting up against the wall. But that didn't matter to Soter, his eyes hectically hunting for something else, something more.

Her hands no longer held the object, that human heart-shaped adamas... It was nowhere to be found.

Telvern's steely gaze looking off to his left, where the controlled young man stood upon one knee. The genius' position was very cloistered, very tight, his eyes speaking out shouts of distrust and suspension. "...How do you even know any of that?" the messenger could hear Telvern's voice speak, seeing his face grow alive with anger.

"Search your roots, child," Soter's ears heard the Neheztelian goddess' voice replied to the genius' question, watching then as she possessed Raphael's body to stand up to his feet. "Rise to your feet, 'tis pointless to remain here."

Afterwards, the controlled young man began walking away from Telvern. She left him with such high demands, and carrying them with such a battered, pummeled body was no simple challenge. He made the great effort to just get up, his bruised, bloodied face becoming a bitter grimace as he tried to yank himself off of the wall.

Seeing that the object was gone, Soter picked up his torso ever so sluggishly with his left hand, still aching immensely from the pain of the injury he sustained from Lamia's blast. He then tried swinging up one leg to get to his knees, and that volunteered leg would be his right leg. But something felt off as he tried pulling up his right leg, his effort would only send him back down towards the ground.

His armour cried as he fell, saddened by his defeat. Its sound echoed throughout the room, causing certain eyes to pry over in that direction. Soter could then feel a pair of cruel, stern eyes cast over him like a judgment stare, stab into and through him. Soter then glared down at his right leg, and he saw... nothing. His right leg was gone, sent to the void of nothingness.

In fact, his whole right side had almost completely vanished, even part of his head and face. Those magical, glowing embers were parts of him burning out, eroding away, forsaking him. He gripped his teeth in frustration, digging his nails into the metal floor. He had to keep moving, he had to do something, anything!

Lamia had begun moving off to Telvern's left, heading towards the other two still down. Standing there, staring down both Calvin and Shinon, the goddess then began to see some life grow. Calvin's head laid on its left side, his body huddled up at the halfway point of a fetal position. His right eye cracked open a few seconds after the last footstep, and through the haziness of his vision, he could make out the familiar pair of boots before him.

His vision then climbed up the body of the person who wore those boots, his iris like a mortal man scaling up a god, a god who stood tall over him and infinitely gazed downwards. But eventually, that mortal man would have reached the top of the ladder, finding Raphael's face looking down upon him. "Oh, 'ello Raphy..." he mumbled weakly, letting off a equally impuissant grin.

Calvin saw then as Raphael drew in closely with care, his steps slow and gently-placed. His body falling down, his knees kissing the floor. Now that his face had become more definable to the assassin's vision, Calvin could immediately recognize that something was... different about him, something wasn't right. Or at least, something wasn't characteristic of him.

Such emotions of resentment and ire appearing vividly in his presence alone, it came in an overpowering strength. His eyes bearing such hatred, such embitterment, such spite. But just as those things, tenderness, care, and love... Love only a mother could offer. Calvin knew then, knew who truly was before him. "Heh heh..." he let out a pathetic chuckle. "An' 'ere I was hopin' when I met ya I'd look lil' bit better presented..."

"Fret not, child," Lamia consulted him. "Such things are but trivial thought upon my mind."

"Dat's a relief," he replied. "So... why'd ya decide ta get 'n on the action?"

"I shall explain in time," she answered, then her eyes shuffled upon the ghastly injury upon the Calvin's right leg. Viewing it as it seeped with blood, it pooled the sight around his upper leg. "As selfish as this is to ask of you, I request you to rise. We needn't linger in this place anymore."

"...Don't worry 'bout me, drág Essa," Calvin calmly assured, clear pain shown in his voice. His hand clasping the wound, still did his face wear that weak smirk. "If ya ask it, then I'll git it done."

His goddess' words were well enough for him, like winds blown with great strength under his wings. He acknowledged them, held them fondly to his heart. He finally got to meet the very being who had such an impact upon his life, who practically saved him in both body and soul. The very prospect of her being there, it was more than enough motivation for him to try even beyond his own humanly limits.

Calvin tried then, very slowly ascending, lifting himself up. His trunk lifting up off of the ground, attempting to sit himself up. All of his stress and effort entirely upon his right arm, his left arm just dangling there at its respective side. The assassin's teeth fastened together, his visage weighed down heavily by a grimace as he had to push up his battered body.

Lamia viewed him as he slowly got up, his motion echoing his agony. He faltered in some instances, but never did he truly break. It took him a minute or so, but the exhausted assassin managed to get his suffering body upwards. Feeling assured of Calvin's determination, she turned to the last: the archer Shinon.

He was just inches away from Calvin, laying weakened and knocked out. Lamia reached Raphael's right hand over to the red-haired archer's torso, his palm latching rather firmly upon Shinon's back. She then began rocking him rather strongly, a sway like the stir of the ocean. "Awaken," Lamia then told him, the way she spoke appeared somewhat ill-tempered and impatient.

But his eyes were quite stubborn, refusing her every attempt, her every motion. Locked like the house of a man with extreme paranoia, she was left out, unable to awaken him. But his denial of her would only augment her fight, shaking him intensely. Her final, vigorous push rewarded her, Shinon's eyelids' grip faltering, letting go. They were torn asunder, revealing his harsh, black irises.

Shinon's vision was repaired, gazing once more upon this cursed existence. Feeling it now once again, the mangling, riddling pain that was tagged to him like a vicious, heartless label. He sluggishly turned his head upwards, gazing upon the one whose hand had awoken him from his peaceful slumber.

He found a familiar face, one that belonged to the young man he knew as Raphael. But the eyes weaved an entirely different tale, a thick, black malice that was so profoundly deep that some thought it impossible. He callously looked down upon Shinon, pulling his hand back at his side. The archer watched then as the young man he was familiar with ascended from that place, rising to his feet.

He started to walk away from Shinon, his cheek swiftly turning the other way. Having awoken those of the other world, Lamia began her step towards her faithful. Raphael's boots pounding against the blackened metal in this darkened room, releasing hollow echoes faintly spoke out in whispers. Lamia stood over her devoted Libitina, slowly dropping down to sit at her side.

Knees planted into the floor, the goddess had her eyes nestled down upon Libitina's seemingly slumbering face. "Forgive me, Palaemmir... " Lamia then mumbled softly to the sleeping assassin, her eyes casting over her body with lament. She then carefully took Libitina into her arms, cradling her with her love. "...but I must stay with him now."

Off in the corner of her right eye, Lamia took notice of a figure appearing. It ripped her of her attention upon the sleeping assassin, forcing her gaze onto it. Raphael's purple eyes gravitated towards the figure, fixated upon its face. It was the fading messenger Soter, his body burning away by the centimeter every second.

Soter had painstakingly clawed his way over here, crawling through the agony and mental suffering he had to endure. His painful grunts pushed passed his clenched teeth, his sheer will and resolve alight in his shaking stare. His faith and loyalty to those he believed to be the Elder Gods too powerful to be held down, too true to be tainted.

But Soter knew well of the being he stared upon, and it was not the young man whom he knew once spoken to. Desptie his being the enemy, Lamia chose not to attack, chose not to be provoked. Seeing as half of his body was all but gone, he was well on his way to the end.

She simply stared him down, her gelid, piercing eyes penetrating straight through the armour that protected his soul. And Soter's only eye traded her a harsh glare, the two knowing the other's truest nature.

In the background behind this intense showdown of the eyes, Calvin's struggle finally met its match. His body up, but not high, his bleeding leg chaining him down to this mortal plane. His body throbbing with pain, coated in sweat, Calvin slowly began to realize that he might have hit a ceiling. He sat there upon hand and knee, body haggard and oozing with his blood from a variety of wounds he had suffered.

His right arm still taking no part in this effort, perhaps left injured after slamming into the ground in the wake of the explosion. He tried his very best to shrug off the pain, but there was only so far he could push, so far he could reach. But just when the assassin thought his endeavor was impossible, he noticed two feet then appeared just in front of his vision.

Calvin's head then pulled up, his face held up towards the person whose feet stood before him. The hand of someone branched out for him, opened and here to help him, to alleviate at least some of his burden. The image of that archer appeared like the glistering banner of hope in the pale blue eyes of the assassin, his agonized face replaced with a sense of relief and joy. "Woah..." he said, very surprised by Shinon's sudden appearance. "Well, ain't you just the lil' savior 'n disguise."

"Only to the weaklings who need it," Shinon cruelly joked, smirking smugly.

""Weaklings," eh?" quoted Calvin, reaching his hand up for the rope. Shinon helped holster Calvin up to his feet, pulling him up. It was done in one quick, fluid motion, without any flaw. But as he pulled Calvin up, the pain from Shinon's own injuries bled through his assistance, his face twisting into a grimace as he lifted the assassin from the ground.

Calvin was transferred from the ground to his feet, finally able to be on his own. He stood entirely on one leg, looking over at Shinon. Shinon's appearance reflected from his face, Calvin grinning just as arrogantly. "Hmm, I seem ta recall I got dis 'ere injury 'cause I 'ad ta save someone's skin," the assassin cracked back.

"Well, somebody had to give you some use," the red-headed archer responded, noticing that the the wound in Calvin's leg rendered him incapable of walking. This caused Shinon to quickly throw Calvin's left arm around his neck, carrying him to assist the assassin in his walk.

While Shinon and Calvin continued their verbal fight, beyond them was something else... Lamia and Soter still glared upon each other, their eyes locked in the vicious conflict. Though her eyes were not hers, just their feel spoke volumes. The clashing of their trades could go on for an eternity, but an eternity must be condensed in a matter of moments.

Although she heard another pair of footsteps approach, Lamia did not attempt to look back at all. She kept her eyes barreling down upon the fading messenger, just as the messenger fixated his gaze upwards to her like she were the moon in the sky. The footsteps grew in strength, but still the purple gaze was not swayed.

Standing over the Lamia-possessed Raphael, the genius Telvern. His steely brown gaze upon the top of the head of the one whom held the familiar face in their arms, suspicion and doubt left quite an unease, foreboding feeling in this man's chest. "Everyone is up," Telvern's voice finally broke his stone-solid lips, the ones that he forced to move.

"Very well," Lamia acknowledged, pulling up to her feet, carrying the sleeping assassin in her arms. She then turned towards the exit out of this place, putting Raphael's leg out in front of her to take a step. "Let us depart."

Telvern's eyes followed very closely behind the back of the familiar young man, needing to stop it before it moved any further from him. "Wait," demanded Telvern, causing Lamia to stop in her tracks. She did not look back at Telvern, simply casting her gaze outwards. "What about him? You've the power to save him, correct? Surely he could prove valuable to our cause if we'd just assist him."

" Dego, " Telvern's ears then heard the undaunted, quick response in a language known only to this world. Through Raphael's purple eyes, Lamia looked down upon Soter's eroding face, who in turn looked up at her. She was very uncaring of this man's fate, her eyes absolutely callous upon the messenger's eyes, drilling straight through his soul. "He is of no use to me."
