Annie repeated her previous point, not caring about everything else spoken about. The soon-to-be-fourteen-year-old, standing at 5’5”, who was tired and hurt, wanted to punch the Asari. But what could a short teenage girl do against a full-grown adult? Morinth remained seated, so Annie’s punch really could not miss. She punched Morinth across the face, and considering the haggard Annie’s youth, smallness, injuries, absence of martial arts, the impact of her fist did nothing. Annie slightly hurt her hand, the girl’s bones naturally soft at such a young age.
Ryder reacted, getting his Biotics going, and demanding silence. X7A simply could not care, so that much was given to Ryder. Annie got scared but then started talking like a pirate, though her reaction was understandable. Hopefully, she would learn to never trust weird-looking strangers.
But, Annie was still trying to punch Morinth, so presumably, she wanted to go for another punch. Again, it was not hard to strike a seated person. But also again, Annie, being a thirteen-year-old who was weak, tired, short, light, and having no training or experience in martial arts, could do very little against adults. The Asari race were softer and squishier than humans, but regardless, a teenager’s punches could only do so much.
Again, Morinth did not react much to Annie’s child-appropriate-only punch. Morinth was just like:

A second later, Morinth became uninterested, and didn’t care about anything anymore.
