Joric Ironfist

Trapped within Azul's shield, Joric realized he would almost certainly meet his end very soon. No one could help him, and in an enclosed space without a shield, the dwarf was virtually defenseless - the odds were not in his favour.

But then, the very barrier that had trapped him... was saving him. The building came crashing down around them, wreckage showering down upon the shield, and he didn't know if it could hold out. If it did, then Azul would live. If not, then they would both die. And if there was one thing Joric knew, it was that Azul could not walk out of here alive. Joric would die before that happened.

Pulling his sword out of the demon's newest, the dwarf brought the blade up into the air as high as he could, and then with a scream he attempted to plunge it into the center of the demon's chest - where he thought the heart would be. If a creature as vile as Azul even had a heart, that it is.

-----

Brodus

"Is now a bad time to confess my sins?" Brodus asked, looking from the priest to Soahc.

And then some sort of energy beam shot out of the temple, speeding past the three of them. Brodus too was distracted, but just for a second. Thankfully, priests of Tyrrus liked to monologue, but even if the priest was going to take advantage of the distraction it wasn't like he was arm-

Okay, scratch that. Now he was armed. Not that Brodus was intimidated - it just made the situation slightly more dangerous.

Stepping between Soahc and the blade, Brodus parried the weapon aside with his sword. "Attacking an unarmed, distracted man?" Brodus asked with mock disgust in his voice. He brought an armored knee up into the priest's groin. " Shameful! " Then, with one powerful swing, he attempted to cut the priest's head clean off.

Cirion

As they made their way through the village, Cirion couldn't help but feel a certain sense of regret as he watched it all unfold, powerless to do anything that wouldn't give him away. When she pulled out the talisman, he looked at it with interest. But, wise man that he was, kept his mouth shut. She promised to explain everything later, which meant that she would not answer any questions he had now. So for now, he followed her in silence.

-----

Alicia Vendal

Deciding that she could use more information (although not expecting to find any) Alicia quickened her pace so that she was walking alongside Mugwo. "So what can you tell me about Og?" She asked, secretly hoping she hadn't gotten the names of the two nations mixed up - she did not want to offend the beast. "What can we expect to find there?"

Azul's cries of pain before the shield went up widened Rovaan's malevolent grin. What he had said only made things sweeter. The fact that he, an elder demon cried in pain to one who was only a half-breed, made Rovaan's blood burn with delight. But that did not last long however.

Soon the sounds of shattering brick, and snapping wood filled Rovaan's ears. The building was coming down atop him and the others. Azul was shielded which vexed Rovaan greatly but there was no time, he would try to save who he could but, he was still pinned by Azul. Focusing his energy, Rovaan began to recall the demonic blade he had summoned, its form turning slowly to ash and scattering to the air. Before Azul could readjust his grip to compensate for the missing sword, Rovaan pulled back with all his might in hopes that he could pull free as he caught a brief glimpse of Eltheldredda staring him down.

Rovaan though back briefly to how he was a moment ago. That was not him, not the real him anyway. If he was to prove to this company that he was of no threat to them and meant them no ill, he had to do something even if it compromised his own life. Without looking to see if he arm had come free from Azul's grasp, Rovaan took a knee and wrapped his free arm around Etheldredda and shielded them both with his wings as the building came crashing down upon them. If he was going to die here, then he was going to die trying to save someone. But this would not be the first time Rovaan had faced certain death, no, there was a time long ago where the fate of a very kingdom hung in the balance. He had failed those people, but he would not fail here.

The crimson orbs which had appeared when Rovaan broke the final seal holding back his full demonic power wavered at the sight of Rovaan hunched over Etheldredda. They all had remained where they had appeared near the now crumbling fireplace. But slowly, one by one they began to change shape, each one taking the ghostly form of a human, male and female alike dressed in fine armor.

''Behold, our Sovereign. Prince of the Northern Realms of the Kingdom of Acaria. His highness, Prince Rovaan Aramond Draksis Artorias Du Leon.'' the first of the ghostly forms, a woman, cried out as it extended and open hand and knelt.

''No matter the times you have always chosen the path of ruin.'' said the next, a man who leaned heavily on a staff as he bowed his head.

''In war you ruled the battlefield and brought victory, but yet you only wanted to be in peace.'' said another, another female as she saluted by placing a fist over her chest with a bow of her head.

Each of the six spirits spoke in turn one by one as they all acknowledged Rovaan kneeling over Etheldredda. Once the last had finished, they each returned to the floating orbs they were not a moment ago and slowly faded as the building came tumbling down upon Rovaan and the others.

Mechanical Spirry – Towncentre

It appeared that this version of Spirry not only hijacked another demon's spell, but something else was involved in piercing the spells' barrier of the town, perhaps deliberately for the mechanoid's convenience, when one reptilian helped another. Undoubtedly, there were other things involved, behind the scenes. After asking the phoenix where Soahc was, Mechanical suddenly shifted, and looked eastward, lifting his gaze slightly, staring blankly into the sky, to the east, still awaiting the responses to those his magic had affected...

Newborn

After Spirry had boiled into vapour, encountered the dream, and then survived it, the Eight-legged One continued its path to the surface, moving like shadows through the much smaller passageways. It would soon reach ogre territory, perhaps to annihilate the warring ogres, who were one of the few races big enough to be threat, maybe. It spoke telepathically to Spirry, telling him to go east, for slaughter, get attention, to go to Ogrin, and then pave a new world. Spirry heard, and would reform into the world soon, but where?

The Necromancer

However arcane Ubaid's sense-equivalents may be, they were tuned to the physical world first and foremost - and even if he could have felt what had just transpired, the void overwhelmed any hope of knowing what lay beyond the temple. On the other hand, after that , the ghost doubted he had anything to gain by hiding; if any of the town's magically-inclined defenders were still alive, there was no question that they would be on their way.

While the mortals bleated and cowered, sibilant incantations spilled from behind the ghost's mask. Simply not caring if either man or monster spotted the athame sticking out of his palm, Ubaid raised his left hand, the sickly green glow of his magic festering in the crevices between each bronze joint. Deft and precise, he scratched the outline of the pentagram in the space before him, frost crackling about his boots and the air growing heavier, dead and still. Pictographs took form in moments as each finger scored a separate line or curve, emerald cuts lingering unsupported, until, satisfied, Ubaid's hand lunged through the spell. His fist clenched about the central representation of an eye, and his head snapped about to stare at the door to the temple.

A summoning spell, such close kin to the one where he had first met the Deceiver. If the wards he had heard during their approach still held firm, this should not have been possible. An arcane tang hung in the air, harsh and hot,
and when he looked up he could see the phoenix blazing above.

Whatever the rest of the team was doing out there, the ghost did not know; it would take something rather more involved than this to discern the truth. In the absence of any better cause, Ubaid concluded that the Grand Priest of Darkness must have decided to hasten the town's destruction.

Ubaid's body had obscured the spell he cast from the gaze of Janus' speaker, and as he turned to hear the tool's words his incantations ended, the lines dissolved.

'By his own admission'. Ubaid found his opinion of the man revised somewhat; such stringent self-deception was certainly worthy of investigation. Even after the glamour had been pierced, and the fool's soul knew what had truly happened, his mind refused to acknowledge it.

Acoxyle, in person or in proxy, had offered help to Soahc's band unprompted. His minions were in a stupor or too blinded by terror. He, it seemed, simply could not care less that Soahc drew closer. Whoever Acoxyle may be, Ubaid had no doubt that he was not on the side of the divine.

Ubaid abandoned all pretensions, and laughed , icy peals dripping with honeyed condescension. "Of course he did," the ancient necromancer sneered, turning back to the dreaded one he truly spoke to, "The Divine Banisher works in mysterious ways, does he not? It was Tyrrus who drew our ire. Whispering from across his exile, twisting the minds of the living, leading them astray with visions of grandeur and self-righteous proclamations.

"I spoke truth: I come as the vanguard of Soahc. The Deceiver's mind is fickle, but not devoid of reason. The forsaking divinities are right to fear his will, and champions of their light have been assembled to thwart his purpose - and mine. The question I would ask of the Empty King is this:

"Are you content to make a mockery of their servants, or can you help me stand against the gods and win?"
All seeing. All knowing. All scumbag.

Annie heard Azul screamed in pain as Rovaan's axe sliced into Azul before she was able to protect. She felt very fusterated at herself and Rovaan for the injury of Azul. She was about to attack Rovaan for hurting Azul but then she saw a building falling on them. She had to make a quick decision so she took the force field down around Azi and then she Telekinetic Pushes on the falling building away from them. She was able to put the force field back up around Azul but temporary because was so tired and about to faint. She yelled to them," please stop this fighting against me! This is my job to free him! Please help me! Arran please help me to free this demon!" -Dances-

Kuro

What the hell is this guy doing? The building is beginning to collapse Kuro knew what he must do, he needed to save the two who are going to get crushed. Focusing all his demonic energy taking a shape that of a demon. Note the shape that which is Azul but another demon

Kuro focuses the power he used before to that stopped a river, stream that a troll cause from drowning the others. The red glow of the aura taking demonic like ethereal horns, looking like a hulking humanoid demon. The aura even growing demonic aura like wings and tail, Kuro then says one word, one name, "Clolhan..." the name of his demon father as his aura takes that shape

Kuro moved his hand out the demon aura moves with his arms, he reached out for his sword. The black handle moves, it appears as if the material of the handle it was moving. Kuro pulled the sword in his hands the handle coated in dried blood, his own blood which he can control.

Knowing what happened last time he used this much power, he knew this wouldn't end very well. focusing all his power and all the power he reabsorbed into his sword the aura builds up around the sword. Kuro winces in pain as he feels the energy that Azul absorb in him, Siera's energy that was having a negative effect on Kuro's body. He focuses all his power into one attack. Needing to be able to strike through Azul and stop the rubble from crashing down on them.

Pulling his arm back for a powerful lunge nearly all the aura around his body pulls back and goes back behind the sword, then lunging upwards towards Azul, using all his might, strength and power. Stabbing with a combined effort of the sword physically and stabbing with the aura to stab the ethereal form of Azul as well.
and nothing was spoiled :P

Give me back the Dream...

The harmonic flow in the building right now was a rushing current that threatened to sweep her up, but she anchored herself in the Song that she still recalled from the dream of moments ago and let it rush by. There was very little of it left, for her inability to sing meant she could not recreate it, but there was enough to allow her a space of safety where she would not be pulled under by the oncoming tide. It seemed as though the dream state had opened her mind to a more intimate interaction with the underlying harmony of potent situations like this, since until now she had only been slightly aware of it. It had always been there, but it had never felt overwhelming, even in the face of something like the Dread Lord in Messia.

Now, she could feel all of it: the individual magic, the mixing that the magic produced, and the song of each person themselves. Each was different, but only one was a type of magic whose underlying notes she had not heard before. Azul's magic was a screeching mass of chaotic noises, Rovaan's sounded like a roaring flame, and Kuro's was dark and gurgling with a mix of the chaos that Azul's contained. Etheldredda, Joric, and Conleth had no notes in that song, while Annie was a blindingly loud tangle of confusion that seemed to have no real melody or direction.

The Tempora Sage, on the other hand, was quiet, controlled, and methodical. His magic sang with grace and wisdom, the melody of something that had found its place in the world and was fully knowledgeable about what it was and what it could do. Yet, at the same time, it seemed to loop around itself in an endless repeat that somehow managed to continue on. When she listened closely, she could hear that it was actually playing itself backwards as well as forwards, both melodies intertwining in a way that made sense even when it was not supposed to.
Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.
