"Honestly, the way you look at life baffles me, but in a good way. I mean, I had a lot of bad things happen in my life and my response was to hate everything that I could associate with what went wrong in my life. I just can't see how you can look at life so differently. And I would still not call you a burden Rhen. You may not be the best fighter, but your knowledge still is very useful. Plus you do not need to have all of your limbs to use magic. Even if you were a burden, which you are not, I would not care in the slightest if you could not fight. And no body is 100 percent efficient either, so don't use your mechanical limbs as an excuse. Face the truth that you are useful Rhen. Nothing will change that." Matt said.

"You forget Matt. My people live forever and we cannot keep thinking on the bad. WE only think on the good and or research. We remember our mistakes true, but we do not dwell on them. I will say this though Matt. You may not care if I can fight or not, but what you have told me about the Seekers, they could care less if I can fight or not, they will kill me anyway. After they get what knowledge I do have from me if they even spare me that long. Here on Nueva I am a burden. On Elune however, it is a different story." said Rhen. "I enjoy our talks Matt. You seem to be very knowledgeable yourself. If you were 'born' as a watcher you would make a great scholar amoung my people. And that is a compliment my people do not hand out often. You have proven me wrong on many things and have shown me that my people's opinion on humans is wrong. I may be more knowledgeable in greater ways than you, but you have still managed to teach me things I did not know. For that I thank you. Perhaps when all this business with the Seekers is over you could help me with my studies someday and together we migth crack the secrets of the void and find out more about my condition. But I am getting ahead of myself. But the offer is a serious one. And who knows. Perhaps someday I will be welcomed back to my home and perhaps I can convice them to change their ways and let those who are willing to learn enter our city and learn from my people. It is a radical idea and my people may not accept it but who knows. They just might go for it. If they do, you will be the first person I will seek out and bring to see my home. I think you deserve it. As you have helped in many ways and have been a true friend."

"Oh yes, I keep forgetting that you cannot die from old age. It is a bit confusing for me to think of the concept of never dying. I only have a very short life so I really don't have the time to forgive and move on. Hatred is the quickest and easiest solution for me. And if the stories about the seekers are true, then I doubt it would matter how capable we are at fighting. I feel that they would still be able to easily defeat us even if we were the best fighters in the worlds." Matt said. "Now Rhen, I enjoy our talks as well, but I am far from a genius. I would be honoured to aid you in discovering the secrets of the void or to learn from your people. I am beyond touched that you would even consider letting me participate in either event. But I must confess that I feel I am not worthy of such an honour. Perhaps you ought to find someone more on your level of intelligence to aid you in unlocking the secrets of the void. You don't need an old warrior like me."

"When one is so humble as to say he is not worthy of something, that person is the worthiest of all. For he knows he is not good enough but yet another knows he is. Matt, I do not care what you have done in the past. But to me you are worthy of coming to my home if they ever let in an outsider. To me Matt, you are the only person I have meet in my travels who I think is worthy. True your people have great scholars but there is something they don't have that you do Matt and that is this. You have seen things they could only dream of and can comprehend them to a certain extent while the others cannot. That is what makes you worth compared to others who may be smarter than you." said Rhen. "Also, I would rather discover the secrets of the void with a friend reguardless of their intelect and be somebody I can trust rather than with a complete stranger who has my level of knowledge and I am not sure that they would stab me in the back."

<True, we certainly do operate based on many of our emotions. Hell, emotion is probably my greatest weakness when it comes to battle, which is probably why I've yet to be able to best Forlirn in a duel. He knows of my anger, and uses it against me. But hate on that level... it is still beyond my comprehension.>
"You're welcome to explore as much of it as you want, including the main chamber," Forlirn said, somewhat quietly. "Perhaps you will stumble across something long forgotten... or perhaps not..."
"I... don't actually know," Forlirn replied, blinking in mild confusion. "I always just assumed it was the elder that kept all the information... but I really wouldn't be surprised if there is one somewhere around here. However, it would probably be written in Northern Draconic script, which is a more obscure type of Draconic..."

"I don't know what to say Rhen. I've wanted to be accepted somewhere all of my life for any reason other then being able to shoot better then most others. I cannot believe that you would wish for me to learn from your people. If you really wish for me to learn from your people then I will do it. I still don't think I am the right person for this, but if you really want for me to do so then I will." Matt said. "I doubt my experience in battling or in surviving dragon raids make me a person of interest though. And I suppose I will help you with your void research. Our names will go down in history as the people who finally discovered just how the void works!"
<I wouldn't want for my emotions to vanish though. It may be a weakness in battle but it is what makes us who we are. It's what seperates us living creatures from machines. I don't know about you but I think emotions are still a good thing. But you are right. Hatred on the level we are talking about is unatural...>
"Very well Forlirn. I will try not to disturb the dead while I am looking around. I'll let you know if I discover anything of use while I am looking around." Matt replied.

<True. Emotions are something of value... and I think Thlorian serves as an example of hour important it is that we have emotion. I would not want to act like he does... it's fearful... and on top of that you would never know what it's like to feel if you couldn't.>
"I doubt the dead will mind," Forlirn replied, blinking. "They don't exactly have the means to object, and they're not exactly my kin. Though Frilarth probably would want you to be respectful..."

"So if I do find anything, I should bring it to you or Frilarth correct? As you are the only two who could read anything that I may find. Am I right so far?" said Rhen.
~Hmmm......so Forlirn wouldn't mind if I took a few scales if there are any left for my research. But Frilarth might. Well considering Forlirn is technically our leader, I think I will take his word. After all, their bodies might serve a purpose in death to those who need it to help save the worlds. Also, if the northern dragon's scales are like Forlin suggested they were, then I might be able to find a way to incorporate them into my mechanics to provide a winterizing solution to increease the feezeing point of my mechanics so the I might be able to use them here in the north. It will take some work and some adaptation to my mechanics to get it to work depending on what I find.~ thought Rhen.

<I will be honest. I don't get scared easily but I find Thlorian to be frightening. How does he wake up in the morning if he has no motivation to do so? Do you remember how you said that you go into those fits of uncontrollable rage? Well I think I would rather spend a day having to endure that then have an hour long conversation with him. I hope that we never run into him again, though I doubt that we will have such luck.>
"Frilarth has no need to worry. I don't intendd to do anything that could be seen as disrespectful to the dead. I must confess to having a morbid curiousity for seeing just what the true ones are capible of. It is one thing to tell us the stories of what happened, but it is another thing for us to see the aftermath..." Matt said.

"You could certainly bring it to me if you cannot read it," Forlirn replied, nodding. "Though I can't tell you if you can bring it to Frilarth or not. I do not know if he can read our script, to be honest."
<I don't know if it's Thlorian or the idea of Thlorian that I find more frightening. He's probably the most dangerous being I've ever encountered... but the simple idea of an emotionless, sentient being... I feel like it may be worse than the actual being. Has he always been that way? Or was he... changed...>
Forlirn came to a momentary halt as he walked. The passageway beyond opened into what seemed to be a massive, well-lit chamber, though it was still too far away to make out what was inside.
"What remains lies not too far before you... Though I can't say I know what you'll find. I may have seen them die with my own eyes, but that was centuries ago. They may still lie entombed in the chamber... or they may be the dust that coats the floor..."
