Early Saturday evening, while mining runite ore to use in completing Yak Track task #25 - to smelt 2,520 rune bars - I reached Mining level 94!

When I logged in again after the reset, which happens at 7pm my time, I noticed my new daily challenge was to start two Plain Mining Urns. This would've been nice to have received a day earlier! Aslon Dak: Still 'Scaping after 19 years!

On Thursday afternoon, while cutting yew logs and burning them for Yak Track task #28 - to burn 1,455 mahogany, yew, or magic logs - I reached Firemaking and Woodcutting level 77!

These are now tied with Crafting for my three lowest F2P skills.

My Total Level is 1497. Will I reach 1500 before the Javapocalypse? Aslon Dak: Still 'Scaping after 19 years!

Late Friday night, while still working on Yak Track task #28, described in my previous post, I raised both Firemaking and Woodcutting to level 78!

Crafting is now my lowest F2P skill, at level 77.

My Total Level is now 1499...so close!

Thank Guthix I am nearly finished with this Firemaking task! It appears I will complete it before gaining the next level in Firemaking or Woodcutting. My next level gain, to get me to 1500, will most likely be in either Prayer or in Runecrafting. Aslon Dak: Still 'Scaping after 19 years!

Well, I did it!

Late Sunday night, about a quarter to Midnight, I managed to bury enough big bones, donated by all those hill giants I killed, to reach Prayer level 80!

This also brought my Total Level to 1500! There was quite a display of music and fireworks in the giants' cave to mark the moment!

Now all my F2P skills are at 80+, except for three: Firemaking, Woodcutting, and Crafting.

I had three bubbling lamps in my pack after opening my advent present and then using my daily TH key. Even using just the small lamp would've easily gotten me to 80 Prayer, since I only needed 1,160 XP to gain the level. However, I chose to not take the easy way of reaching the Total Level 1500 milestone. I worked to earn it, and earn it I did! I decided to use all three of those bubbling lamps to gain Crafting XP.

Also on Sunday evening, I downloaded and ran NXT for the first time. Initial assessment: Mostly Harmless. My new laptop (well, it was new last year) handled the download perfectly fine. The game is running well so far. No lag, crashes, or black screens when entering a new area. Loading the scenery following teleporting to an area for the first time is a bit rough, as the surrounding area appears bit by bit. Teleporting back to the area again results in the scenery appearing almost instantly. Some textures took their time to appear, and some haven't yet arrived at all. Hopefully this will improve. Maybe I just have to adjust the settings some more. We shall see. At least I can continue to play after the Javapocalypse!

The game world doesn't look too different from how it looked in Java. The flame effects on my longswords and along the bottom of my veteran cape do look more impressive in NXT. However, I think chi-blast mining looked better in Java. In NXT, it appears slow. The skill seems to function the same. Only the skilling override looks sluggish and less impressive.

Once I post this, I will update my list of pets to include Merry, the yeti. Aslon Dak: Still 'Scaping after 19 years!

This afternoon, I went to the RuneSpan and there I completed Yak Track task #30, which was to craft 850 body runes. I did this with the help of nine fleshy growth nodes, which conveniently appeared from the moment I arrived on the middle floor of the RuneSpan. After I had siphoned body rune #511, I reached Runecrafting level 85!

My RC level is now equal to my Magic level.

Early this morning, I gained three more levels!

While cutting yews and burning yew logs for Yak Track task #38 - to burn 1,800 logs of mahogany, yew, or magic - I raised Firemaking and Woodcutting to level 80! Each of these gains added 5 points to my RuneScore, which is now at 2090.

I also made three trips to the resource dungeon in the Al Kharid mine, in order to mine the precious gem rocks. Then I cut the emeralds, rubies, and diamonds for Crafting XP. On my third trip, I found 12 diamonds, 10 rubies, and 6 emeralds. I began cutting the diamonds first, for once. After the fourth diamond, I reached Crafting level 78!

Crafting is still my lowest F2P skill, and now it is my only one below level 80.

My Total Level is now 1506.
