I completed the Stronghold of Player Safety after claiming the treasure from the old jail block.
I found 10,000gp, two antique lamps (which I used to gain 500 Dungeoneering XP and 500 Magic XP, reaching Dungeoneering level 30), and a pair of Safety Gloves. I also unlocked the Safety First emote.
While killing the cockroach soldiers, I collected 15 carapaces. I used these to craft a full set of carapace armor, including two shields. I banked the armor but sold the shields. Since bank space was becoming a problem, I also sold my studded leather armor, my spider silk gear, and my black wizard gear. It all served me well, but I must make room for some improved gear. It will be some time before I can craft dragonhide. I may well buy some green dragonhide armor at the Grand Exchange.

Tonight I made some decent progress in Runecrafting.
I was at level 30 when I entered the Runespan. I siphoned 10 air runes, 5 earth runes, and 10 water runes to complete a Runecrafting challenge. I redeemed that to reach level 32. I stayed on the starting island, siphoning air, earth, mind, and water runes until I got to level 33. Then I used an air rune to float to a nearby island, where I climbed the vine ladder to access the middle level of the Runespan. I siphoned all six types of F2P runes here until I got to Runecrafting level 36.
I teleported to Edgeville and entered the Stronghold of Security. I went down to explore more of Level 4. I found a large chamber filled with ghosts and ankou. These ghosts had combat levels in the 40s, so they were a little tougher than the level 25 ghosts I've fought elsewhere. They posed little danger to me. I dispatched quite a few of them, but I still have not received the Cremation ability from them. It's odd that ghosts can be kicked and that they bleed. On a couple of occasions, I killed a ghost by backhanding it.
The ankou, like the shades at the entrance to this floor, did not attack me. I can't attack them yet without resorting to the right-click option. Soon I will be able to, though.
While fighting the ghosts, I reached Constitution level 49.

Today I brought 300 protean logs to the Grand Exchange. By burning these logs in bonfires partway between the main entrance and the central hub, I managed to raise my Firemaking from level 58 to level 63. Along the way, I collected two fire spirits. For freeing them, the spirits gave me an uncut emerald and 6 noted ashes. I lit 5 bonfires, and when the 5th bonfire went out I had burned 293 of my 300 protean logs. I didn't feel like starting a 6th bonfire just to burn 7 protean logs. I saw someone else had started a fire nearby, so I added the final 7 logs to that fire. Since I had achieved Firemaking level 60, I could now burn yew logs - which is something I have to do in order to claim the Explorer's Ring 4. However, I had no yew logs in my bank, and I need another 20 Woodcutting levels before I can chop yews. I could always buy some yew logs on the GE I'm sure, but where's the challenge in that?
I cut and banked the emerald, and I sold the 11 ashes on the GE. Since I had received a nice boost to my life points from the bonfires that would last for nearly an hour, I figured this would be a perfect time to make a return trip to Level 4 of the Stronghold of Security.
So that's what I did. I'll tell you how it went...

After having my life points boosted from making bonfires in the Grand Exchange, I made the most of this temporary gain by returning to Level 4 of the Stronghold of Security (Sepulchre of Death). I still hadn't fully explored this level. I hoped to find the left skull half to complete my Skull Sceptre, as well as the Cremation ability drop from the ghosts. I also knew the shades drop shade robes, so I thought a set of those would be good to have.
I teleported to Edgeville and ran to the entrance to Level 1. I used the portals to travel down to Levels 2 and 3. In the treasure room on Level 3, I climbed down the dripping vine to get to the starting room on Level 4. Here I began attacking shades. I honestly expected more of a fight from these creatures. I found I could defeat them easily, even though I was level 58 and they were level 61. The 5th shade I destroyed dropped a shade robe top. I killed 5 more of them before moving on to the large chamber I discovered on my previous trip to this place.
I reached the chamber and fought a couple of ghosts. With my life points boosted, I was healing 101 points for every increment of adrenaline (2%/game tick) instead of my usual 98. Then I decided to fight an ankou. At level 63, this was now the toughest monster I have battled. It was a good fight, but I defeated the bony ghost easier than I expected. I went on to destroy more ankou and more ghosts, only pausing on three separate occasions to rest in order to heal when I got down to 2900 - 3500 life points. I killed 30 ankou and at least that many ghosts. Nine of the ankou dropped coins (one dropped 50gp while the other eight dropped over a thousand coins each). The loot I got from the others amounted to 240 adamant arrows, 40 death runes, 2 pieces of medium bladed mithril salvage, a piece of medium plated mithril salvage, and 4 noted yew logs. I didn't have to resort to buying yew logs.
My bonfire boost wore off after I killed ankou #22.

After I dispatched ankou #27, I reached Constitution level 50. Now my unboosted life points were nearly as high as what I had with the bonfire boost, healing 100 life points per tick via Regenerate. I had no luck in finding either the left skull half or the Cremation ability. I decided to leave this chamber to do some more exploring.
I made my way north, then east to a smaller room north of the starting room. Here there were no ghosts, only ankou - and they were level 61, not level 63 like the ones I beat in the other area. I thought, "Well, this should be easy enough.", and entered through the west doors to attack an ankou. Oh, was I wrong! This ankou was harder to hit than the others were - and it hit a lot harder! I quickly lost most of my life points, but I barely damaged my opponent. I knew I had made a serious miscalculation, and that if I didn't withdraw I would soon be dead. I moved towards the south doors. The ankou hit me from behind, bringing me down to my final 249 life points. I made it through the doors, regenerated to around 1,400 life points, and rested for a while. When I was almost fully healed, I ran south.
I was back in the starting room. I attacked another 10 shades. Upon defeating shade #6, I managed to raise my Attack, Defence, and Strength to level 47 and my combat level to 59. Shade #8 dropped a second shade robe top. Shade #9 dropped a shade robe bottom. Shade #10 dropped a third shade robe top.
I then teleported to Varrock. I sold the three pieces of mithril salvage on the Grand Exchange and banked the rest of my loot. I found a full set of shade robes, and then some. The search for the left skull half and for Cremation goes on.

It had been a month since I last completed a quest. Tonight I did Goblin Diplomacy.
I entered the goblin village north of Falador. At the north end of the village, I found two goblin generals, Bentnoze and Wartface, squabbling over the color of their armor. These fools were ready to go to war with one another over it. I could've slaughtered the entire village, however I saw the potential for personal gain, so I agreed to assist them.
I gathered enough ingredients for the witch Aggie in Draynor to make four bottles of dye for me - 1 blue, 1 red, and 2 yellow. The goblins asked for orange armor, so I mixed the red dye with some yellow dye to make orange dye, which I used on some goblin mail I had found in a crate in the goblin village. The generals didn't care for the result and asked for blue armor. I found another set of goblin mail in a different crate, dyed it blue, and gave it to the generals. They hated it and asked for brown armor - the same gear they currently wear!
I found a third set of goblin mail in a crate above the main entrance to the village. This they liked. I was awarded Crafting XP and a gold bar, which I made into an amulet and alched.
Goblins are idiots. At least I got in the last word.
Oh, and I sold that extra yellow dye on the Grand Exchange for 70gp, which was exactly how much it cost me to have those dyes made. The gold bar was all profit.

Tonight I went back to Level 4 of the Stronghold of Security (Sepulchre of Death). I still needed to find the left skull half to complete my Skull Sceptre, as well as the Cremation ability drop from the ghosts.
Once I reached Level 4, I ran straight to the large chamber filled with ankou and ghosts. First I killed an ankou. Then I killed a ghost. I kept alternating between the two. In total, I killed 32 ankou and 32 ghosts. After I destroyed ghost #7, I reached Constitution level 51. Upon defeating ghost #32, I managed to raise my Attack, Defence, and Strength to level 48 and my combat level to 60. I received a notification that I now have access to War's Retreat.
15 of the ankou dropped coins. The loot I got from the others amounted to 180 adamant arrows, 20 death runes, a piece of medium bladed mithril salvage, a piece of medium plated mithril salvage, 2 mithril stone spirits, 2 noted pieces of mystic cloth, and 2 noted yew logs.
I teleported to Varrock. I sold the mithril salvage and stone spirits on the Grand Exchange and banked the rest of my loot. The search for the left skull half and for Cremation goes on.
