Strange voice: “My sleep ends, and my rise returns. The Elves will come to me once again. I have betrayed…”
The chest is now open; search it to receive a “crystal fragment”. The fragment takes the place of a key to unlock the door to the north. Go through the door, and you will be in a new chamber, with nine pillars, making a three-by-three grid. You will hear another strange voice:
Strange voice: “… How will I make up for this? He would never forgive me. I know I am not worthy to…”
Click “inspect” on any of the nine pillars, and you will find it’s much like the Temple of Light pillars. The four pillars, one in each courner will have a coloured crystal fused into it. The north-western pillar has a green crystal infused into it, the north-eastern pillar has a blue crystal fused into it, and the south-eastern pillar has a red crystal fused into it, and the last south-western pillar has a white crystal fused into it. When a light shines into a coloured crystal, you will gain the option to left-click “touch” the pillar. This will cause the light path to be rotated 90 degrees, as well as the entire light path will change to that crystal’s colour. The north, west, east, and south pillars have a mirror fused into them, used to rotate, which will turn the path of light. The final, center pillar has nothing in it, so any paths of light shining into it will have it simply pass through it, so it will not change colour, and will not reflect the light into a different direction. This pillar comes in handy later.
On the north wall, there is a sealed grey-coloured crystal chest. Attempting to open it after inspecting any of the pillars, will cause you to hear another strange voice.
Strange voice: “I will let you unlock my secret, but you must prove you are powerful with the light.”
The south-western pillar will begin to glow.
Strange voice: “Create for me a symbol of the Crystal.”
I’m not great at this game, but I do love quests.

Now the puzzle begins. Walk over to the shining south-western pillar and click it for a white light to shine east, into the south-eastern pillar. Click the south-eastern pillar, to create a red light shining north, into the north-eastern pillar. Click the north-eastern pillar, to create a blue light to shine west, into the north-western pillar. Click the north-western pillar, to shine a green light into south-western pillar. This is the easiest of the light puzzles, as it only requires clicking. You should create a square of light, if done properly. (If you rotate your camera, this square will look like a rhombus, the symbol of Seren.) You will hear another strange voice.
Strange voice: “The crystal is the filter, but the light is the power.”
The path of light you created resets and the south-eastern pillar will begin to glow.
Strange voice: “Show me the symbol of the Dark Elves’ God.”
This next phase of the puzzle is slightly harder. Walk over to the shining south-eastern pillar and click it for a red light to shine north, into the north-eastern pillar. Go a few steps north to the eastern pillar, and rotate the mirror so the red light is shining west into the western pillar, where it will come to a standstill. Rotate the mirror so the red light is shining south into the south-western pillar. This should create a red “n”-like shape. (If you rotate the camera so you’re facing south, the new symbol will look similar to a red Zamorakian symbol.) You hear another strange voice.
Strange voice: “So you have seen the Temple. I am impressed, but you must show you know more than a few symbols.”
The path of light you created resets and the south-western pillar will begin to glow.
Strange voice: “Here is a challenge. Make all the pillars have light passing through them.”
Player: “Why? What would that represent?”
I’m not great at this game, but I do love quests.

*There is no response*
Click the south-western pillar for a white light to shine east, into the south-east pillar. Click the south-eastern pillar for a red light to shine into north-eastern pillar. Click the north-eastern pillar for a blue light to shine into the north-western pillar. Click the north-western pillar for a green light to shine into the south-western pillar. Rotate the mirror on the western pillar, to reflect the light path east, so it will pass through the centre pillar. All pillars in use. You will hear another strange voice.
Strange voice: “A wise choice. It reminds me of a better time… Great knowledge, and wisdom, free for all who wish to learn. But I had to stop it, I had to prevent them from becoming too wise… But I was too late.”
The path of light you created resets, and the north-eastern pillar will begin to glow.
Strange voice: “Create me the crest of lord of his ‘order.’”
Click the north-eastern pillar so a path of blue light shines into the north-western pillar. Rotate the northern pillar, so that the blue light is shining through the centr4S pillar, and into the southern pillar, where the light will come to a standstill. Rotate the southern pillar so that the light is shining into the south-western pillar. Click it so it will shine a white light into the north-western pillar. Rotate the western pillar, so the white line shines through the centre pillar, and to the eastern pillar, where it will come to a standstill. (If done properly, this should look a bit like a Saradomin star, with the white light and the blue light crossing through the centre pillar.) You will hear a strange voice once again.

Strange voice: “Order… Peace… A great era for the Elves. They would live in peace with eachother, and the other races. But I was greedy. I wished for their strength… But I only brought their demise."
The path of light you created resets, and the north-western pillar will begin to glow.
Strange voice: “I ask for one last thing. Remind me the symbol of his love”.
This symbol is probably one of the easiest, but is the hardest to figure out what you need to do. Click the shining north-western pillar to shine a green light south into the south-western pillar. Rotate the western pillar so that the green light shines into the eastern pillar, where the light will come to a standstill. Rotate the eastern pillar so that the green light is shining south into the south-eastern pillar (This looks slightly similar to the green symbol of Guthix). The strange voice will contact you for the last time.
Strange voice: “Yes… Guthix. I promised him… I betrayed him. Human, I wish to see you. Take what you need from the chest, and descend to my resting place.”
The grey-coloured crystal chest is now unlocked, and when you open it, you will find an item called “Shining Elf crystal”. Use this crystal on the centre pillar, consuming the Elf Crystal. This will make the centre pillar sink into the ground, creating a gaping hole in the ground. Click “jump down” on the new gaping hole. As you jump down, you will land on your feet, but the room will be pitch black. Slowly, the room will begin to be illuminated, caused by one massive, towering crystal. It is shining brightly, but other than you and the crystal, the room is empty. Left click “touch” on the massive crystal, for a short cut scene to occur.

The cut scene is of you touching the massive crystal (sort of like when you touch the Stone of Jas). Upon you touching the crystal, it will begin to lose its brightness, until it a dull grey colour. Suddenly, the crystal will shatter, and collapse into a pile of crystal fragments. Amongst these crystal fragments, stands a hunched-over woman, with pointed ears, grey skin, grey hair, a blue dress, and shining cyan eyes. You will be prompted to talk to her.
Player: “Hello? Are you all right?”
Strange woman: “I… am weak. Thank you for rescuing me from th-the crystal.”
Player: “Who are you?”
Strange woman: “You do not know who I am? Times have changed… But after all, you are a human, not many of your kind know my name.”
Player: “Then what is your name?”
Strange woman: “My name is within all light, within all crystal, and within all life. My followers once called me Seren.”
(The “Strange woman’s” name will change to Seren.)
Player options: 1: “I assumed so.”
Seren: “Then you are wise, for a human.”
2: “THE Seren? As in, goddess of the Elves?”
Seren: “The goddess of the Elves who wish to worship me. You know of the others, who follow a darker path.”
(Both options lead to this next line of dialogue)
Seren: “Thank you, Player. Thank you for awaking me from my sleep.”
Player: “You know my name?”
Seren: “Of course. I know of everything that has happened since my sleep. I saw it all. I saw you rescue Elena from the Death Guard. I saw you open Glarial’s tomb. I saw many things, I even saw the Elves I loved kill each other in the streets of their city…”
(And if you joined the Seren emissary)
Seren: "I also saw when you swore allegiance to me with Endwyr. While I question your motives, I thank you."

Player: “You saw the Iorworth Clan take over the city? Couldn’t you stop them?”
Seren: “I could have with ease. I wish I did, but I swore I wouldn’t. I swore to him I would not medal with the affairs of mortals. Not anymore…”
Player: “Why? You could have saved countless lives!”
Seren: “Please, do not remind me. But I did what I could without directly interfering... But Player, you have done me a great service by awakening me. I am weak, I am dying. I do not want to die in my sleep. I wish to see my crystal city, one last time.”
Player: “But the city is reverted back to its crystal seed form…”
Seren: “I know. It is also the reason for my death. You see Player; every crystal seed has a piece of my power in it. The power is invoked by chanting to the seed. But only when I am worshipped, will the seed respond. The Iorworth Clan stopped worshipping me, and so their crystal died. Their seeds began to stop responding to their chanting, and their city fell apart around them. They can’t even open their city’s gate…”
Player: “But what about the Elves who continued to worship you? Like in Lletya?”
Seren: “Their crystal remained strong, which is why I still live today. The crystals may be a part of me, but I also draw power from them. Now that Prifddinas is dying, I am dying. I need you to win the war, Player. I need to see my city one last time. Now I am sure you have many questions, so you may now ask.”

Player options: 1 (This option only appears if you don't follow Seren): "You are not my Goddess. I follow (Emissary faction here)
Seren: "Good. I do not want worship, let me be with my Elves, and you can have the rest of this world."
2: “Why were you not banished from the world like the other Gods?”
Seren: “A good question… It was because I wanted to have the world live in balance, like him. I promised him I would follow him, and sleep. But I broke the promise, and I stayed with my Elves. I only tried to protect them, but I lead them to war, and became part of their daily lives. When he returned, he wanted to banish me from the world, but he could not bring himself to do it. I told him he should, that I deserved to be banished, but he only left once again. So I stayed in the world.”
3: “How did you paralyse yourself in crystal?”
Seren: “I wanted to have my followers forget about me. When he did not banish me, I found a cave deep in the forests of Isafdar. I locked myself within, using that puzzle you solved as a security system. I then slept in my crystal, and when you entered my cave, I began to wake, and I knew my time in crystal was over.”
Player: "But from what I've heard, you made yourself burst into crystal shards..."
Seren: "That is correct... But I kept my mind in one shard, so that wherever it landed, I would grow from it. It arrived in this cave."
4: “Who do you keep talking about, who wished to banish you?”
Seren: “His name, the one name besides my own I remembered all these years. The one who created this world, and invited me to it. Over the centuries, we became close, and brought life and balance to this world. His name was Guthix. One day, he told me he wanted to leave the world, and let the mortals rule it. I was heartbroken, but I knew his motives. I promised him I would leave the world too, but I did not. When Guthix returned, I knew it was time for me to fulfill my promise, and paralyse myself in crystal

4: “How are you connected to the Anima Mundi?”
Seren: “The Anima Mundi? The life of the world… Yes, I am connected to it. The Anima Mundi allowed me to watch the world as I slept, and without it, I, along with the crystal, would die. It also why some of those who follow me refer to me as: ‘The goddess of life.’”
5: “Why did the Iorworth Clan stop worshipping you?”
Seren: “That is my greatest regret… You see, during the age you would call the ‘God Wars*, I told the Elves to stay within Prifddinas, and not put themselves in danger. But eventually, they began to run low on resources, so I eventually came to the conclusion that going to war would be the only way to gain land and resources needed to survive. But the war was more influential on me than I thought, my people grew in power, and we made alliances. But in one specific battle, I sent my Elves against a small resistance force. I did not expect much opposition, but I soon noticed I was sending my Elves against Druids, and Dwarves… Creatures of balance. I had turned into the one thing I could never imagine… I was encouraging war over balance. So I told my Elves to all retreat back to Tirannwn. Naturally, the Elves were confused by the sudden order, but obeyed all the same. But one clan decided to stay in the war, the Iorworth Clan. They fought and killed in my name, but I showed no true support. When the war of the gods ended, they returned back to Prifddinas. They returned to their peaceful life, but since then, they had resented me. They felt I betrayed them, and left them to lose the war. Perhaps they were right. So when they saw the opportunity to take Prifddinas, they took it, and they did it in their dark lord’s name.”
6: “I have no more questions.” (Progresses the quest)

Seren: “Very well, Player. Now, I must ask you to do a great service to me. I want you to restore Prifddinas to its crystal form for me, which will give me the power to leave this cave, and see the world for the last time.”
Player: “But I’m not an Elf. How do I restore the city?”
Seren: “Below the city, connected to the Temple of Light, there is a chamber with nine pillars, each with a crystal seed laying on it. Each of these seeds connects to one of the crystal towers I gave to each clan. The center pillar, lays the seed connecting to the Tower of Voices, which once stood at the center of the city, which allowed the Elves to contact me as I slept. What needs to be done to restore the city, is for each of the pillars to be chanted by a member of the respective crystal tower’s clan.”
Player: “So, I need to find an Elf from each clan to chant the seeds under Prifddinas?”
Seren: “Precisely. The melody they chant does not matter, as long as the seeds hear the voice of their clan member.”
Player: “But how will I get an Elf from the Iorworth Clan to chant the seed?*
Seren: “I do not know. The crystals must be sung in harmony, so you cannot force an Elf to sing, they must do it in their free will.”
Player: “I’ll see what I can do.”
Seren: “Thank you, Player. Now, I must rest. I feel my strength diminishing every moment. Good bye, and Guthix be with you, Player.” (Ends conversation)
*The screen fades to black to show another cut scene from within Prifddinas, again between Spy Master Warlow and Lord Iorworth*

Lord Iorworth: “Spy Master Warlow. You bring news on our enemy?”
Spy Master Warlow: “Yes, my lord. I have identified the human who plots against us.”
Lord Iorworth: “Yes, who is it?”
Spy Master Warlow: “Our suspicions were confirmed, my lord. It is indeed Player. We have also identified him/her as the one who sabotaged our efforts to find the Temple in the human lands.”
Lord Iorworth: “Yes, speaking of the human lands, how goes our effort to spread the ‘plague’?”
Spy Master Warlow: “No success at all, my lord. Another act of Player’s doings.”
Lord Iorworth: “Again?! How has the Death Guard captain not caught on at this point?!”
Spy Master Warlow: “I shall send someone to punish him, my lord.”
Lord Iorworth: “Do not bother. The battle for the city draws closer. Let us dispose of the rebels once and for all on the battlefield.”
Spy Master Warlow: “What of Player, my lord? I imagine he/she will join the siege.”
Lord Iorworth: “That is where you come in, Warlow.”
Spy Master Warlow: “You want me to assassinate him/her, my lord?”
Lord Iorworth: “No* He/she can still be a potential ally. I want you to assassinate the one who he/she could not.*
*The cut scene ends, for it to reveal you on the island with the entrance to Seren’s cave in the poison wastes. Trying to reenter the cave will tell you that you should let Seren rest.*
If you head back to Lletya, you will find it is repaired, and no longer instanced. The only difference is that Gwir and Arianwyn are no longer there, you will find them at the Tyras camp, which is where you go to progress the quest. Go to the Tyras camp, and standing at the center of the camp will be Junior Cadet Finda, Arianwyn, and Gwir. There are also Lletyan Elf warriors walking around the camp, some even talking with Tyras guards. Talk to Arianwyn.
