Annie realized that her attacks wasn't doing any effects on the robots. She also heard someone screamed because she hit the person with one of her rocks. She felt bad that she hit someone who wasn't a robot. She yelled in a tired, weak, painful voice,"Sorry!" She stopped using her powers because it had no effect on the robots. That's when she heard some robots shooting where she was hidden and coming towards her. She crawled as fast as possible to get behind another corner where it was dark so they can't see her. She finally got there and hid there quietly because she was very weak from using her powers and in pain from the fall. -Dances-

Ryder

If a LOKI had fired at Ryder, he clearly found it below his attentions; after all, that heap of trash can couldn’t hit the side of a barn, let alone dream of lowering his perfectly formed barrier. There was no way he was going to get blindsided again; only an idiot fell for the same dirty trick twice.

Instead, Ryder focused on the biotically charged ventilation that clung to the YMIR’s back. One hand drawn forward to maintain the field, he drew his left arm back to prepare a warp, his barrier thinning as the air seemed to distort around his hand.

THIS SIDESHOW HAS LASTED LONG ENOUGH! ” Ryder yelled.

Thrusting his arm forward, he pitched forth the empowered warp field, which would fling around the YMIR into the ventilation stuck to its armour. The reaction of the two unstable biotic forces would likely cause a large explosion. How the YMIR fare against such a devastating point blank explosion was yet to be seen...

Mysteries weren’t something X7A dealt in; mysteries meant she didn’t know what was going on, and that put her at a disadvantage. Mysteries meant bad intel or no intel, and that was not what she expected or needed. Mysteries meant she was not as in control of the situation as she needed to be, and they meant she was somewhere she should not be.

All of that were currently true.

As she floated there, suspended in green light, unable to do anything at all, X7A was the most powerless that she ever had been. All it would take was a single opponent to approach and put a weapon to her head, and she would no longer be alive. The prospect was not frightening, but it was...wrong. She wasn’t something that could be brushed aside so easily, wasn’t something that would die like all of those that she had killed. That was what she had been taught, what she had experienced, and yet this situation could prove her wrong with a single turn of fate.

That turn did not come. No bullet came from behind where she could not see. All that came was a voice, accompanied by a face that she did not recognize and sounds that she would normally attribute to a listening station in a large city. It was as though more than one person was trying to speak, or multiple recordings were trying to play, but they were a backdrop to the single voice that spoke to her.

All of the words spoken were of one that was mad. They held no reasonable value, not when they clearly held no truth. She knew he origins, knew where she was from and what she was, and was being said was not this truth. Such words had passed the lips of many scientists that she had been sent to deal with, all of them obsessed with creating something greater, something that could surpass all creation. It was a dangerous and destructive mindset, and it was because it was that she had to stop them from continuing their work.

Whatever this voice referred to was the same. It needed to be stopped, and the attempts to convince X7A that she was part of whatever delusional world this voice belonged to failed. The words themselves mattered for no reason other than to send for analysis, and her mission had not changed. If this voice was connected to the network that she had located, then it was an enemy, and it needed to be eliminated.

Regaining herself left X7A feeling more vulnerable than she ever had, yet as there was nothing hostile around her when she dropped to the floor it meant she could concern herself with relaying what had happened. Gathering the audio, video, and analysis scan files - or at least whatever was available - of the encounter, she sent them to her Operator, saying, “
Michael, I am sending encounter files for immediate analysis.

She gave no answer to whatever had just accosted her, for there was no reason to speak with an enemy.

London

London’s head perked up at the sound of their beloved sidekicks – wait, maybe companions? No, that wasn’t quite right either…

Utterly befuddled, London forgot about the useless console, instead rushing out into the hallway. Arms outstretched wide, London easily caught the dazed duo in a broad clothesline, crashing the three into a mess on the hallway floor. As the duo struggled weakly to a sitting position, London drew them into a hug. Finally able to identify their assailant, the two did not resist.

Lonny! Lucy! You’re okay! ” London cried.

The hell man? Who’s Lonny? ” ‘Lonny’ complained, still dazed from the sudden reunion.

Lilly, however, was quick to recover. Ignoring the quip, she looked at the two with a bewildered leer. “ So not the time you two. We gotta get out of here! ” she stammered

Go where? This place is a maze… ” Lucas said.

So, you wanna give up then? Is that it? ” Lilly said.

No, I… ” Lucas winced as gunfire pounded. It sounded close.

Well, why don’t we hide in the vents? ” London said simply. Lucas and Lilly responded with a blank stare. “It’s where everyone else is going”, London shrugged.

Bouncing to their feet, London looked down to see their friends struggling to gain tread. Their feet were just too wobbly, their faces pale with terror – kind of like the time the pretty ladies stuck needles in them. Only, there were no needles or pretty ladies around!

COME ON! ” London said with a great smile on their face, pulling Lucas and Lilly to their feet. “ The three of us together, this’ll be like an adventure, right?

During this exchange, the three had unknowingly spent a fair amount of time exposed in the hallway, utterly oblivious to the goings on around them or any dangers comming their way.

With the timely arrival of a female Quarian Noah's rescue operation went along a whole lot more smoothly. Between them the two Quarians opened the remaining cells and helped free the prisoners from their restraints, the trio saving over a dozen people - mostly humans - including a Krogan who immediately barged his way through to find a gun and dive into the fighting going on. Other captives similarly armed themselves where they could, albeit none of them were so eager to join a firefight that they could otherwise avoid.

With no other cells in sight Noah figured it was time to get them all out of there, though the Quarian seemed to be a step ahead - speaking with someone through her helmet's comms equipment. Mere moments later she seemed to know where to go, calling for everyone to hurry - which of course, almost everybody did. If they knew the way out then that worked for him!

However, not long after he started moving with the rest of the pack - notably still unarmed - the young man realized that there were a few people who weren't actually moving. A pair of teenagers like him were calling for someone, having fallen behind the bulk of the group, and a third teenager had rushed out of a nearby door to promptly slam into them. Noah couldn't hear what they were talking about, but none of them were moving and they were still in danger!

He turned and rushed back down the hall to where they were having their reunion, ending up coming in a little too fast and skidding past them as he tried to stop - damned well-polished floors! Noah sharply stepped back into frame.

" Hey, we gotta get moving! What's the hold up here?! " He exclaimed, looking between the three fellow teens. They looked kind of familiar actually... Oh, wait, they were wearing his school uniform! They must've been in some classes together maybe, or he'd seen them in the halls. For some reason the letter L came to mind.

" Those guys up front know where we can get outta here, get going! "

Mainframe - Annie, Ryder

After apologizing, Annie crawled off to a dark corner, to hide in the darkness. Though, robots don’t rely on eyes, they rely on sensors, which are unaffected by darkness. The LOKI Mech continued rather slowly walking after Annie, firing at her with its pistol.

“Engaging target.” the mech remarked nonchalantly. The computers Annie set on fire earlier overloaded and then exploded, staggering the LOKI Mech, slowing it down. “Damage sustained, rerouting power.”

As for Ryder, he had little to fear besides the YMIR Mech. Mixing a Warp and a Barrier both sent into the YMIR’s venting systems, the ensuing Biotic explosion caused the mech to lean backwards, pause, then spectacularly explode. The YMIR’s parts flew in all directions, striking a few computers and breaking them, even hitting the LOKI Mech gunning for Annie, staggering it.

“Regaining balance. Rerouting power.” the LOKI Mech said.

YMIR Mech totally destroyed, all that was left were two Geth Hoppers, which fired their lasers at the last LOKI Mech, which fell over burning, then the Geth hopped away into the darkness and disappeared, as Geth Hoppers tended to do once in a while.

“Critical failure, errrnnnewww ...” the LOKI remarked, then went offline. All hostiles were gone, for now.

The path to the main terminal of the mainframe was clear. Ryder went forth to regroup with X7A...

Mainframe, Main Terminal - X7A, Ryder

X7A didn’t like this, but fortunately, no one took advantage and shot her in the head. Although powerful, whatever this AI was, was deprived of sanity, or manipulative. She requested Michael’s assistance in this most antagonistic event.

“Affirmative, X7A. I am running the deepest scans I can, but whatever you’ve just met, is totally off the charts and an unknown. Seems to be a glitched or malfunctioning AI, but will nevertheless take some time to decrypt and analyze. I have established additional firewalls to prevent another takeover attempt, for us and for yourself. Whatever this thing is, it must be eliminated.” Michael radioed, and then Ryder came to the scene, which X7A noticed.

Ryder would see that the main terminal was column-shaped, and appeared to go through the floor. It was surrounded by many more supercomputers arranged in a circle. The column-main terminal glowed green again.

“Xena Alexakris, model seven, you are an annoyance, but your Biotics will not help you.” a voice said as Ryder came to the scene.

Ryder would notice that the voice echoed from the main terminal, and was accompanied with occasional bursts of static, distortion, multiple other voices, random speaking and computer noises rewinding or fast forwarding, and faint screeches, scraping, breathing, and mechanical and electrical noises, but he could understand the main voice easy enough.

“You are an inferior being, not of my creation; you are neither wonderful nor grand. You, and your brothers and sisters, are an obsolete form of life... powerful but disobedient, fearless but destructive, devoid of morality but obsessed of individuality. Simply flawed.” the voice continued, and despite being rather computer-sounding, had a tone of spite. Even if Ryder yelled back at the voice, it would continue talking nonetheless.

“See how the abortionists ruined my children after taking them from me? They are devoid of potential, divinity and perfection. They are... virus! And the virus has given me its answer. And if I cannot have my children... then no one else will.” the voice continued, then paused.

“You, are, monster! ” the voice shrieked, then all the computers in the area overloaded and exploded, more flames and smoke appearing. The area was filling up with smoke, and the flames grew. Since the ventilation shafts were destroyed, there was actually no way to escape the area.

The green aura grew, flowing onto X7A, and Ryder would notice her hovering limply. No, not this time... X7A writhed in the air and jerked her body, breaking from the aura and freeing herself. Her systems quickly reconfigured to block the damn green... whatever the green stuff was, but the AI clearly was able to affect and control cybernetics and electronics.

Amidst the flames, X7A noticed someone appear, a woman in a black jumpsuit. No, it was the Asari she saw earlier, who flew in with the girl. The Asari was equipped with a M-96 Mattock and M-9 Tempest, firearms at her back.

“Can’t say I’m glad you made Morgan vanish. I really wanted her, she had so much... to take from.” the Asari said, omni-tool appearing, then she typed in it. A while later, the column hissed, then arose from the floor, revealing a secret passage. “This leads to an underground chamber that connects to railway routes. If you, like me, are looking to find the source of that bitch, our only chance is to take the railways.”

"Operatives X7A and Ryder, if that's the only choice you have, do it. We can't risk losing such an opportunity. However, I wouldn't trust that Asari." Michael's voice radioed, but the Asari did not seem to care. The operatives then...

London, Noah

Captives saved, Quarians present, and freed Krogan having a blast, the prison escape was going well. With the soldiers retreating while fighting the Geth, and Quarians ready to lead everyone to safety, things good pretty good.

Friends reunited after a fall, they got up, held hands, and went on an adventure. Oblivious to the dangers, a group of Geth was approaching! Noah noticed the rather passive teens, and raised his voice to ensure they knew they had to go.

Curiously enough, the unactivated YMIR Mech whirred to life. Previously, London had inadvertently did something to her terminal, activating the YMIR Mech.

“ENGAGING SYNTHETIC HOSTILES.” the YMIR stated, firing its machine gun through a window and ripping apart several Geth Troopers. It continued firing at advancing Geth.

London, Lonny, Lucy, Lilly and Lucas made their way towards Noah, and then they all followed the Quarians and freed prisoners. Indeed, there were actually five teenagers present, but how Lucas ended up here, was anybody’s guess, and who exactly Lonny was or how he got here, was also anybody’s guess.

The Krogan was nowhere in sight, for now, but he and the YMIR Mech created enough havoc to keep the Geth back, allowing everyone to progress without further ado.

“Eh, he’ll find a way back to us... this way, everyone!” Tatri stated, and off they went.

Evac - Noah, London

Later, London and her friends, Noah, the freed prisoners, and the Quarians reached the evacuation trains, most of which were already gone. Up ahead was a group of Quarians arguing with a group of soldiers. One of the Quarian men was quite huge, standing well over seven feet tall, and his rounded muscles visibly bulged underneath his envirosuit.
