I'm having trouble keeping my RS3 client open. It's sporadic when it crashes, with seemingly no rhyme or reason. I'm able to recreate this issue with other clients (Steam, Jagex Launcher Client, etc.) Does not happen with mobile, however. A clean reinstall of the software does not seem to help. Below is a snippet of log from Event Viewer.

Heya Ndwcol95,

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues while trying to play the game. You mentioned removing the client and re-downloading after did not do anything. Have you tried to remove and/or clear your game cache? This often does fix the issue as sometimes removing and re-installing the client does not always prompt a clean new fresh install.

In the mean time do check if your graphic and system drivers are up-to-date and running on the latest available update do restart your PC after either clearing the game cache files and/or updating your drivers to the latest available version ).

More information regarding clearing your game cache files can be found here: Clear cache (click me) this does open a new window and redirects you to the official support website ).

Adjusting the graphics may temporarily fix the issue as well.

Good luck.
Ooh, shiny things!

My client also has been crashing all day since update. Runs for about 30 seconds - 2 minute and then freezes and closes itself. Have reinstalled client/deleted and reinstalled cache. Updated computer and drivers. No success.

I am having the same problem (on FSW worlds). I've tried all the usual solution, but problem still exists.

The freezing/blackout is due to the RS client CPU usage going up to 98-99%.

I am currently smelting gold in the Falador smithing guild running from the bank to the smelters. Every time I reach the arch between the two the CPU usage shoots up to 98%-ish and the game freezes for about 2 secs after which the CPU usage drops to normal and the game continues.

NOTE - this has only started happening after the recent update.

Question - as JMods don't seem to look here very often, how can I raise this with them? - found out :)

I'm experiencing the same issue! Deleted the client, re-installed, tried to play on minimum settings..Nothing..Trying to delete cache ad last resort effort..This crap usually happens after updates, I wish they would fix this stuff for paying members.

Hi, same kind problem here, too! Problem started after Yesterdays game update. The client starts and let me log in but after couple of seconds rsclient crashes. Error codes varies, no clear reason for me..
I update client, clear cache etc, nothing helps.
My comp= iMac with macOS 10.13.6
RS has worked fine until yesterdays update....
