And Elf of Seren, to answer your question: They call it "Goose day" because they eat Geese for dinner, as opposed to eating turkey like us.
Fun fact: the original pilgrims at the first thanksgiving didn't eat turkey, they ate geese. This is because there just weren't any turkey in the area.
I however, ate ostrich on thanksgiving. It was not good.
