The Decan had noticed her presence, and that meant her obligation was to report the little findings that she had before anything else. It wasn’t much, and likely not what anyone around wanted to hear, but that was unimportant. They could dislike that her announcements might eventually spurn them to action, but that was the job of a scout.

I came across several instances of combat, most of them skirmishes on the smaller scale.
” she announced, climbing to her feet and briskly walking over to stand in front of the Decan. Once there, she stood at a somewhat sloppy attention, her spear planted on the ground while being gripped firmly with her right hand. Not having any training as a soldier meant she had never really been shown how to properly stand at attention, and it showed in her lack of proper posture.

There were signs that lead me to believe a larger scale battle was also fought in the area, but I was unable to ascertain the location or a certainty that this was the case due to a new disturbance.
” she continued. “
I came across a trail of blood that did not belong to an ogre, and followed it to a point where an ogre had been dropped from the sky. The creature was nearly dead, but it told me that a demon had dropped it there. I did not come across such a creature, but the evidence points to the existence being very likely. It also appears as though this demon is heavily wounded, as it left behind a trail of blood that would be enough to prove that several humans were bled dry. I would advise dealing with whatever this creature is soon, as something that has the strength to carry an ogre into the air and keep flying while losing so much blood is an enemy that we can ill afford.

Although she made no response to the arguments going on in the adventuring party, she could hear them perfectly well. None of the members seemed to want the same thing, and only two of them sounded like they actually wanted to help the Empire here. The others looked as uninterested as Mugwo when intelligent conversation was made within several thousand feet, and that wasn’t good. While Kat could follow this on Faith alone, trying to convince someone who had none using only it would yield nothing.

Some would say that it was better if such people did not become involved in affairs that they had no business in, but Kat wasn’t sure she agreed with that. Even if they did not have the fervor that those devoted to the cause possessed, another sword raised at the enemy was one more that they would have to cut down before they had won. There was always more strength in greater numbers, and unless they switched sides in the middle of a fight it would always be more beneficial to have them than it would be to turn them away.

For the moment, she remained silent, her eyes on the Decan in case there was something else that would be requested of her. Kat might not have ever been a soldier, but she did know how professionalism worked. The deck of a ship was more professional than an army, at least from her experience, and if the one in command was talking to you then you did not shift your attention from them.

Hamstead - Zed

Zed started walking down the first side street he saw. Honestly he had no idea where to go, he just didn't want to return to the bed and breakfast shorthanded. He watched a sparrow fly over head and turned to Judy. "Do you drink?" He asked, then realized how that sounded. "I was uh, thinking we could see how Annie and Siera are doing at the tavern."

---

Espionage - Sileo

Sileo landed on the wall in a crouch as his grenade went off behind him. That arcane screech confirmed that an elemental could be killed by high explosives. Good to know.

Inside the tower, the assassin heard more guards coming to investigate. To hell with it. None of the others would really give a damn about being quiet, so why should he? He saw no need to waste time on brawling with a few guards, so he vaulted over the wall and landed on the ground in a roll.

Drawing his sword, he proceeded to enter the town proper.

---

Encampment of the Empire - Henry

Alicia was proving once again to be the voice of reason. Surprisingly. She tried to convince Alania to hear both sides of this story. Henry, too, didn't want her to take up a stranger's cause with such blind devotion. Honestly he didn't give a rat's ass about Charles.

"Alicia's right, don't pledge your sword for people who who haven't earned it." He told the two women, taking a hushed voice himself. "But... I think we should go along with this. We won't get anything done on our own. The Decan's our best chance of finding out what's going on here."
Ramsay Bolton is the king we deserve.

Judy smiled when Zed just asked her. She replied as they walked,"I would love a drink. Thank you. Good idea, let's go to the tavern and see how they are doing. Maybe we can find information where we can get good food for our mission." Secretly she was going to get more information for Soahc about the group and especially Annie. -Dances-

Hamstead B&B

Conleth nodded, before sending off two sparrows, which would attempt to find the other member of the party. If they were successful, they would try to get their attention in some way (such as annoyingly fly in their faces etc.) and lead them back to the B&B.

They were just about to enter when suddenly, to his surprise, Ethledredda decided to break the lock and burst through the door.

“I hope that’s included in the deposit…” he said quietly, looking at the broken mess of old iron in the side of the door. He then had a look at this new arrival. He looked like a wizard to him. He certainly wouldn’t exactly blend in if he were just walking through the town. Honestly, he wondered how the old man had managed to make his way through the streets here without anyone noticing him. Did*’t everyone here hate magic?

He did*’t react much to Joric’s statement, he simply looked crestfallen at the fact someone had noticed. This one made a lot of puns it seemed.

Rovaan** change was what really shocked him. It seemed bizarre enough that someone they were travelling with was actually a giant wolf-thing in disguise, but everyone seemed so casual about it. He was still struggling to get his head round some of these people.

“No offense or anything, but…is it safe for him to do that here? We're not exactly being discreet...and now the lock's broken...” he looked around to see if there was a way of blocking the windows, maybe keeping the door shut as well.

Where am I? Am I dead? No, I cant be my body hurts way too much, too be dead. There was a monstrous river troll and then... , these thoughts came to Kuro as he finally woke up after being unconscious for a long time.

He was laying in a bed, Kuro moves his hands over his body checking for injuries that he might have sustained but he had none that he knew of. Sighing with relief he finally sits up. Rather sore from sleeping too long.

He gets out of the bed and grabs his sword and hooks the sling of this scabbard over his shoulder and leaves the room. He says to himself, "Next time, kill the troll before you have to use enough energy to make yourself useless Kuro." Realizing they were in a tavern mostly by the smell of the place. Smelling the smell of beer, and other smells that go with a tavern. Kuro instantly starts looking for those he was traveling with, he was hoping everyone was alright. Seeing how he might have missed a lot of stuff he is hoping he can catch up on.
and nothing was spoiled :P

((Whilst I am appreciative of the concern you show my thread, CrazyJ1193, I'm afraid to say that I would appreciate a great deal more if you kept such insightful comments to yourself.))

Hamstead

The Local Pub

"What is the time mage is?" Repeated the barmaid thoughtfully, scratching at a chin with a dirty cloth and unknowingly leaving marks there. "Well, I guess he plays with time. He lives in a big, old tower and hasn't been out of it for so long, most people started thinking he'd dropped dead. You'd not reckon a time mage would die of old age though, would ya? I really don't know anything else, and it's the end of my shift, so I've got to dash!" And with that she disappeared behind the bar and through a side-door and out of sight.

Meanwhile, a rather persistent sparrow began irritatingly prodding at Siera...

The Bed and Breakfast

Etheldredda's reaction was, of course, hidden behind her horrific, masked visage, though one might imagine that she had a look of suspicion or frustration upon her fractured features. She was fearful of outsider interference, more than certain that there was a prolonged danger in their remaining in Hamstead. And this wizened man- a conjurer if ever there was one, waltzing in and seemingly at ease with them all put her on edge more than she would be willing to outwardly admit.

Joric's addition of the information that this Tempora Sage was a member of the Champions Guild helped to alleviate some of the uneasiness. So this man was sent by Monsieur Federico? Of course, being recommended by that particular guildmaster was no more prestigious than being recommended by a binman or bird watcher. Yet though there were many failings in Federico as a person, the institution he had created seemed to miraculously attract only the kind of clients one would want to have. After all, Etheldredda was thus-far pleased with the group of adventurers she had acquired.

At least that was the thought that was coursing through Etheldredda's brain when Rovaan abruptly shifted into a wolf to take a nap. Could one go to sleep in an obnoxious manner? If it was possible, than the shapechanger was certainly succeeding in that regard. The sheer bombasticity of the gesture knocked Etheldredda so off-course with her thoughts that the initial anger she had at the intruder was difficult to retrieve once more.

Conleth began to air his inhibitions about the transformation, making the obvious point that they were in potentially hostile territory with as much discretion as Soahc the Deceiver himself. Etheldredda's suspicions of the stranger within had made her memory lapse in terms of the potential enemies without. The windows had shutters, but the door would have to be manually sealed by the group. Etheldredda considered the fact that the patrons of this bed and breakfast had been cleared out, and those disgruntled at this situation might have lurked around to understand why. Between the masked woman, the dwarf, the blue-haired girl, the armoured ten-year-old, the wizarding acolyte and the bird whisperer, there was already more than enough case to say that something utterly bizarre was occurring- and that wasn't even counting their entire roster, which now apparently included two hell-hounds.

"Quite a curious cast of heroes you have here," the sagely Tempora quipped, nodding towards the now-lupine Rovaan as an example. He seemed to not mean that sentiment in a positive way, and Etheldredda could now see why. She was half a hag, Siera had a hellhound and another two team members were half demons, (or so she understood the situation to be.)

And speaking of the second half-demon, as if urged on by some comic creator deity willing this situation to become more bizarre, Kuro began to awaken from his post-battle slumber. Despite his period of injured restfulness he seemed to be on the mend, carrying his two blades with him. After the day of hard travelling, Etheldredda envied his respite, knowing that the rest of the party would need to sleep before making headways the next day, but also knowledgeable of the fact that lingering any longer might bring unwanted attention.

"Your horse is stabled around the back," Etheldredda said to Kuro by way of greeting, and offered no pleasant comments in regards to him recovering, as Etheldredda was not one for any kind of pleasantry. Instead she turned to Tempora Sage and said, "We'll vote on whether you stay or go." The wizard shrugged, nonplussed, and returned his gaze to the fire.

"Will they be back soon?" The hagspawn asked Conleth in restless irritation, irritated about this whole situation and its prolonging. They were meant to be out killing hags, not composing a mother's meeting in some non-descript town of no importance. The sooner the others returned, the sooner they could rest and the sooner they'd be out doing what they'd signed up for.

"Leave the front door for when the others get back, but seal the rest of the building. Doors barricaded and windows covered. Joric, can you do anything about this lock?" Etheldredda, who was uneducated in political correctness, and who would probably be uncaring of the concept even if she was made aware, was working under the natural assumption that all dwarves were great at fixing things.

Zed and Judy

As Zed and Judy- an unlikely a couple as ever there was- pondered upon visiting a local tavern in order to search for Siera and Annie, were instead appropriated by a rather irritant sparrow, which flapped in their faces and seemed to be trying to tell them something, though lacking the organs to speak...
