Thanks for the patches, disappointed that there's no actual game update this week though. :(

really always the first to reply, and to complain, no matter what. they cant just add huge updates every week. thats just not doable

Idk where you got the idea that huge updates are to be expected every week; the problem is that there isn't even a small content addition almost every week. Patches and new content are both needed for a successful game update.

Hello Blackwing,

I appreciate that you like to give feedback on the patch notes each week. However, I do want to say that I think your expectations are unrealistic. While I completely agree that patches and new content are needed to make a successful game, I do not think it is realistic to expect new content every week, regardless of the new content's breadth.

Runescape has become a very large game and requires constant maintenance to keep the current content running smoothly for you and other players to enjoy. And, *good quality* new content requires time to create and code. Many other online games focus almost exclusively on patching the game while releasing new content updates monthly, or even more infrequently. Runescape, I'd say (subjectively) manages to create new game content every other week, on average.

In summary, a good quality game requires regular maintenance, and maintenance requires time. Because of this, expecting a meaningful new content addition every week is not a realistic expectation. If you still disagree or have concerns about the game's direction, it may be more appropriate to reach out directly to the development team so they can address your concern, rather than replying to a thread on the forums that will likely not get the team's attention.

Thanks.

"The Divine-o-matic vacuum is now always lost on death."

Does Jagex have no idea how expensive these are to replace and what components are needed to make them? Are they trying to make people quit?

This should always be kept on death, its bad enough to lose the charges.

Options to toggle off getting sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic geodes has been added to the Settings interface.

Why does disabling igneous geodes also disable metamorphic? :|

Easy, metamorphics do not have a standalone chance of getting them. Each Igneous geode has a 1% chance to upgrade into a Metamorphic (2% with Ring of Wealth)

The hitpoints of lower-level gem rocks have been reduced in line with earlier fixes to Prifddinas gem rocks. (hotfix)

Thanks for this, all gem rocks are useful now. The only complaint I have left is that Shilo's underground gem mine has been redundant every since the rework. It's perk was extra gems that has less competition due to being achievement locked, that perk is now gone. I made a post about it and the only attention it got was one extremely annoying individual who seems obsessed with trying to derail the post.

If you are mining at Priff. Gem rocks and notice they have a much more balanced yield it's because Mod Stu confirmed they developed a cold fix this week to stabilize the higher level gem rocks.

Last week we did a hotfix to substitute the majority of onyxes from Prif gem rocks with sapphires, as an interim fix to throttle supply.

During the week, we developed a coldfix to address a core issue with how mining rocks that yield multiple resource types was calculated, which was distorting the probability.

It's a shame that this wasn't reflected in the patch notes (probably a product of us having a coldfix and hotfix for the same issue), but hopefully gem rocks are now working as intended. Now that higher-level gem rocks are stable, we've also lowered the hitpoints of lower-level gem rocks (which is in the patch notes)."

Evidently my sample size of 20k gem stones mined last week wasn't enough to convince some that a change had actually been made for the reason "20k isn't a good sample size". Glad to see a mod confirmed it. There is no longer a dearth of emerald and ruby from the priff gem rocks. Anyone could see that with even a little thought as it was immediately obvious as soon as I started mining today that something was changed compared to the 20k gems I mined last week.

Thank you Jagex for balancing these.

I don't get why you didn't make the announcement of the Divine o Matic in the news article instead of just having it buried in all the notes. This is a huge change to how players charge up their augmented gear.

I'm not mad about the decision to make this change, I'm mad that you failed to put it in the news article and how it is up to us players to inform as many players as possible before they get screwed. Got to send a bunch of ******* text messages out now...
