On Saturday, I received a Fletching challenge to make 336 yew shieldbows. I began working on this late Saturday night into early Sunday morning. I decided to stop after I had fletched 311 unstrung bows, which left me 21 XP short of gaining the next level.

Early Sunday evening, I made the remaining 25 unstrung bows, then I strung all 336 yew shieldbows. As soon as I had made unstrung bow #312, I reached Fletching level 79! Redeeming this challenge earned me 45,262 XP. With the extra XP from 1.2XP Weekend: Extended added in, this left me 109,529 XP away from level 80! Then I will be able to make magic shortbows! However, where can F2P get magic logs, aside from buying them on the Grand Exchange? That could prove to be expensive.

Speaking of money, the challenge mystery bag contained 431 mahogany planks and 810 coins. I sold the planks at the G.E. for 369,798 coins. Maybe now is the time to start stocking up on magic logs. Aslon Dak: Still 'Scaping after 19 years!

Early this morning, after burying 35 sets of dragon bones, I reached Prayer level 79!

Early this morning, I worked on a Yak Track Fletching task. The goal is to make 500 maple shieldbows. I didn't have enough bowstrings in my bank, but I had 550 flax stored up, so I spun all of it into bowstrings. After making string #121, I reached Crafting level 77!

I'm pretty sure this won't get me to the next Fletching level when I am done, but it should get me somewhat close...less than one daily Fletching challenge, I believe. I still have 66 unstrung bows to add strings to, but I'll wait until later today to finish those up, as I am pretty tired right now, and RS is already nagging me to take a break anyway. On Wednesday night, I mined some luminite and some runite ore. In part, because I wanted to stockpile more of both these ores to use during Yak Track Smelting tasks, in part because I was working on a Yak Track Mining task (mine 180 runite ores), and because I was a little over 100k XP away from the next Mining level. After I mined the 180 runite ores to complete the task, I continued to mine runite. After obtaining four additional ores, I reached Mining level 93!

Early this morning, I completed a couple more Yak Track tasks, including one to smith 50 rune items, and a Firemaking task to burn 450 maple logs. I visited the Daemonheim resource dungeon to chop the maple trees, then burn the logs. It was a time-consuming task, and I stopped partway through to take several full inventories of maple logs to the bank in Al Kharid. Then I'd take the boat back to Daemonheim to return to chopping and burning more maples. After I had burned maple log #411, I got Firemaking level 75! After burning a couple more logs, I chopped more maple trees. 22 logs later, I reached Woodcutting level 75! Now I can burn magic logs and chop evil magic trees, according to the guides, but I cannot chop regular, non-evil magic trees, as those are P2P. How does that make sense?

Today I gained two more skill levels!

Last night, I was working on Smithing until my 1.2XP timer ran out a few minutes before Midnight. Using 75 protean bars I purchased with oddments, I got to only 9,976 XP away from 99 Smithing! Then I smithed 300 rune arrowheads before switching to Fletching very early this morning. After making 3,000 rune arrows, I reached Fletching level 80! I can now make magic shortbows. Also, I now have only four F2P skills that are lower than 80: Prayer(79), Crafting(77), Firemaking(75), and Woodcutting(75).

Next I entered the RuneSpan to complete Yak Track task #17 by crafting 520 body runes. This cleared the way for me to work on task #18 - to smith 50 rune items.

Returning to the Artisans' Workshop, I began smithing more rune arrowheads. I made 20 sets of arrowheads, 1,500 of them, before logging off to get some sleep. This afternoon, I finished smithing the remaining sets for 3,750 rune arrowheads. I made two extra sets, to round off the total to 3,900 arrowheads. As I smithed the 36th set, for 2,700 rune arrowheads, I managed to reach Smithing level 99!! My first ever 99! All done as F2P! The in-game message "News: Aslon Dak has achieved 99 Smithing." was nice to see as a world broadcast, and I enjoyed the musical fanfare and the fireworks.

It was weird to not see the XP needed for the next level under Smithing on the Skills tab. I decided I didn't like the looks of that, so I switched on virtual leveling, as the game suggested. Now I can see when I will reach Smithing virtual level 100!

Speaking of impossible things, who do I talk to about getting a Smithing "skillcape"? Exactly...which is why I refer to them as "membercapes". Aslon Dak: Still 'Scaping after 19 years!

Late Tuesday afternoon, while working on Yak Track task #21, a Firemaking task to burn 905 maple logs, I reached level 76 in both Firemaking and Woodcutting!
