This evening I completed another quest: Rune Mysteries
I met up with the seer Ariane again. I had met her before in the troll caves of Burthorpe. This time, I ran into her outside the Wizards' Tower. She and I prevented the Tower from being destroyed, in spite of the actions of that pompous fool Sedridor. I don't believe he was responsible for the trouble, though. I do not trust that wizard Ellaron. Something about him just seems off. Ariane should keep an eye on him.
During the quest, I obtained a tower mindspike, a first tower hat, and a new title - the Grey. At the end, Ariane gave me 70 mind runes, an air talisman, and an XP lamp (Magic). I also gained enough knowledge to reach Runecrafting level 3.
Late tonight I reached Attack, Defence, and Strength level 37 and combat level 46 while training on the hill giants and the nearby zombies. I put the Quake ability on my action bar.
I'm a little closer now to being able to use my fully upgraded adamant gear.

I brought some rune essence to the air altar and crafted some air runes, which got me to Runecrafting level 4. While I was there, I spoke to a wizard who teleported me to the top of the Wizards' Tower. I then entered the Runespan for the first time. Strange place.
In the Runespan, I siphoned enough air, mind, water, and earth runes to reach Runecrafting level 10. At the same time, I reached total level 500.

This afternoon I made my second trip to Daemonheim.
I cleared Floor 2 again and went on to clear Floor 3.
On both floors I fought a Gluttonous Behemoth. These battles ended quicker than my first victory over one of these beasts now that I have a kratonite 2h sword, a weapon that is almost as powerful as my mithril 2h sword +2 and a vast improvement over the bathus battleaxe I was stuck with during my first trip to Daemonheim. On Floor 2, I was able to mine exactly four kratonite ores, and I used these to smith the 2h sword. I made sure to bind this sword so I can keep using it, at least until I can use fractite gear.
After I killed the boss monster on Floor 3, I found the first part of some Behemoth Notes. These journals make for interesting reading.
My Dungeoneering level is now 7. I have unlocked Complexity 5.
While in the dungeons I also got Cooking and Fishing level 18, Firemaking level 25, and Woodcutting level 20.
Today I also reached Prayer level 30 at the spring festival and Crafting level 45 by cutting gems in Al Kharid.

It was a busy evening. I completed another quest: Druidic Ritual
I spoke with Kaqemeex and Sanfew in Taverley. I helped these druids to create an ointment of imbalance, which they used in a ceremony to attract the attention of Guthix, God of Balance.
During the quest, I caught a stone fish. I used my chisel to chip off some scales, which Sanfew needed to make the potion. Instead of destroying the stone fish (or letting it go), I stashed it in my bank before returning to Sanfew, just to see if I could keep it. After the quest was done, I checked my bank. The stone fish was gone.
Completing this quest earned me 15 grimy guam and 15 eyes of newt. I also gained enough experience to reach Herblore level 3. I then cleaned 8 of the guam to reach Herblore level 4. Then I mixed 8 Attack potions. After the fourth potion, I had reached Herblore level 5.
Later on, I reached Attack, Defence, and Strength level 39 and combat level 49 while training on the outlaws and black knights around Varrock. I just need one more Attack and Defence level to be able to use my fully upgraded adamant gear.
Before going back through the Varrock city gates, I chopped 2 oak trees. This got me 8 oak logs and Woodcutting level 21. I went to an anvil south of the west Varrock bank, smithed a mithril hatchet, and added it to my tool belt.
I tried to sell the two black full helms I got off the black knights on the Grand Exchange, but nobody wanted to buy them, even after I dropped my price to 220gp each. I sold the helms to the Varrock General Store for 411gp each.
I wrapped up my night with a trip to the Runespan, where I raised my Runecrafting from level 15 to 24, completing a Runecrafting challenge in the process.
I also got Ranged level 26 and I raised Prayer from level 30 to 32.

I spoke with the wizard Mizgog at the Wizards' Tower. I ran into him once before, when I was helping Ariane save the Tower from destruction. He was of no help before. He just went on about some magic beads that had been stolen from him. I didn't have time to listen to his tale of woe at that time. So I thought I'd go back today and speak with him.
Mizgog told me another wizard named Grayzag sent imps to steal his four magical beads and to bring them to various runecrafting altars around Varrock, Al Kharid, and Lumbridge. I have no idea what possessed me to challenge the imp at the air altar to a footrace around the altar - what a stupid waste of time that was! I should've just killed the wretched creature. After persuading all four imps to puke up the magical beads they had been dumb enough to swallow, I cleaned the vomit off the beads and returned them to a grateful Mizgog. He gave me an Amulet of Accuracy, which should be useful when I train Ranged. Mizgog also gave me a Magic XP lamp. I used this lamp to gain 875 XP, which got me to Magic level 27.
Later on, I reached Constitution level 41 while training on the hill giants. Among the loot I got off the giants was a body talisman. This had been the only F2P Runecrafting talisman I didn't already have. I have no idea what hill giants would be doing with a body talisman, or with the runes I found on them. They don't strike me as runecrafting types. The giants probably looted these items from careless adventurers who died trying to fight them.

I spent time this morning training on the icefiends on top of Ice Mountain.
As a result, I have finally reached Attack, Defence, and Strength level 40. I also reached combat level 50. I have equipped my fully upgraded adamant armor and 2h sword.
I can now use fractite gear as well. I should go dungeoneering again soon.

Early this morning I made my third trip to Daemonheim.
I cleared Floor 4 on Complexity 5.
I am now able to smith some fractite gear. I made a fractite hatchet and pickaxe. I added both to my tool belt, even though my Woodcutting level is not yet high enough to use a fractite hatchet. In the meantime, it will act as a lower-tier hatchet. I also smithed some fractite gauntlets and boots. I need to raise my Smithing before I can make other fractite armor pieces or a fractite 2h sword. At least I still have my kratonite 2h sword.
At the end I fought a Luminescent Icefiend. This is an annoying boss to kill, because he keeps throwing icicles around. I beat him without dying, but I had to eat half an inventory of food during the fight just to survive.
After I killed the icefiend, I found another mysterious journal.
My Dungeoneering level went from 7 to 11. I have unlocked Complexity 6.

This afternoon I concluded my third trip to Daemonheim.
I cleared Floor 5 on Complexity 6.
Just north of the entry room where the smuggler is, I found a strange hooded man who had been encased in ice. I freed him from his icy prison by casting a fire spell. He said he is a storyteller, and can share these stories with me - even make me part of them - if I can bring him the correct items to jog his memory. When I went west then south from this room, I found a bear pelt. I expect this is one of the items the old man was talking about.
I smithed the best armor I can currently make: a kratonite helm, platebody, and plateskirt plus fractite gauntlets and boots. I really need to raise my Smithing level so I can make other fractite armor pieces and a fractite 2h sword. At least I still have my kratonite 2h sword. The upgraded gear came in handy a few minutes after I had finished smithing it, as my next fight was against a level 47 ice spider - the highest level monster I have fought yet! I killed that beast, plus a level 36 giant rat that attacked me immediately afterwards. I was not even injured during this fight.
In a different room with a weaker giant rat plus an ice elemental, I found the first part of a letter "M and Thok" wrote to their sister.
At the end I fought Astea Frostweb for the second time. The bitch was back! So was I - and this time I brought better gear. The kratonite 2h sword was a big improvement over the bathus battleaxe I was armed with the first time I encountered Astea. This battle took about five minutes. I beat her again, and this time I only ate 7 dusk eels during the fight.
Completing this dungeon raised my Dungeoneering level from 11 to 17. It also fulfilled a daily challenge. Redeeming that got me to Dungeoneering level 18.
During this expedition to Daemonheim I also got Cooking and Fishing level 22, Firemaking level 26, Fletching level 16, Smithing level 44, and Woodcutting level 24.
