If you are mining at Priff. Gem rocks and notice they have a much more balanced yield it's because Mod Stu confirmed they developed a cold fix this week to stabilize the higher level gem rocks.

Last week we did a hotfix to substitute the majority of onyxes from Prif gem rocks with sapphires, as an interim fix to throttle supply.
During the week, we developed a coldfix to address a core issue with how mining rocks that yield multiple resource types was calculated, which was distorting the probability.
It's a shame that this wasn't reflected in the patch notes (probably a product of us having a coldfix and hotfix for the same issue), but hopefully gem rocks are now working as intended. Now that higher-level gem rocks are stable, we've also lowered the hitpoints of lower-level gem rocks (which is in the patch notes)."

Evidently my sample size of 20k gem stones mined last week wasn't enough to convince some that a change had actually been made for the reason "20k isn't a good sample size". Glad to see a mod confirmed it. There is no longer a dearth of emerald and ruby from the priff gem rocks. Anyone could see that with even a little thought as it was immediately obvious as soon as I started mining today that something was changed compared to the 20k gems I mined last week.
Thank you Jagex for balancing these.
