"It's possible that they control others with some sort of artifact, since I don't think there's a non-magical way to do that. There could be another in the ruins... which might not turn out well even if there's nobody to control you with it..."
"He was not directly involved," Forlirn said with a heavy sigh. "While he was respected for his wisdom, he was not considered the leader and ended up taking a sideline role in that. However, he could easily have prevented it. The others would have listened to him..."
It was difficult to tell the exact size of the dragon, but he was clearly quite large in life. Judging by the bones, he had likely been larger than the largest member of the Soulbound, not including Soul. Considering how large Forlirn was compared to his age, it was not inconceivable that the dragon was thousands of years old when he died.
