SeanyLovah,
Hello. I hadn't realized they were switched. I'll update and switch them now, since I have a few [rare] moments of spare time.
The Poet/Poem of the Week are there to give authors an idea of what professional poems looks like and how everyday the people who form them are. I don't think it's right for me to choose from among the poems posted here because they have not yet qualified, as far as I am allowed to know, as professional and they would not give budding poets a style with which to work nor a quality to attempt to emulate.
Using poets from this thread is an interesting idea, however. They could potentially serve to demonstrate the points I am seeking. The problem with this, however, is that I would not be allowed to post 80% of the information I wanted to, because the Code of Conduct forbids me.
Similarly, I will not accept ASCII art in this thread. I know what it is -- I was an artist for two years back in '06 and '07. It, however, is allowed in only one thread (except in extenuating circumstances), and that is Bored? Draw #ere!. Encouraging users to post their ASCII here would be breaking the rules on a two-fold scale.
Furthermore, I created this thread because there was no venue for artists to post and receive feedback on their poetry. Since a thread already exists for this in the Forum Games forum, there is no need for this thread to host them.

I hesitate to rank the poets using this thread because it would be awfully pretentious. Who am I to decide who is best and who is not? We each have our own tastes in poetry, and I'm no different. Whilst I really could decide who of the poets that have posted in the past week was the best, I don't think it would be fair to all concerned.
I don't post the "most active" because it is fairly easily visible from the first pages that users come and go at a frequent rate. Keeping up with who's here, who's taking a short break, and who's simply moved on is too much work for me.
I really appreciate your feedback! Please, if there's anything else you'd like to suggest, post it. :)

So early I awake to the early morning light.
Why, must I get up once again to face another day, I close my eyes with all my might.
Opening my eyes again, I see my cage.
Four walls littered with clutter, charts written for cleaning, papers showing their age.
I get up walk into the *at*room, step into the shower.
Scrubbing away all the filth, using all the hot water, all the while dwelling on the bill for power*
Getting dressed I wander back to my cage, stepping out of my mind, I soon wander away.

I can't say whether you live.
You stay inside, wrapped in the shell
you call world.
And that shell will crack through
experience
tragedy
joy
friendship
It is my job, my calling, my duty
to crack indifference.
The difference is, I don't play to get even.
I want you to win
in a game you cannot.
I want you to live.
Stay inside, lose a little life
As you slowly wither away into nothing.
But nothing will make me stop.
Loving you is the first step
Yes, loving you I meant.
So sleep, dream, never waken.
Because, love, your love was taken.
By the man who discarded your life
for his purposes.
A torn rag of a woman, you survive.
You wander, barely alive
For your spirit was crushed
by the man who tossed you aside.
Is there any hope to crack your shell?

I'm an Edgar Allan Poe fan, so my top poems are mostly by him.

1. "Annabel Lee"
2. "The Highwayman"
3. "The Raven"
4. "anyone lived in a pretty how town"
5. "Because I Could Not Stop For Death"

This list changes quite a bit, but Annabel Lee is almost always at the top. :)
