If they are trying to cater to the people mad about people skilling not risking then they are just shooting themselves in the foot, because first off lets be honest no one risks in the wild anymore period. Secondly Now instead of pkers killing people for nothing they wont have anyone to kill at all. No one in their right mind is going to even be in the wilderness anymore with a divine o matic because its not worth the profit/loss. They solved nothing other than making divine charges take longer to gather.

No, they just aren't. This is an unfortunate expectation that's developed over the years from the playerbase, that Jagex has unwisely and too often tried to meet. In the past, content was more irregular, but generally quality. Quantity doesn't cut it, when it's not all that good.

I think the general negative attitude towards 'no-update' weeks is made worse by the fact that the last year and more has been so lousy in many people's opinion (mine included). However, don't conflate this legitimate gripe with 'every week needs content'.

Quite happy with the patches this week. Anyway, most of us aren't going to be paying attention to any new content when the end of the week is going to be dedicated to bxp. Let's have an update when it will be quality, and impactful.

A guess three bxp weekends per year are overkill, but otherwise I could fully agree with you: They certainly haven't repeated that july/august and november crap from last year yet - and we'll get an elite dungeon alongside improvements to the current ones next week.

Yes, Rikornak, I didn't want to get into that, moreso just stating what is -- but I agree with you: three BXPs/year = overkill.

...And when I said I was overall "happy with the patches", I also feel myself having to backtrack that, by saying that I am coming down with the majority who are NOT happy with the divine-o-matic, even though I don't use it and don't gather Cursed Energy. This change is fairly inexplicable. But then ... I've never understood the past changes that have favored bots over legitimate players either.

If that's gonna be the case, then other things need to be changed with the wilderness.

1) Get rid of it all together tbh. It's nearly dead content. Barely even a handful of people actually PK****'ing is more of an OSRS thing than RS3.

2) If you're not gonna get rid of it, then even the playing field. Tele-block should not last 5 freaking minutes. You're basically telling us that you care nothing about anyone that's not in the wilderness to PK. If a PK'er isn't good enough to kill someone that is unarmed or unprepared rather quickly, then they don't deserve to get anything if they're so bad they let their target get away. I recommened maybe 45 seconds to 1 minute maybe.. 5 minutes is just ridiculous. That's a lobby timer right there.

3) Refer to 1.

4) Don't make it so the Div-o-matic is lost completely. That's the most horrible idea I've heard come from anyone about how to handle some people complaining about no risk. We should only lose a percentage of the charges at most.

5) Refer to 3

I feel like you're missing the entire point, here. Players who aren't equipped to survive in the Wilderness getting roflstomped by a prepared PKer is everything working as intended, and that's coming from someone who makes a large part of his money and more than a few levels from Wilderness skilling. We aren't supposed to be "cared about" or protected-- that's why the Wilderness gets away with such high XP rates and valuable drops. The second that risk is removed from the equation, the rewards go with it.

Not that I don't agree with the overwhelming consensus that losing the entire Vacuum on death is a ludicrous change. Rather, it should drop all of its stored Divine Charges on death (full AND empty), prevent adding charges to the Charge Pack while in the Wilderness to prevent loopholes, but leave the Vaccum under the standard "items lost on death in the Wilderness" mechanics. I don't think it should always be safe (if, for whatever reason, you're carrying enough items valuable enough to put it out of your top 3/4 and manage to die, you probably deserve to lose it anyway), but the current change all but ensures that no one who knows about the change will ever use a DoM in the Wilderness ever again.
