This is oldschool for the Old combat system. People want the game to progress believe it or not. We just want to play with the old combat system.

Ive said this before countless of times, and I'll say it again.

This will unfortunately not pass a poll. Hardly anything original or controversial ever will. Instead of having the 'no' vote be three TIMES as power as the 'yes' vote, make the 'no' vote only x2 as powerful. Meaning change the '%' needed to pass to :66%.

If this doesn't pass because of lower leveled players I am honestly just going to quit, I barley log in anymore due to boredom. I assure you, I won't be the only high leveled player who quits as well. Having the majority of players who want an update quit due to boredom to support the minority will not be good for this game in the long run.

Most of us want the dragon defender to come into the game - just not through pvp at all. I'm one who is creating a 70-75 defense build to pk and pvm and I also don't think it's right for that type of item to come through pvp.

As a player from actual 2007 I really want to see this come into game with the original spirit shields, with or without the divine nerf. (was against nerf in the beginning but it doesn't sound too bad now)

If corp is released without ANY of the four shields I will quit this game for good now. Oldschool needs updates like this...

EDIT: As Fierce Tank said above decreasing the vote from 75% to 66% would be fair for this update... The lower levels that think they will never own one of these shields are most likely going to vote no on this..

OR Please make it so you can only vote if you have a fair amount of game time played.

Im pretty much with you. The distinct lack of actual high level content is becoming extremely boring. I don't want to just go endlessly solo GWD bosses to continue getting the same armor/hilt drops over and over. Give me something decently engaging where every kill gives that bit of excitement of getting that one awesome rare drop, such as a sigil.

I also agree that the way things are voted in for certain things should be changed. Someone who is level 3 should not impact something they can't do for a year. It's honestly dumb. Just like people with low skilling stats shouldn't be allowed to vote for certain skill updates.

On another note - I think I have a

solution for the scamming

. Let's say you're in corp - you can't tele out because you just received a Divine Sigil (if no sigil in inventory - may tele freely) instead you will have to leave the corp room - going to another room before you can leave - then your whole team is in this waiting area - and the person holding the sigil cannot leave unless the team clicks accept on a pop up screen that will be sent when he tries to leave. This way this safe holding zone would be a viable spot to do the trade. So they could post the offer for 20m for the divine sigil and someone comes to buy it. (20m is just an example don't get butthurt).

After the trade is made the person cannot leave still - this way he has to split before he can leave. Once everyone has there split they can click accept and then the holder can leave.

Kind of just something that popped in my head - real rough sketch of it - but it works to be honest.

Why on earth would anybody want this? It's just such a game-breaking thing... totally kills the '07 feel. If you release strong defensive stuff like spirit shields, then you have to balance it with strong offensive stuff (D Claws? Chaotics? No thank you) to avoid unbalancing the game.

There's literally nothing good that could come of this. Thank god the new skill didn't pass the poll but if Jagex keeps threatening to release big updates like this I think my days on this game are numbered.

Its Old School runescape. Not 2007scape.

Releasing something that came out in 2008 suuure will kill the 07 feel.... by your logic your saying the corporal beast can be old school.....but it technically cant be old school also is what that phrase means...... by implying this is old school and not 2007 would then mean 2007 is also considered old school as that is the time frame the content existed.... You basically ruled out your own statement within itselfs definition of old school.....this most certainly is a 2007 game in your eyes just as it is everyones elses..

Spirit shields won't make GWD items crash. These items would promote solo/duo PvM which is substantially less kills/hour than trio. Zam/bandos tanks wouldn't really get that much of an advantage in terms of kills/hour. The advantage would be longer trips but with such quick kill count it doesn't make a big difference overall. By the way, these shields will be expensive. Not everyone is going to have one and be using it to "crash" GWD items.

The biggest effect that the shield would have on god wars is Armadyl. As for now, having an aviansie slayer task is the limiting factor for best kills/hour. Meaning on task without a spirit shield will be better than off task without spirit shield. You will be limited to your task amount and how often you can get that task. Task is a big difference, bigger than spirit shields yet I haven't seen the community complain that aviansie tasks are the reason Armadyl items are dropping in price.

I'd also like to point out that high level players like me will be at corporeal beast camping that instead of at god wars after the release of corp. This means less GWD items coming into the game.
