Ryder

Regardless of any improvement in finesse or control, it appeared too early for Annie’s feeble abilities to penetrate Ryder’s formidable biotic barrier. Despite having the advantage of point blank range, it appeared that Annie’s aim often glanced or even missed Ryder, causing further havoc in the cab as the primordial forces rebounded against the walls.

Unfazed by what was going on around him, Ryder took a step forward towards the panicked girl. Raising a hand, he was about to strike her when the girl was zoomed out from under her.

Otherwise motionless, Ryder tilted his head as he watched the girl get dragged toward the window. With a long blink, his murderous gaze settled firmly on Morinth.

Excuse me. Do they not have manners where you come from? ” Ryder said coolly, his face grimly serious. “ WE WERE HAVING A CONVERSATION!

In a quick successive motion, Ryder would attempt to backhand Morinth, before biotically throwing the girl back into the cabin. Should he be successful, it would not be a soft landing.

Highway to Hell

Mental instability was something that X7A understood was tolerated in government agents, provided that they did their jobs effectively, but although she understood it was tolerated she didn’t truly understand why. It was far more effective to simply have those operating able to make rational decisions at all points in their mission, and not jeopardize it through emotionally driven impulses that were simply unnecessary.

As she saw it, nobody here - except her - should be here. The only one in a somewhat acceptable position was Morinth, and only because she was the only current means X7A had to move forward. Moving blindly was a bad option, and even if the guide was mentally unstable - which was looking more likely to be the case as time went on - having any sort of information was currently better than moving blindly.

As pieces of train and elemental strikes filled the area around where X7A was sitting, the government soldier simply moved the gravitational deflection fields around her to a more active state. Instead of letting the latent fields bleed into the suit, she took control and increased them, making sure nothing was able to touch her. It was all stray attacks, anyways; nothing serious and certainly nothing she would have to worry much about.

Annie still considered Morinth to help her control her powers? Well, that was... considerate. She pleads for her life.

Ryder’s Biotic Barrier remained strong, but the flames and lightning had obviously made some damage to the interior of the train. However, it remained driving regardless. Ryder continued his childish complaints, then attempted a backhand across the chiselled Asari face.

Morinth was a predatory woman, and knew when to strike, and when to yield. She lowered her head as Ryder’s backhand came, the back of his hand smacking her in the forehead. The skull was a hard bone, so Morinth did not feel much. She remained calm and calculating, as did X7A, for the most part it would seem. The Biofreak simply amplified her gravitational protection and was unharmed.

Ryder used a Biotic Pull/backwards Throw on Annie, and indeed, the child was not dropped under the train. Instead, she was pulled back into the train with great force. The Biotic Pull, the speed and direction of movement of the train, and inertia, caused Annie to fly past Morinth and X7A, and fly toward Ryder with great speed! What exactly would happen next...

“Don’t you just love kids?” Morinth remarked at whatever happened afterwards...

Ryder

As the one who initiated the biotic pull, it made sense that Ryder was in the best position to catch the girl in motion. Although the girl wasn’t much smaller than him, his saving grace was their differing mass, allowing him to effortlessly arrest her momentum as he dispelled the pull.

Falling into his arms, Ryder gave the girl a quick up and down. A feint grimace crossed his face as he witnessed her untrained body. She had a defiant attitude, but evidently lacked pride. It was clear that she was misplaced in whatever setting had created her; a diamond in the rough one might say. Still, if moulded correctly, she had the potential to be a useful servant.

Unceremoniously dropping the girl, Ryder announced, “ This kid belongs to me now. Understand?

Annie scream as she was pulled with Biotic Pull/backwards She was thrown back on the train and flew past Morinth and X7A, and fly toward Ryder with great speed. She was so scared that she would die if she they don't stop her. All of the sudden her momentum stopped and fell into Ryder arms. Then he dropped her on the floor. She was shaking with fear and feeling so weak. She listened what Ryder said but to scared and weak to talk. Not really understanding what Ryder comment really meant. -Dances-

That Government Pawn

X7A did nothing besides watch the unfolding drama, her lack of interest quite apparent in the rather lifeless way she did so. The modulating gravitic fields went from active back into a passive state as the situation de-escalated, and were back at their normal strength by the time there was nothing else threatening in the area.

Had she not already doubted them entirely, Ryder's declaration would have made her question both his competence and his sanity. Morality wasn't something that remotely existed in her mind, and so any issues stemming from that did not even come into play. Her analysis concluded that, while his reasons for taking the child and declaring that she was his had a foundation in logic, the negative effects that would be brought along with the acquisition were too many to make this a worthwhile endeavor. To take a directly opposing stand would serve no purpose, however, as the only way to solve any issue she would have with this operative would be to remove him from the equation. Logical discussion was not an effective means of communication, at least from her database information and what she had witnessed so far.

Still, there was a line that needed to be drawn, so that when it was crossed there was no doubt about the consequences. It was simple, and X7A did not need to do anything more than she was already going to. While it would have been much more advantageous to stop this before it had even come to pass, that was impossible now.

"
You may do what you wish. Just understand that nothing has changed. If she endangers my mission, I will kill her.
" was all she said, eyes on her co-operative.

After catching the screaming kid, Ryder gladly claimed ownership. X7A did not really care, just working her defences, but did note the operative’s mentality. She told Ryder her views of the situation, and finished with a warning.

“Good enough for me.” Morinth remarked. "Can't wait to get off this windy train."

If there was anything else anyone wanted to add, they could.

Annie quietly agreed with Morinth to get off this dam train still to frighten to speak. Her body was still shaking with fear of what happened to her already. She still has many questions to ask but scared to ask.

She finally build up her confidence and asked Ryder in a nervous, week voice," What do you mean that I belong to you? Does that mean you will be my teacher to control my powers? If so, What am I supposed to call you?"

Ryder

" Ha. Of course it doesn't, you're just a dumb robot after all " Ryder chortled mockingly at X7A. He looked like he was about to say something else when the girl went on about controlling her powers, blah blah blah. God the kid was boring him already.

Ryder returned Annie’s question with a deathly stare, clearly in no mood for small talk. After all, with kids like this, one question always lead to another – better to cut that crap out from the beginning. The kid would have to find out answers on her own; he decided then and there that he would not coddle her.

Tch. Speak when spoken to, grub. ” He dismissed Annie, before shifting his attentions back to the front of the train.

Crossing his arms, he faced the smashed windowshield, unflinching as the feirce wind ripping through his hair. Unlike the others, Ryder reveled in the feeling of the howling air; it made the travel seem less sureal, exciting. It got his heart PUMPING!
